Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 (産業上の利用分野) 本発明は、管体の接続方法に関し、更に詳しくは熱可
塑性樹脂管、管継手、弁等の管体の接続方法に関する。
(従来の技術) 従来、熱可塑性材料から成る管体同士の突合せ端部を
溶接する手段として、管体の溶接結合領域に於ける外周
に、該突合せ端部の溶融温度迄加熱する為のヒータを配
置し、拡張時に管体の内周壁面に対し押圧し得るブラダ
ーを溶接結合領域に配置して、溶接部分の内周にビード
が発生することを防ぐと共に、充分な溶接圧力を加える
ようにした技術が、特開平1−133719号公報に示されて
いる。
(発明が解決しようとする課題) しかしながら、上記従来技術に於いては、管体同士の
突合せ端部のみの接合であるので、尚強度、就中、接合
強度、衝撃強度が不足するおそれがあり、用途に制約を
受けるという問題があった。
本発明は、上記従来技術の問題点を解消し、強度の優
れた接合を作業性よく行うことが可能な管体の接続方法
を提供することを目的とするものである。
(課題を解決するための手段) 本発明は、熱可塑性樹脂にて製せられ、内部に電気抵
抗体が埋設された短管状の管継手に、接続すべき熱可塑
性樹脂管体の管端を、該管継手の左右開口部から挿入し
て衝合させ、径方向に拡張可能な支持体を該衝合部分の
内方に挿嵌して拡張せしめ、管体の内壁に対して押圧せ
しめた状態で、電気抵抗体に通電して管継手内周面と管
接続部外周面間及び管端同士を溶着させ、冷却完了後、
支持体を収縮して取除くことを特徴とする管体の接続方
法をその要旨とするものである。
本発明に用いる熱可塑性樹脂管体と管継手とは、その
使用原料は特に限定されないが同材質のものが使用さ
れ、超純水用の管路に使用される場合には、化学的に不
活性で耐熱性に富むポリ弗化ビニリデン(PVDF)を使用
するのが好ましい。
本発明に用いる電気抵抗体の素材としては、前記管継
手を形成する熱可塑性樹脂の溶融温度に応じて、Ni−Cr
合金、Ni−Cr−Fe合金、Fe−Cr−Al合金等の電気抵抗合
金の中から適当なものが選択使用される。
電気抵抗体の埋設は、管継手の管壁内に、線材状の電
気抵抗体を管軸心の回りに螺旋状になるように埋設する
外、管壁内に、細棒状の電気抵抗体を周方向等間隔に管
軸心と平行に多数本配設する等種々の方法が挙げられ
る。
本発明に用いる支持体は、例えば耐熱性のエラストマ
ーもしくはシリコン製袋状体の内部に電気的加熱素子と
熱膨張性の合成オイル等の液体を封入し、電気的加熱素
子に通電して加熱による液体の体積増加を利用して径方
向に拡張せしめてもよく、袋状体内に加圧空気等の流体
を供給して強制的に拡張せしめてもよい。又、上述の袋
状体内に形状記憶合金もしくはバイメタル製発条を配設
し、温度変化による変形を利用して径方向に拡張せしめ
てもよく、上述の袋状体内に配設された非磁性体核の周
囲に鉄粉の如き磁化可能な粉状もしくは粒状物質、又は
油及び鉄粉の混合物のごとき磁性流体を配設して電磁石
により磁界を発生させ、磁力を利用して拡張せしめても
よい。或いは又、袋状体の一端に固定された金属線条も
しくは雄螺子を刻設した軸棒を他端から引出して長さ方
向に圧縮すると共に、径方向に拡張してもよい。
本発明に於いて、管継手内に於ける管体同士の突合せ
端部の溶接部分に対しては長手方向に、又、管継手内周
面と管接続部外周面間の溶接部分に対しては径方向に、
夫々人力等で押圧力を加えるのが好ましい。
又、本発明に於いて、溶接部分を冷却するには、自然
冷却の外、後述するように特製の冷却ジャケットを用意
し、強制冷却させれば、短時間に冷却され、作業能率が
向上する。
(作用) 本発明管体の接続方法は、内部に電気抵抗体が埋設さ
