Claims (16)
- 内側シールキャリアと外側シールキャリアとの間に位置決めされたシール要素を含む真空ポンプに使用されるシールであって、前記内側シールキャリア及び前記外側シールキャリアは、前記シール要素の内面及び外面にそれぞれ位置付けられ、前記シール要素並びに内側及び外側シールキャリアの各々は、実質的にドーナツ形状であり、前記外側シールキャリアは、前記シール要素を適切な位置に保持する保持手段を含み、前記内側シールキャリアは、前記シール要素に隣接する表面に位置付けられた少なくとも1つの凹部を含み、前記シール要素は、内面に少なくとも1つの突起部を含み、前記突起部は、前記内側シールキャリアの少なくとも1つの凹部の中に延びる、ことを特徴とするシール。
- 前記シール要素は、少なくとも3つの突起部を含む、請求項1に記載のシール。
- 前記少なくとも1つの突起部は、前記シール要素の前記内面の周りに延びる単一の連続した突起部を含む、請求項1に記載のシール。
- 前記少なくとも1つの凹部は、前記シール要素に隣接する前記内側シールキャリアの外面の周りに延びる連続溝を含む、請求項1から3のいずれかに記載のシール。
- 前記少なくとも1つの突起部及び前記少なくとも1つの凹部の寸法は、使用時、前記シールが圧縮される場合に、前記少なくとも1つの突起部が、前記少なくとも1つの凹部の中に更に延びるようになっている、請求項1から4のいずれかに記載のシール。
- 前記シール要素並びに前記内側及び外側シールキャリアの各々は、少なくとも約190℃、好ましくは約200℃~約250℃の温度に耐える材料で構成される、請求項1から5のいずれかに記載のシール。
- 前記シール要素は、エラストマー、好ましくはシリコーン系ポリマーで構成される、請求項1から6のいずれかに記載のシール。
- 前記内側シールキャリアは、セラミック又は金属材料で構成される、請求項1から7のいずれかに記載のシール。
- 真空ポンプステータシール、例えば、乾燥真空ポンプステータシールである、請求項1から8のいずれかに記載のシール。
- 真空ポンプに使用されるシールシステムであって、前記シールシステムは、請求項1~9のいずれかで定義したようなシール及び前記シールの両側に位置決めされた第1及び第2のフランジを含む、シールシステム。
- ガスを供給するための手段をさらに含み、前記第1のフランジは、入口ポートを備え、使用時、前記ガスが、前記入口ポートを通って、前記シール要素、内側シールキャリア、並びに第1及び第2のフランジの表面によって定められた前記シールシステム内の空洞の中に給送される、請求項10に記載のシールシステム。
- 前記ガスは、不活性ガスであり、好ましくは窒素である、請求項11に記載のシールシステム。
- フランジ並びに前記内側及び外側シールキャリアは、単一の物体として提供される、請求項10から12のいずれかに記載のシールシステム。
- 請求項1~9のいずれかで定義されるようなシール又は請求項10~13のいずれかで定義されるようなシールシステムを含む真空ポンプであって、前記真空ポンプは、好ましくは乾燥真空ポンプである、真空ポンプ。
- 真空ポンプに使用されるシールシステムの耐薬品性を高めるための方法であって、請求項1~9のいずれかで定義されるようなシール又は請求項10~13のいずれかで定義されるようなシールシステムを真空ポンプに適合する段階を含み、例えば、請求項1~9のいずれかで定義されるような前記シール又は請求項10~13のいずれかで定義されるような前記シールシステムは、既存のシールを置き換えるように既存の真空ポンプに適合される、方法。
- 前記真空ポンプの使用時に不活性ガスを前記シールシステムに供給する段階を更に含み、前記不活性ガスは、好ましくは窒素である、請求項15に記載の方法。
