For example, Patent Document 1 discloses an oral aerosol containing a stock solution containing glycyrrhetinic acid as one of the medicinal ingredients together with a specific dihydric alcohol and a nonionic surfactant. Attempts have been made to improve the storage stability in order to fully demonstrate the properties.
However, in the technique of Patent Document 1, no study has been made on increasing the effect of glycyrrhetinic acid in suppressing plaque formation.

By containing a monohydric or dihydric alcohol and controlling the pH to a low range while containing at a mass ratio of , it is possible to remarkably enhance the excellent dental plaque formation inhibitory effect of glycyrrhetinic acid or a salt thereof. An oral composition has been found.

<<Evaluation of plaque formation inhibitory effect>>
1) Treatment of 24-well plate with each oral composition Resting saliva collected from healthy subjects in their 20s to 40s was passed through a 0.2 μm filter to obtain sterile saliva. 500 μL of sterile saliva was added to a 24-well plate and allowed to stand at 37° C. for 8 hours to form a pellicle on the bottom of the plate. After pellicle formation, sterile saliva was sucked using a vacuum pump, and 1 mL of each oral composition was added and shaken for 5 minutes. Shaking was performed using a shaker (BioShake iQ (manufactured by Wakenby Tech)) at room temperature (25° C.) and 400 rpm. After that, the excess moisture after each shaking was sucked off to prepare a treatment plate.
2) Evaluation of Plaque Formation Inhibition Rate 0.2% sucrose was added to BHI medium, and Streptococcus mutans JCM5707 was adjusted to a final OD600 of 0.1 to prepare a plaque formation model bacterial solution. 1 mL of this plaque-forming model bacterial solution was added to each of the treated plates obtained in 1) above, and cultured at 37° C. for 20 hours under anaerobic conditions.
3) CV Staining of Dental Plaque Using a vacuum pump, the plaque forming model bacteria solution in the treated plate was sucked up, 1 mL of phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) was added, and the plate was shaken for 5 minutes. Next, the PBS was sucked out using a pump, 500 μL of 0.1% by mass crystal violet (CV) solution was added, and the mixture was allowed to stand for 20 minutes.
Further, the CV solution was sucked up with a pump, 1 mL of PBS was added and shaken for 5 minutes, and this was repeated twice. The PBS was then pumped off and 1 mL of 30% acetic acid solution was added and shaken for 5 minutes to extract the dye.
4) Evaluation of Plaque Formation Suppressing Effect The obtained extract was measured for absorbance OD 595 nm using a microplate recorder (wavelength variable absorption microplate reader Sunrise Rainbow Thermo manufactured by TECAN). As a control example, the absorbance OD 595 nm of a treated plate treated with purified water only (100% by mass) instead of using each oral composition was measured.
Next, the absorbance OD 595 nm of the treated plate treated with only purified water was used as a standard 1, and the absorbance OD 595 nm of the treated plate treated with each of the above oral compositions was indexed as an evaluation index.
In addition, it means that the smaller the obtained index value, the higher the effect of suppressing plaque formation. In particular, if this value is less than 0.5, it can be judged that an excellent effect of suppressing plaque formation is exhibited.
