Abstract

方式)(2)材料の表面から熱伝導を利用して一方のみに発熱体を構成する片面加熱、(3)接着面付近に局部発熱をさせる方法(・超音波、・電磁誘導発熱、・電界損発熱、・熱風吹き付け等)に大別できる。
各加熱温度の標本を引張試験で計測した結果をプロットすると図1示すように加熱温度と加熱速さ(Hishinuma効果)がパラメータになっていることが分かる。
(2)95%の応答がTsとなる加熱温度(Tsの約1.05倍)にした場合の溶着面(接着面)応答を示している。その時の到達時間を(tb)と称した。
(3)95%よりも短時間でTsに到達させるために加熱温度を(Ts×1.5)に上昇させた場合の溶着面(接着面)応答を示している。その時の到達時間群を(ta)と称した。
(4)、(5)は更に短時間でTsに到達させるための加熱温度値を変更した場合である。特徴は次項で説明する。
(1)平衡温度(Tc)加熱:ワークの接着面が加熱体の表面温度に平衡収斂する原理を利用する。加熱完了までに他の方法より長い時間がかかるが、本質の温度値の操作ができる。ラボでのヒートシール試験には専らこの方法が選択されている。
(2)95%到達点(Tb)加熱:(加熱体表面温度−環境温度)×95%+環境温度を目標温度にして、加熱時間を設定する。平衡温度との温度差は5℃以内であり、加熱時間の制御バラツキに対する温度バラツキは2℃以内に収まるので時間設定調節式(以下、「限時式」という。)での実用性が高い。
(3)高速立ち上がり域(Ta)の利用:所望の加熱温度に到達する時間が小さく、一操作が短時間で終了できるので、生産性は高い。95%到達点(Tb)の温度傾斜は≒3℃/0.1sに対して、0.4〜0.5sの加熱域の立ち上がりは≒10℃/0.1sの高速である。
安定した熱接着の品質維持には、本質的なパラメータである溶着面(接着面)温度の直接的な制御技術の開発が期待されている。
図3にヒートジョー方式の概要図を示した。図3(a)は一対の加熱体の加熱温度を同一に調節した場合のワーク内の温度分布の変化を示している。

ここに、Tbは、前述の95%到達点の温度であり、T1とT2は各加熱体の表面温度である。nは

で示され、kは抵抗とコンデンサで構成される1次遅れの電気回路で定義されるk=RCである。図4の回路図ではR=R1+R3+r1,C=C3になる。tは時間である。
(1)両面加熱の特徴:発熱源を内蔵した一対の金属体の圧接加熱で、ワークの表面から材料の熱伝導を利用し接着面の加熱を行う。一対の発熱体の材料との接触面温度を同一にすれば、環境温度等の他の要素の影響を受けることなく接着面温度を加熱体表面温度に平衡化できる特長を持っている。
(2)片面加熱の特徴:片面加熱は一方が発熱体、他方は発熱機能のない常温の受圧板で構成されるから、加熱流は発熱体の表面温度と常温の受圧板の温度差に比例した一方向の熱流が接着面を通過する。平衡状態では、加熱側と受圧側の表面温度差の1/2付近に平衡する。しかし、加熱時間が長くなると通過した加熱流による受圧板の表面温度は徐々に上昇する。上昇分の約1/2は、接着面温度の変化に直接的に関係し、加熱時間と共に徐々に上昇するので、的確な接着面温度調節の阻害になる。インパルスシール方式は片面加熱になる。
発熱素子と受け台の間にヒートシール材料を挟んでヒートシールするインパルス加熱を用い、該インパルス装置の発熱素子がヒートシール材料と接する側の面にカバー材を設けるとともに、該カバー材のヒートシール材料と接する側の面に微細温度センサを取り付け、該微細温度センサが検出する温度によって、発熱素子の印加電源のOn-Off調節することを特徴とするヒートシール方法を提供するものである。
本発明では加熱体のカバー材7−1、7−2(例、0.15mm Teflon平滑シート)の表面温度(界面温度)がワークへの熱流によって温度降下することに着目して、溶着面温度応答のシミュレーションをする。その測定例を図5に示した。
作動前のカバー材の表面温度は室温にさらされ放熱しているので、加熱体の表面温度より低い値を示している。(140℃調節に対して≒130℃)(図5参照)
実施事例(図15)で詳細な説明をした。
熱接着の熱伝達現象を電気回路に置き換えてその特性を解析する。図5の熱流現象の応答を電気回路に書き換えたものを図6に示した。

