Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 本発明は空気分離装置に係り、特に液体酸素を気化さ
せるガスの昇圧に好適な空気分離装置に関するものであ
る。
〔従来の技術〕
従来の空気分離装置は、精留塔より抜き出された液体
酸素をポンプで昇圧後、熱交換器に供給し該熱交換器で
液体酸素を蒸発するために、空気等のガスを、昇圧機で
所定の圧力まで昇圧していた。
即ち、ポンプで昇圧された液体酸素の沸点が上昇する
ため、これを蒸発させる空気等のガスも空気分離装置の
運転圧力以上に昇圧する必要があった。なお、この種の
装置として関連するものには例えば特開昭56−80681号
が挙げられる。
〔発明が解決しようとする課題〕
上記従来技術は昇圧機の消費動力が大きくなることに
ついて配慮がされておらず、空気等のガスの昇圧を電動
機で駆動する昇圧機で行っていたため、空気等のガスの
昇圧に要する消費動力が大きくなっていた。
本発明の目的は、前記空気等のガスの昇圧に必要な消
費動力を低減する空気分離装置を提供することにある。
〔課題を解決するための手段〕
上記目的は、膨張タービンを駆動源とする圧縮機を設
け、該圧縮機により空気等のガスを昇圧することによ
り、達成される。
〔作用〕
従来の膨張タービンは空気分離装置の寒冷発生のた
め、空気を断熱膨張させる一方で、この寒冷相当の動力
を回収している。この動力回収は空気分離装置を運転す
るために必然的に行われているものである。本発明は膨
張タービンの回収動力を駆動源として、圧縮機を稼動さ
せ該圧縮機により空気等のガスの昇圧を行ない、所定圧
力まで昇圧するのに必要な消費動力を低減することがで
きる。
〔実 施 例〕
以下、本発明の一実施例を第1図により説明する。
図において、原料空気の一部は空気熱交換器1で冷却
され精留塔6に送気され、製品である酸素と廃窒素とに
精留分離される。精留塔6は原料空気が塔底部に供給さ
れる高圧の下塔と、塔頂部に廃窒素を発生する低圧の下
塔とからなり、液体酸素は上塔と下塔との結合部分に得
られる。空気熱交換器1に送気された原料空気の一部は
空気熱交換器1より中間抽出(気)され、膨張タービン
3にて断熱膨張され、寒冷を発生し、この寒冷は精留塔
6の上塔側に供給される。一方酸素は液状で精留塔6よ
り抜き出され、ポンプ7にて昇圧後、酸素熱交換器5
で、空気昇圧機2および膨張タービン3で駆動される圧
縮機4で所定の圧力まで昇圧された空気と熱交換するこ
とにより、蒸発気化し後流に送気される。
本実施例によれば、膨張タービン3の回収動力も空気
の昇圧に有効に利用できるため、空気昇圧機2の消費動
力を低減できる効果がある。
本発明は酸素の蒸発媒体として空気に限定するもので
はなく、媒体として窒素等を用いる場合にも適用できる
ものである。
〔発明の効果〕
本発明によれば、酸素を蒸発,気化する空気等のガス
の昇圧に必要な動力を低減できるので、装置のランニン
グコストを低減できる効果がある。

    (57)【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 【請求項1】上塔および下塔からなり、下塔底部に供給
    される原料空気から液体酸素と窒素とを分離して発生す
    る精留塔と、この精留塔から得られる窒素との熱交換に
    より原料空気を冷却する空気熱交換器と、この空気熱交
    換器の途中より抜き出された原料空気を断熱膨張して寒
    冷として上記精留塔の上塔に供給する膨張タービンと、
    この膨張タービンに連結された圧縮機とこの圧縮機と直
    列接続された他の圧縮機とからなり、上記空気熱交換器
    に供給される前の原料空気を圧縮する圧縮手段と、この
    圧縮手段から出力される原料空気との熱交換により上記
    液体酸素を気化させる酸素熱交換器とからなることを特
    徴とする空気分離装置。
