Abstract
Description
図1に示すように、インクジェットプリンタ1は、プラテン2、キャリッジ3、インクジェットヘッド4、搬送機構5、及びコントローラ6を主に備えている。
次に、ヘッドユニット25の構成について詳細に説明する。尚、4つのヘッドユニット25はそれぞれ同じ構成を有するため、以下では、4つのヘッドユニット25のうちの1つについて説明する。

なお、上記の式(1)によって算出した結果、減衰係数ζの値は図4に示されるように、0.02〜0.10の範囲に分散したが、減衰係数ζが高い場合、圧力が速やかに減衰するため、ノズルから吐出されるインク滴の体積が小さくなり、印刷効率が低下する。このため、個別流路の流路設計としては、ζの値は0.08以下であることが好ましい。

Claims (7)
- ノズルと圧力室とを含む個別流路が形成された流路部材と、
前記圧力室と対向するように前記流路部材に配置され、前記個別流路内の液体に圧力を付与する圧電素子と、
複数のパルス波形からなる駆動信号を前記圧電素子に供給するドライバとを備え、
前記圧電素子は、1つの前記パルス波形により、前記圧力室を減圧した後前記圧力室を加圧するように、引き打ち方式で駆動され、
前記ノズルの径をφμm、前記個別流路の減衰係数をζ、前記個別流路の共振周波数と最も共振するパルス波形の長さALμsにて前記ノズルから前記液体の液滴を吐出した際の液滴速度をValm/sとしたとき、
φx0.92+ζx167.51−20.75≧Valを満たし、
ζは0.08以下である液体吐出装置。 - 前記ノズルの開口の形状は円形である請求項1に記載の液体吐出装置。
- 前記流路部材は、接着剤で接合された複数のプレートにより形成されている請求項1又は2に記載の液体吐出装置。
- 前記個別流路はさらに、
前記圧力室と接続された一端、及び、前記ノズルと接続された他端を有する第1流路、及び
前記圧力室と接続された一端、及び、前記ノズルとは接続されていない他端を有する第2流路の少なくとも一方を含む請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の液体吐出装置。 - 前記個別流路は、前記第1流路及び前記第2流路の両方を含み、
前記第1流路の流路抵抗は、前記第2流路の流路抵抗よりも小さい請求項4に記載の液体吐出装置。 - 前記流路部材は、前記ノズルが形成されたノズルプレートと、前記ノズルプレートとは異なる材料で形成され、前記ノズルプレートに接合された流路プレートとを含み、
前記ノズルプレートの剛性は、前記流路プレートの剛性よりも小さい請求項1又は2に記載の液体吐出装置。 - 前記個別流路の少なくとも一部は、前記複数のプレートのうちのいずれかのプレートをハーフエッチングすることにより形成されている請求項3に記載の液体吐出装置。