となる。インパルスシールはこれに相当する。
カバー材の熱抵抗R1は加熱流検知に直接的に係る。値が大きくなると温度降下が大きくなるので、加熱流の検出感度は高くなる。しかし、この熱抵抗が大きくなれば熱流は抑制されるので、加熱源の高温化になるので好ましくない。
R1/(R1+R3+r1)を1/4〜1/5の割合に選択する。
そこで、間欠動作間隔に合わせた本発明の適用法を考案した。
図7に示したように、現場の包装機では、圧着操作を独立に操作することは少なく、機械の間欠動作に合わせたカム/リンク機構から決まる加熱時間の制約になっている。間欠動作の100%到達時間に調節温度を合わせれば、必要以上な加熱体温度の高温化設定を避けることができる。
インパルスシーラでは発熱体の熱容量が小さいので、主にワークの厚さによる熱負荷容量の影響で発熱特性(速さ)が変動する特徴がある。
ワークの溶着面温度は発熱素子温度T2と受け台温度T1の温度差で決まる(式(1)参照)。受け台温度T1が変動すれば、加熱部温度T2を精密に調節しても、溶着面温度は一定にならない。実際にはT1の変動分の≒1/2を増加減して、温度調節計20の設定値を受け台温度センサ17の出力信号で、カスケード制御補正する(図12参照)。
本発明が対象とする加熱時間帯のは、おおよそ0.2s以上としている。
密封と易開封の同時達成は永年のヒートシール技法の究極的な課題であった(ASTM F88,1968年制定に提起)。
(1)発熱素子27と同一材料(ニクロム)の線材を選択する。
(2)(高さ;0.3mmの場合)0.9mmの線材を半割のかまぼこ型21に加工して、それを発熱素子27の70〜80%付近に薄いナイロンの薄膜22で粘着固定する。端末は発熱素子27と並列に加熱電源に接続する(図14(a))。
(3)発熱素子27の長手方向の中央付近に≒0.5mmの半円の溝加工24をして、
0.8mmの線材23を嵌め込み薄いナイロンの薄膜22で粘着固定する。端末は
発熱素子と並列に加熱電源に接続する(図14(b))。
(4)発熱素子全体を所定の形状の一体の引き抜き材25製作をする(図14(c))。
(5)突起部と平面部の発熱を均一にするために線材21,23と発熱素子27との間に絶縁膜25を配することもできる。又は線材20,23の表面又は発熱
素子27体の表面を薄い絶縁被膜で覆ってもよい。
(6)次に平面部分に、厚さ0.03〜0.2mmのTeflon平滑シートを貼り付け、加熱流検出カバー材D28を設ける。
(7)界面温度検出用の約50μmΦの熱電対29を中央付近のカバー材の表面に貼り付ける。
(8)対面の受け台16上には段差部の凹凸を吸収するために、硬さA50〜80、厚さ3〜5mm厚の弾性体16−2を配置する。
ヒートジョー方式への適用の性能試験
図4に示した構成に実際の条件を設定して性能を試験した。

(1)加熱体にヒートパイプを装着したので、長手方向の温度斑が1℃以内となりヒートシール面の加熱能力が均一になった。
(2)140℃の加熱体表面温度設定に対して、熱流検出カバー材の待機時の表面温度は135℃であった。
(3)圧着開始直後の界面温度は115℃附近まで下降した後、連続的に上昇を始めた。一旦の下降量はワークの熱容量(厚さ)の大小で変動する。
(4)溶着面温度は圧着直後から上昇を始める。圧着時間が0.27s以降になると界面温度と溶着面温度応答の差は2℃以内となり、界面温度値と溶着面温度値が同等になるので、界面温度で溶着面温度が近似できるようになる。
(5)この加熱の溶着面温度応答のCUT;95%は0.81sであった。
(6)0.44s時点で、界面温度応答(≒溶着面温度応答)設定値の130℃を検出し、ジョーの動作を開放した。オーバーランは殆どなく、溶着面温度は130℃で止まった。
(7)0.44sの短時間の加熱状態で溶着面温度を直接制御できることを確認した。
(8)同じ、加熱条件で115℃の調節をするには、界面温度応答と溶着面温度応答のシミュレーションデータを参照して、界面温度が121℃を調節点とすれば≒0.17sでジョーを開放すればよいことになる。
インパルスシールへの適用事例
インパルシールでは発熱素子にステップ状の電圧を操作毎に加え、発熱素子の温度上昇を利用する。従って、加熱はステップ状ではなくランプ状になる。

