Abstract
Description

[1] 導管を有する流体流システム用の加熱装置であって、
少なくとも1つの加熱素子と、
前記導管の内側に配置され、前記導管内の前記少なくとも1つの加熱素子の動きを制限するように構成され、蛇行形状を画定し、前記少なくとも1つの加熱素子の長さの大部分に沿って前記少なくとも1つの加熱素子の向かい合った側面に配置される支持部材と、
を具備し
前記支持部材は、前記導管を通る流体流へ前記少なくとも1つの加熱素子からの熱伝達を増大させる加熱装置。
[2] 前記支持部材は、互いに平行でかつ前記流体流に平行な複数のシートを含むアセンブリである[1]記載の加熱装置。
[3] 前記少なくとも1つの加熱素子は、前記流体流の方向に対して直角の方向に沿って延びる[2]記載の加熱装置。
[4] 前記少なくとも1つの加熱素子は、螺旋形状、波形形状、コイル形状、ジグザグ形状、及びそれらの組み合わせからなるグループから選択される形状を有する[1]記載の加熱装置。
[5] 前記支持部材は、前記加熱素子の螺旋形状に従った螺旋形状に形成されたストリップを含む[4]記載の加熱装置。
[6] 前記加熱素子は、前記ストリップの部分の間に挟まれている[5]記載の加熱装置。
[7] 前記ストリップは、複数のリッジ及び溝を画定する波形ストリップである[5]記載の加熱装置。
[8] 前記波形ストリップは、複数の窪みをさらに画定する[7]記載の加熱装置。
[9] 前記窪みは、前記波形ストリップの前記リッジ及び溝に配置されている[8]記載の加熱装置。
[10] 前記支持部材は、前記ストリップを囲む外周壁をさらに含む[5]記載の加熱装置。
[11] 前記外周壁は、少なくとも1つの環状溝を画定する[10]記載の加熱装置。
[12] 前記導管は、排気ガス流路を画定する容器本体であり、前記外周壁は、前記容器本体の一部である[10]記載の加熱装置。
[13] 前記導管が排気ガス流路を画定する容器本体であり、前記外周壁は、前記容器本体とは別の構成要素であり、前記容器本体の内側に配置されている[10]記載の加熱装置。
[14] 前記外周壁は前記ストリップに固定されている[10]記載の加熱装置。
[15] 前記ストリップは、複数の接点で前記加熱素子に固定され、前記複数の接点は、前記ストリップの長さに沿って一定の間隔で離間され、前記間隔は、前記加熱素子の外径の10倍未満である[5]記載の加熱装置。
[16] 隣接する2つの前記接点間の前記加熱素子の部分に対する固有振動数は400Hzより大きい[15]記載の加熱装置。
[17] 前記加熱素子が抵抗線と前記抵抗線を囲むシースとを有し、前記加熱素子は、前記シースに対して約84ワット/平方インチを超える電力密度を有する[1]記載の加熱装置。
[18] 前記支持部材は、3.0インチ以下の間隔で配置された支持体を含む[1]記載の加熱装置。
[19] 前記接点の数は、前記加熱装置に亘る温度変化が200℃未満になるように選択される[1]記載の加熱装置。
Claims (19)
- 導管を有する流体流システム用の加熱装置であって、
少なくとも1つの加熱素子と、
前記導管の内側に配置され、前記導管内の前記少なくとも1つの加熱素子の動きを制限するように構成され、蛇行形状を画定し、前記少なくとも1つの加熱素子の長さの大部分に沿って前記少なくとも1つの加熱素子の向かい合った側面に配置される支持部材と、
を具備し
前記支持部材は、前記導管を通る流体流へ前記少なくとも1つの加熱素子からの熱伝達を増大させる加熱装置。 - 前記支持部材は、互いに平行でかつ前記流体流に平行な複数のシートを含むアセンブリである請求項1記載の加熱装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの加熱素子は、前記流体流の方向に対して直角の方向に沿って延びる請求項2記載の加熱装置。
- 前記少なくとも1つの加熱素子は、螺旋形状、波形形状、コイル形状、ジグザグ形状、及びそれらの組み合わせからなるグループから選択される形状を有する請求項1記載の加熱装置。
- 前記支持部材は、前記加熱素子の螺旋形状に従った螺旋形状に形成されたストリップを含む請求項4記載の加熱装置。
- 前記加熱素子は、前記ストリップの部分の間に挟まれている請求項5記載の加熱装置。
