Description
【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an organic electroluminescence device having excellent light emission characteristics.
[0002]
[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art In an organic electroluminescence element (hereinafter, sometimes abbreviated as “organic EL element”), a fluorescent substance is generated by the recombination energy of holes injected from an anode and electrons injected from a cathode when an electric field is applied. It is a self-luminous element utilizing the principle of emitting light.
[0003]
Eastman Kodak C.I. W. Since Tang et al. Have reported a low-voltage driven organic EL device using a stacked element (CW Tang, SA VanSlyke, Applied Physics Letters, 51, 913, 1987, etc.), organic materials have been developed. Research on an organic EL element as a constituent material has been actively conducted.
[0004]
Tang et al. Use tris (8-hydroxyquinolinol aluminum) for the light emitting layer and a triphenyldiamine derivative for the hole transport layer. Advantages of the laminated structure include: the efficiency of hole injection into the light-emitting layer can be increased; the efficiency of exciton generation by blocking electrons injected from the cathode and recombination can be increased; And the like, which can confine excitons generated in the inside. As in this example, the element structure of the organic EL element is a two-layer type of a hole transporting (injection) layer and an electron transporting light emitting layer, or a hole transporting (injection) layer, a light emitting layer, and an electron transporting (injection). The three-layer type and the like are well known. In such an organic EL device having a laminated structure, a device structure and a method of forming each layer are devised in order to increase the recombination efficiency of injected holes and electrons. Also, various compounds have been developed as materials for organic EL devices.
[0005]
Examples of the hole transporting material include 4,4 ′, 4 ″ -tris (3-methylphenylphenylamino) triphenylamine and N, N′-diphenyl-N, N′-bis (3-methyl) which are starburst molecules. Triphenylamine derivatives such as phenyl)-[1,1′-biphenyl] -4,4′-diamine and aromatic diamine derivatives are well known (for example, JP-A-8-20771, JP-A-8-20771). 40995, JP-A-8-40997, JP-A-8-53397, JP-A-8-87122, etc. In addition, oxadiazole derivatives and triazole derivatives are well known as electron transporting materials. ing.
[0006]
Further, as the light emitting material, a chelate complex such as an aluminum complex of tris (8-quinolinolate), a light emitting material such as a coumarin derivative, a tetraphenylbutadiene derivative, a bisstyrylarylene derivative, and an oxadiazole derivative are known. It has been reported that light emission in the visible region from blue to red is obtained, and realization of a color display element is expected (for example, JP-A-8-239655, JP-A-7-138561, JP-A-7-138561). 3-200289).

It has also been found that the introduction of a cyclohexylidenemethine group increases the maximum occupied orbital and facilitates charge injection depending on the device configuration, so that the luminous efficiency is greatly improved.
[0010]
