Abstract
Description
項1. 少なくとも、基材層、ステンレス鋼箔、及び熱融着性樹脂層をこの順に備える積層体から構成されており、
前記ステンレス鋼箔の少なくとも前記熱融着性樹脂層側に、耐酸性皮膜層が形成されており、
前記耐酸性皮膜層は、前記ステンレス鋼箔の表面1m2当たり、リン化合物をリン換算で100mg以上含んでいる、電池用包装材料。
項2. 前記ステンレス鋼箔が、オーステナイト系のステンレス鋼である、項1に記載の電池用包装材料。
項3. 前記ステンレス鋼箔が、SUS304である、項1または2に記載の電池用包装材料。
項4. 前記耐酸性皮膜層が、樹脂を含んでいる、項1〜3のいずれかに記載の電池用包装材料。
項5. 前記樹脂が、フェノール樹脂である、項1〜4のいずれかに記載の電池用包装材料。
項6. 前記ステンレス鋼箔と前記熱融着性樹脂層との間に、接着層をさらに有する、項1〜5のいずれかに記載の電池用包装材料。
項7. 前記ステンレス鋼箔の厚みが、40μm以下である、項1〜6のいずれかに記載の電池用包装材料。
項8. 前記積層体の総厚みが、110μm以下である、項1〜7のいずれかに記載の電池用包装材料。
項9. 前記積層体の総厚みをT(μm)、前記ステンレス鋼箔の厚みをTS(μm)、JIS Z 1707:1997の規定に準拠した測定方法により測定される前記積層体の突刺し強さをF(N)とした場合に、
前記突刺し強さF(N)を、前記積層体の総厚みT(μm)で除した値が、0.3(N/μm)以上であり、
前記突刺し強さF(N)を、前記ステンレス鋼箔の厚みTS(μm)で除した値が、0.7(N/μm)以上である、項1〜8のいずれかに記載の電池用包装材料。
項10. 少なくとも、基材層、ステンレス鋼箔、及び熱融着性樹脂層がこの順となるように積層して積層体を得る工程を備えており、
前記ステンレス鋼箔として、少なくとも前記熱融着性樹脂層側に、耐酸性皮膜層が形成されており、前記耐酸性皮膜層が、前記ステンレス鋼箔の表面1m2当たり、リン化合物をリン換算で100mg以上含んでいるものを用いる、電池用包装材料の製造方法。
項11. 少なくとも正極、負極、及び電解質を備えた電池素子が、項1〜9のいずれかに記載の電池用包装材料により形成された包装体中に収容されている、電池。
また、ステンレス鋼箔を用いることによって生じやすいヒートシール後のヒートシール面の位置ズレなどによる気密性の悪化やシール強度の低下を効果的に抑制できる。
本発明の電池用包装材料は、少なくとも、基材層1、ステンレス鋼箔3、耐酸性皮膜層3b、及び熱融着性樹脂層4をこの順に有する積層体からなる。電池用包装材料が電池に使用される際には、基材層1が最外層側になり、熱融着性樹脂層4が最内層(電池素子側)になる。電池の組み立て時に、電池素子の周縁に位置する熱融着性樹脂層4同士を接面させて熱溶着することにより電池素子が密封され、電池素子が封止される。図1に示すように、本発明の電池用包装材料は、基材層1とステンレス鋼箔3との間に接着剤層2を有していてもよい。また、図2に示すように、本発明の電池用包装材料は、ステンレス鋼箔3と熱融着性樹脂層4との間に接着層5を有していてもよい。
[基材層1]
本発明の電池用包装材料において、基材層1は最外層側に位置する層である。基材層1を形成する素材については、絶縁性を備えるものであることを限度として特に制限されるものではない。基材層1を形成する素材としては、例えば、ポリエステル樹脂、ポリアミド樹脂、エポキシ樹脂、アクリル樹脂、フッ素樹脂、ポリウレタン樹脂、珪素樹脂、フェノール樹脂、ポリエーテルイミド樹脂、ポリイミド樹脂、ポリオレフィン樹脂及びこれらの混合物や共重合物等が挙げられる。
本発明の電池用包装材料において、接着剤層2は、基材層1とステンレス鋼箔3との接着性を高めることなどを目的として、必要に応じて設けられる層である。基材層1とステンレス鋼箔3とは直接積層されていてもよい。
(2)基材層1を黒色に着色する態様。当該態様においては、基材層を構成する樹脂に後述の黒色着色材を含ませて、基材層1を黒色に着色する。
(3)基材層1の内面(ステンレス鋼箔3の表面)に黒色の印刷層を設ける態様。当該態様においては、後述の黒色着色材を含むインキを用いて、基材層1の内面に黒色の印刷層を設ける。
(4)接着剤層2を黒色に着色する態様。当該態様においては、接着剤層2を構成する樹脂に後述の黒色着色材を含ませて、接着剤層2を黒色に着色する。
(5)接着剤層2とステンレス鋼箔との間に黒色の着色層を設ける態様。当該態様においては、後述の黒色着色材を含む樹脂を用いて、ステンレス鋼箔3の接着剤層2側の表面に黒色の着色層を設ける。
本発明の電池用包装材料において、ステンレス鋼箔3は、電池用包装材料の強度向上の他、電池内部に水蒸気、酸素、光等が侵入するのを防止するためのバリア層として機能する層である。
本発明の電池用包装材料においては、ステンレス鋼箔3の少なくとも熱融着性樹脂層4側に、耐酸性皮膜層が形成されており、当該耐酸性皮膜層は、ステンレス鋼箔3の表面1m2当たり、リン化合物をリン換算で100mg以上含んでいる。これにより、突刺し強さが高く、耐電解液性にも優れた電池用包装材料となっている。
