本開示では、複数の金属カチオンと、複数のポリトピック有機リンカーとを含む結晶性金属有機構造体が合成され、複数のポリトピック有機リンカーの各ポリトピック有機リンカーが、複数の金属カチオンの2つ以上の金属カチオンに接続され、結晶性金属有機構造体は、1つ以上の細孔チャネルによって特徴付けられる。いくつかのそのような実施形態では、複数のポリトピック有機リンカーを、式MnXmの化合物と反応させ、式中、Mは、カチオン性Be、Mg、Ca、Ti、V、Cr、Mn、Fe、Co、Ni、Cu、Zn、Zr、Nb、Mo、Ru、Rh、Pd、Cd、またはHfであり、Xは、塩基性アニオンであり、nは、正の整数(例えば、1、2など)であり、mは、正の整数(例えば、1、2など)である。いくつかの実施形態では、nは1または2であり、mは1または2である。反応させることは、塩基性アニオンのpKaがリンカーの最低pKa値に相当する閾値未満であるとき(例えば、少なくとも1つのpKa値がこの閾値を下回る場合、例えば、3.5)、反応させることは、金属配位官能基を欠くバッファの存在下にある。塩基性アニオンのpKaが、その閾値を超えているとき、反応させることは、任意選択的に、このバッファの存在下にはない。このようにして、(例えば、1つ以上の結晶学的方向またはそれらの線形結合において)金属有機構造体の結晶成長の量を制御する。例えば、いくつかの実施形態では、c方向における金属有機構造体の結晶成長は、それらが5未満、2未満、または1.3未満の平均長さの幅に対するアスペクト比を有する結晶の形態である。

Claims (34)
- 複数のカチオンおよび複数のポリトピック有機リンカーを含む結晶性金属有機構造体を合成する方法であって、前記複数のポリトピック有機リンカーの各ポリトピック有機リンカーが、前記複数のカチオンの2つ以上のカチオンに接続され、前記方法が、
前記複数のポリトピック有機リンカーを、式MnXmの1つ以上の化合物と反応させることを含み、
式中、Mが、カチオン性Be、Mg、Ca、Ti、V、Cr、Mn、Fe、Co、Ni、Cu、Zn、Zr、Nb、Mo、Ru、Rh、Pd、Cd、Hfであり、
Xが、塩基性アニオンであり、
nが、正の整数であり、
mが、正の整数であり、
前記塩基性アニオンのpKa値が、閾値付近または閾値未満であるとき、前記反応させることが、金属配位官能基を欠くバッファの存在下にあり、前記塩基性アニオンの前記pKa値が、閾値または閾値を超えているとき、前記反応させることが、任意選択的に、金属配位官能基を欠くバッファの存在下にはなく、それによって、1つ以上の結晶学的方向に沿ってまたはそれらの線形結合に沿って、前記金属有機構造体の結晶成長の量を制御し、前記閾値が、前記ポリトピック有機リンカーの最低pKaによって決定される、方法。 - R1およびR2が、各々、水素である、請求項2に記載の方法。

