Abstract
Description
本願は、2020年8月4日に出願された米国特許出願第16/984,505号の優先権の利益を主張する。さらに、上記米国特許出願は、2019年8月6日に出願された米国仮特許出願第62/883,375号の優先権の利益を主張する。上記米国特許出願の内容は、引用することにより本明細書の一部をなす。
[(RO)3-aSi-R2-N(R1)(R1)(R3)]X- (I)、又は、
(HO)2-Si(R4)-O-(R4)Si-(OH)2 (II)
(Rはそれぞれ独立してC1~C4アルキル、R4、又はHであり、aは0、1、又は2を含む整数値であり、R1及びR2はそれぞれ独立してC1~C8のアルキル基又はアルケニル基であり、R3はC1~C22アルキル基であり、Xはアニオンを表し、第四級アンモニウムカチオンにより塩が形成されることを条件として、F-、Cl-、Br-、I-、2価及び3価のアニオンを含み、R4はそれぞれ[N(R1)(R1)(R3)]X-である)を有する。式(I)に存在する任意のアルキル基又はアルケニル基は、直鎖でもよく分岐鎖でもよいことが理解される。さらに、少なくともC3を有する任意のアルキル基は、溶解性及び被膜形成特性を変更するのに役立つペンダント基を更に含むことができることが理解される。本明細書において有効なペンダント基としては、例示的には、-OH、-SO4 -2、又は-SO3 -が挙げられる。
図2Aに示す物品を使用すると共に図1B及び図2Dの方法を実演して、コーティング組成物をクロロプレンゴムと天然ゴム(CR-NR)混合スキージに塗布し、WR活性化試験の前にコーティングしたスキージを濡れた手触りにした(少なくともこの実施例に関して)。試験結果を5回の複製試行について図13に示す。フロントガラスの平均水CAは、測定を確かめるためにASTM C813を使用して、活性前の30度未満から、150ワイプサイクル後には60度超まで上昇した。これらの試行は、荒天条件をシミュレートするためにウェット条件において行われる。
Claims (19)
- 自動車ワイパーブレードのゴム要素からフロントガラスに撥水性を付与するコーティング組成物であって、該コーティングは、
第四級アンモニウムシランと、
分子量が500~5000であるポリアルキレングリコールと、
を含む、組成物。 - 固形潤滑剤を更に含む、請求項1に記載の組成物。
- 前記固形潤滑剤が0総重量パーセント~40総重量パーセントで存在する、請求項2に記載の組成物。
- 前記第四級アンモニウムシランが5総重量パーセント~95総重量パーセントで存在する、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- 前記ポリアルキレングリコールが1600±300の分子量を有し、5総重量パーセント~95総重量パーセントで存在する、請求項1~3のいずれか一項に記載の組成物。
- フロントガラスワイパーのブレードと接触する表面に疎水性被膜を作り出すキットであって、
基体上にアプリケーター表面、及び該アプリケーター表面上に請求項1に記載の組成物から形成された不揮発性層を有するアプリケーターであって、前記不揮発性層が、前記アプリケーター表面に付着しているか、又は容器から前記アプリケーター表面に塗布される、アプリケーターと、
前記基体の前記アプリケーター表面にあるスロット又はチャネルであって、前記ブレードに前記疎水性被膜を付与するために前記フロントガラスワイパーの前記ブレードと噛み合うように構成される、スロット又はチャネルと、
前記アプリケーター表面を前記ブレードと接触させて60度以上の水接触角を有する疎水性被膜を前記表面に作り出すための使用説明と、
を備える、キット。 - 前記アプリケーターが、前記フロントガラスワイパーの前記ブレードをクリーニングするクリーニングスロット又はチャネルを更に備える、請求項6に記載のキット。
- 前記アプリケーターが前記表面をクリーニングするスクラブパッドを更に備える、請求項6に記載のキット。
- 前記不揮発性層が不乾性であり、ワイピングによって前記アプリケーター表面から接触面へと移行可能である、請求項6に記載のキット。
- 前記フロントガラスワイパーの前記コーティングされたブレード要素が、ウェット条件、ドライ条件、又はウェット条件とドライ条件との組合せのもとで一定数のワイプサイクル後に前記表面を疎水性にすることができる、請求項6に記載のキット。
- 前記表面がフロントガラスである、請求項6~10のいずれか一項に記載のキット。
- 前記基体が織布材料又は不織布材料から作製される、請求項6~10のいずれか一項に記載のキット。
- 前記基体がスパンレース又はメルトブローイングによって形成される、請求項6~10のいずれか一項に記載のキット。
- 前記基体がポリエステル又はポリプロピレンから作られる、請求項6~10のいずれか一項に記載のキット。
- 前記ブレードが、少なくともクロロプレンゴム、天然ゴム、若しくはシリコーン又はそれらの任意の組合せの材料で形成される、請求項6~10のいずれか一項に記載のキット。
- フロントガラス上で撥水剤を活性化する方法であって、
フロントガラスワイパーのブレードを請求項1に記載の組成物を有するアプリケーターと接触させることと、
数分又は150ワイプサイクル以内で、ウェット条件、ドライ条件、又はウェット条件とドライ条件との組合せで水接触角60度超の撥水性までワイピングして、前記フロントガラスを活性化することと、
を含む、方法。 - 前記接触させることが、前記アプリケーターのチャネル又はスロットを前記ブレードと位置合わせし、前記撥水性組成物を前記ブレードに移行するために定常圧力を加えながら前記ブレードの長さにわたって前記アプリケーターを動かすことを更に含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記接触させることが、前記アプリケーターのチャネル又はスロットを前記ブレードと位置合わせし、前記撥水性組成物を前記ブレードに移行するために定常圧力を加えながら前記ブレードの長さにわたって前記アプリケーターを動かして前記ブレードを同時にワイプクリーニングすることを更に含む、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 前記アプリケーターがスクラブパッドを更に備え、前記方法が、前記スクラブパッドを用いて前記フロントガラスをクリーニングすることを更に含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