れた短管状の管継手に、接続すべき熱可塑性樹脂管体の
管端を、該管継手の左右開口部から挿入して衝合させ、
径方向に拡張可能な支持体を該衝合部分の内方に挿嵌し
て拡張せしめ、管体の内壁に対して押圧せしめた状態
で、電気抵抗体に通電して管継手内周面と管接続部外周
面間及び管端同士を溶着させ、冷却完了後、支持体を収
縮して取除くことによって行われるので、管接続部が管
継手によって補強されると共に、広い溶着面積が得ら
れ、溶融した樹脂の管体内面への流出が支持体により堰
止められる。
(実施例) 以下本発明の実施例を図面を参照しながら説明する。
第1図は本発明接続方法に使用する管継手、管体、支
持体及び冷却ジャケットの一例を示す分解斜視図、第2
図は同上の溶着工程の1段階を示す断面図である。
1は、内部に線材からなる電気抵抗体11を螺旋状に埋
設した断面円形の熱可塑性樹脂製管継手であって、外壁
面には、相背向する位置に電極12が凸設されている。
2、2′は、前記管継手1と同材質からなり、該管継
手1によって接続される円管状の熱可塑性管体であっ
て、その外径は管継手1の内径と略等しくなされてい
る。
3は径方向に拡張可能な耐熱性エラストマー製袋状体
からなる支持体であって、その一端には、チューブ31が
固着されており、チューブ31の他端は図示しないエアコ
ンプレッサーに接続されている。
4は1組の半筒状体からなり、第2図に示すように、
内部に通水路41を有する冷却ジャケットであって、閉合
時におけるその内径は管継手1の外径と略等しくなされ
ており、通水路41は通水管5によって水槽6及びポンプ
Pに接続されて閉水路が形成されている。
次に、本発明方法に於いて、管体2、2′を接続する
手順について説明する。
先ず、熱可塑性樹脂製管継手1内に、熱可塑性樹脂管
体2、2′の端部を両側から挿入して互いに衝合せしめ
る。次に、径方向に拡張可能な支持体3を、何れか一方
の管体2の他端から該衝合部分の内方に挿嵌し、支持体
3内にチューブ31を通じてエアコンプレッサーから加圧
空気を供給して径方向に拡張せしめ、管体2、2′の管
接続部21、21′内壁に対して押圧せしめると共に、管継
手1の外側から1組の半筒状体からなる冷却ジャケット
4、4を閉合して管継手1を被覆せしめる(第2図参
照)。この状態で、電極12に、電源に接続された接続端
子7を接続して電気抵抗体11に通電すると、電気抵抗体
11の発熱により、管継手1の内周面と管体2、2′の管
接続部21、21′の外周面相互間及び管体2、2′の衝合
された管端同士は溶着される。次いで、ポンプPによ
り、通水管5を通じて水槽6から、該冷却ジャケット4
内の通水路41に低温の水を循環させて管継手1を外面か
ら冷却する。冷却完了後、支持体3内の加圧空気をチュ
ーブ31を通じて脱気し、支持体3を収縮させて管体2か
ら抜き出し、冷却ジャケット4を上下に開割して取除け
ば、接続が完了する。
(発明の効果) 本発明管体の接続方法は、叙上の通り構成されている
ので、内面が滑らかで接続強度の優れたものが容易に得
られ、用途範囲が拡大される。

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】熱可塑性樹脂にて製せられ、内部に電気抵
    抗体が埋設された短管状の管継手に、接続すべき熱可塑
    性樹脂管体の管端を、該管継手の左右開口部から挿入し
    て衝合させ、径方向に拡張可能な支持体を該衝合部分の
    内方に挿嵌して拡張せしめ、管体の内壁に対して押圧せ
    しめた状態で、電気抵抗体に通電して管継手内周面と管
    接続部外周面間及び管端同士を溶着させ、冷却完了後、
    支持体を収縮して取除くことを特徴とする管体の接続方
    法。