本発明の電池用包装材料において、熱融着性樹脂層4は、最内層に該当し、電池の組み立て時に熱融着性樹脂層4同士が熱溶着して電池素子を密封する層である。熱融着性樹脂層4は、複数の層により形成されていてもよい。
本発明の電池用包装材料においては、ステンレス鋼箔3と熱融着性樹脂層4とを強固に接着させることなどを目的として、図2に示されるように、ステンレス鋼箔3と熱融着性樹脂層4との間に接着層5をさらに設けてもよい。接着層5は、1層により形成されていてもよいし、複数層により形成されていてもよい。
本発明の電池用包装材料の製造方法については、所定の組成の各層を積層させた積層体が得られる限り、特に制限されないが、例えば、少なくとも、基材層、ステンレス鋼箔、及び熱融着性樹脂層がこの順となるように積層して積層体を得る工程を備えており、ステンレス鋼箔として、少なくとも熱融着性樹脂層側に、耐酸性皮膜層が形成されており、当該耐酸性皮膜層が、ステンレス鋼箔の表面1m2当たり、リン化合物をリン換算で100mg以上含んでいるものを用いる方法が挙げられる。より具体的には、以下の方法が例示される。
一方の電池用包装材料:基材層1(ナイロン層)/接着剤層2(2液硬化型ポリエステル樹脂層)/耐酸性皮膜層を備えるステンレス鋼箔3/接着層5(酸変性ポリプロピレン層)/熱融着性樹脂層4(ポリプロピレン層)他方の電池用包装材料:基材層1(アクリル−ウレタンコート層)/耐酸性皮膜層を備えるステンレス鋼箔3/接着層5(フッ素系樹脂層)/熱融着性樹脂層4(ポリプロピレン)
本発明の電池用包装材料は、正極、負極、電解質等の電池素子を密封して収容するための包装材料として使用される。
(2)基材層1を黒色に着色する態様。当該態様においては、基材層を構成する樹脂に後述の黒色着色材を含ませて、基材層1を黒色に着色する。
(3)基材層1の内面(ステンレス鋼箔3の表面)に黒色の印刷層を設ける態様。当該態様においては、後述の黒色着色材を含むインキを用いて、基材層1の内面に黒色の印刷層を設ける。
(4)接着剤層2を黒色に着色する態様。当該態様においては、接着剤層2を構成する樹脂に後述の黒色着色材を含ませて、接着剤層2を黒色に着色する。
(5)接着剤層2とステンレス鋼箔との間に黒色の着色層を設ける態様。当該態様においては、後述の黒色着色材を含む樹脂を用いて、ステンレス鋼箔3の接着剤層2側の表面に黒色の着色層を設ける。
基材層としてのポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET、厚み9μm)に、主剤がポリエステル樹脂、硬化剤がTDI系イソシアネートからなる接着剤をコーティングし(乾燥後の厚みが3μm)、乾燥後、表1に記載のリン化合物の含有量の耐酸性皮膜層(後述のリン酸クロメート処理で形成)を設けたバリア層(厚み20μm)を積層し、80℃で3日間エージング処理を行った。その後、もう片面に、酸変性したプロピレンとエチレン共重合体と低密度ポリエチレンがブレンドされた接着層(酸変性PP、厚み14μm)とランダムポリプロピレンからなる熱融着性樹脂層を共押出し法にて積層(厚み10μm)した。さらに接着力を上げるために、酸変性PPの軟化点以上の180℃で30秒加熱して、電池用包装材料を製造した。
アミノ化フェノール重合体、三価クロム化合物、及びリン化合物を含む処理液を、耐酸性皮膜層に含まれるリン化合物の含有量(リン換算)が表1に示す量となるように、ロールコート法によりステンレス鋼箔またはアルミニウム箔の表面に塗布し、皮膜温度が180℃以上となる条件で20秒間焼付けすることにより行った。なお、耐酸性皮膜層に含まれるリン化合物(リン換算)の含有量は、島津製作所社製蛍光X線分析装置XRF−1800によって測定した値であり、表1には、5箇所(N=5)について測定した最大値と最小値を示す。なお、リン化合物の含有量(リン換算)(mg/m2)の実測値は、リン化合物の含有量が既知の耐酸性皮膜層について、蛍光X線分析装置でリン化合物の強度を測定して、質量と強度との関係について検量線を作成し、当該検量線から算出することができる。
上記で得られた各電池用包装材料を、15mm×80mmの長方形に裁断して試験片を作製した。次に、電解液(1M LiPF6 となるようにしたエチレンカーボネート、ジエチルカーボネート、ジメチルカーボネート(1:1:1))80mlを入れたガラス瓶の中に、各試験片を投入し、85℃のオーブン内で所定時間(それぞれ、表1に記載の時間)放置した。次に、試験片を電解液から取りだし、オートグラフ(SHIMAZU AUTOGRAPH AG−X Plus)を用いて、バリア層とシーラント層とを剥離して、引張強度を測定した。なお、引張強度の測定条件は、引張方向:180°、引張速度:50mm/分、測定雰囲気:室温とした。結果を表1に示す。
上記で得られた各電池用包装材料を裁断し、120mm×80mmの短冊片を作製して、これを試験サンプルとした。突刺し試験機(イマダ社製のMX2-500N)を用い、JIS Z 1707:1997に準拠した方法により、各試験サンプルの突刺し強さを測定した。結果を表1に示す。

前記耐酸性皮膜層は、前記ステンレス鋼箔の表面1m2当たり、リン化合物をリン換算で100mg以上含んでいる、電池用包装材料。