4,4’’−ジオキシド−[1,1’:4’,1’’−テルフェニル]−3,3’’−ジカルボキシレート(dotpdc4−)、
ジオキシドビフェニル−4,4’−ジカルボキシレート(パラ−カルボキシレート−dobpdc4−、pc−dobpdc4−とも称される)、
2,5−ジオキシドベンゼン−1,4−ジカルボキシレート(dobdc4−)、
4,6−ジオキシド−1,3−ベンゼンジカルボキシレート(m−dobdc4−)、
1,3,5−ベンゼントリステトラゾレート(BTT)、
1,3,5−ベンゼントリストリアゾレート(BTTri)、
1,3,5−ベンゼントリスピラゾレート(BTP)、または
1,3,5−ベンゼントリスカルボキシレート(BTC)である、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記複数のポリトピック有機リンカーの各ポリトピック有機リンカーが、2,5−ジオキシド−1,4−ベンゼンジカルボキシレート(dobdc4−)である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記式MnXmの1つ以上の化合物における化合物が、マグネシウム(II)金属塩、マンガン(II)金属塩、鉄(II)金属塩、コバルト(II)金属塩、ニッケル(II)金属塩、亜鉛(II)金属塩、またはカドミウム(II)金属塩である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記式MnXmの1つ以上の化合物における化合物が、硝酸コバルト(II)、塩化コバルト(II)、酢酸コバルト(II)、硫酸コバルト(II)、ヨウ化コバルト(II)、臭化コバルト(II)、トリフルオロスルホン酸コバルト(II)、テトラフルオロホウ酸コバルト(II)、アセチルアセトン酸コバルト(II)、蟻酸コバルト(II)、またはそれらのハロゲン化誘導体である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記アニオンの前記pKaが、前記ポリトピック有機リンカーの前記最低pKa値を超える、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記塩基性アニオンが、ホルメートまたはアセテートであり、前記反応させることが、金属配位官能基を欠くバッファの存在下にはない、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記塩基性アニオンが、スルフェート、臭化物、ヨウ化物、またはトリフルオロスルホネートであり、前記反応させることが、金属配位官能基を欠くバッファの存在下にある、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記反応させることが、油浴を使用して、非シラン化ガラス容器で行われる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記反応させることが、官能化ガラス容器において行われ、それによって、前記結晶性金属有機構造体の相または形態を制御する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 反応させることが、良性表面の存在下で行われる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記良性表面が、プラスチックまたは鋼である、請求項19に記載の方法。
- 前記反応させることが、シラン化剤でシラン化されたガラス容器において行われる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記シラン化剤が、クロロトリメチルシラン、トリクロロヘキシルシラン、N,O−ビス(トリメチルシリル)アセトアミド、またはそれらの混合物を含む、請求項21に記載の方法。
- 前記反応させることが、1:1のエタノール:H2O溶媒中で起こる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記反応させることが、25℃を超える温度で少なくとも1時間起こる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記反応させることが、25℃を超える温度で少なくとも8時間起こる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記反応させることが、金属配位官能基を欠く前記バッファの存在下にあり、金属配位官能基を欠く前記バッファが、PIPES、PIPPS、PIPBS、DEPP、DESPEN、MES、TEEN、PIPES、MOBS、DESPEN、またはTEMNである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記反応させることが、金属配位官能基を欠く前記バッファの存在下にあり、金属配位官能基を欠く前記バッファが、モルホリン、ピペラジン、エチレンジアミン、もしくはメチレンジアミンのアルキルまたはアルキルスルホネート誘導体である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記結晶性金属有機構造体の1つ以上の結晶学的方向に沿った、または前記結晶性金属有機構造体のそれらの線形結合に沿った前記金属有機構造体の結晶成長の量が、前記結晶性金属有機構造体が、平均長さの幅に対するアスペクト比が5未満を有する結晶の形態であるように、前記反応させることによって制御される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記結晶性金属有機構造体の1つ以上の結晶学的方向に沿った、または前記結晶性金属有機構造体のそれらの線形結合に沿った前記金属有機構造体の結晶成長の量が、前記結晶性金属有機構造体が、平均長さの幅に対するアスペクト比が2未満を有する結晶の形態であるように、制御される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記結晶性金属有機構造体の1つ以上の結晶学的方向に沿った、または前記結晶性金属有機構造体のそれらの線形結合に沿った前記金属有機構造体の結晶成長の量が、前記結晶性金属有機構造体が、平均長さの幅に対するアスペクト比が1.3未満を有する結晶の形態であるように、制御される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- nが、1であり、mが、1または2のいずれかである、請求項1〜30のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- mが、2以上である、請求項1〜30のいずれか一項に記載の方法。

- 前記結晶性金属有機構造体が、500ナノメートル〜1ミリメートルの長さを有する結晶を含む、請求項1〜33のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