(7)接着状態の検査:引張試験、探傷液の漏れ試験
(8)圧着圧:約0.1MPa
(1)供試シーラを作動状態にする
(2)材料(ワーク)を室温状態にして置く。
(3)シーラを10〜30s毎に作動させ、発熱素子と受圧板の温度がドリフト状態を現出させる。
(4)発熱素子の温度応答、受圧板の温度応答、界面温度応答、ワークの溶着面温度応答を“MTMS”キットで計測する。
(5)高速型温度調節計でカバー材とワークの境界面温度を微細センサで検出し、所望温度になったら制御出力で発熱素子の駆動電源をOFFにする。
(6)各部の温度応答の計測結果から本発明の性能を評価する。
(1)“MTMS”キットによって計測した各部の温度応答の記録を図16に示した。
(2)受け台の始発温度が40〜60℃と変動している条件で、調節温度/加熱時間は、155.3℃/1.12s、155.2℃/0.92s、155.4℃/1.12s、155.0/1.00sが得られた。
(3)加熱時間は0.92〜1.12sとなっており、所望温度調節値への到達にバラツキのあることを確認でき、時間制御の欠陥を証明できている。
(4)この結果から、所望溶着面温度に対する境界面温度を決定して、その値に調節操作のオーバーラン値、受け台温度のドリフト値を補正すれば、界面温度の検知で溶着面温度の調節が可能であることを証明できた。
受け台温度の変動を補正するカスケード制御短時間の繰返し生産操作を行うと受け台に到達した加熱流が蓄熱し、受け台の温度は徐々に上昇する。片面加熱の受け台の影響は前述の式(1)で定義できるので、受け台温度を常時監視すれば、受け台温度の変動を補正できる。
(1)受け台表面に微細センサを常時装着する。
(2)受け台温度の基準値を30℃とした。
(3)10〜30秒加熱操作を繰り返す。
(4)次の操作の直前の受け台温度の表示を確認し、(Tx-30)/2を所望の設定値に手動補正をした。(カスケード制御の手動操作)
(5)(4)の補正操作によって、溶着面温度の制御結果を2℃以内のバラツキに抑えられた。
(6)受け台の表面に温度センサを常時装着して、受け台温度で調節計の設定値を自動で変更するカスケード制御を図ることができる(図12参照)。

Claims (6)
- 1対の加熱体の間にヒートシール材料を挟んでヒートシールするヒートシール装置を用い、該ヒートシール装置の少なくとも一方の加熱体のヒートシール材料と接する側の面にカバー材を設けるとともに、該カバー材のヒートシール材料と接する側の面に微細温度センサを取り付け、該微細温度センサが検出する温度によって溶着面(接着面)温度調節することを特徴とするヒートシール方法
- 1対の加熱体の間にヒートシール材料を挟んでヒートシールするヒートシール装置において、少なくとも一方の加熱体のヒートシール材料と接する側の面にカバー材が設けられ、該カバー材のヒートシール材料と接する側の面に微細温度センサが取り付けられ、該微細温度センサの検出結果に基いて、加熱体を進退させる作動機構又は加熱体の加熱機構を調整する制御機構が設けられていることを特徴とするヒートシール装置
- 発熱素子と受け台の間にヒートシール材料を挟んでヒートシールするインパルスを用い、該インパルス装置の発熱素子シール装置のヒートシール材料と接する側の面にカバー材を設けるとともに、該カバー材のヒートシール材料と接する側の面に微細温度センサを取り付け、該微細温度センサが検出する温度によって溶着面(接着面)温度を調節することを特徴とするヒートシール方法
- インパルスシール装置の受け台の温度を検出して加熱温度の設定値をカスケード制御する請求項3記載のヒートシール方法
- 発熱素子と受け台の間にヒートシール材料を挟んでヒートシールするインパルスシール装置において、発熱素子のヒートシール材料と接する側の面にカバー材が設けられ、該カバー材のヒートシール材料と接する側の面に微細温度センサが取り付けられ、該微細温度センサの検出結果に基いて発熱素子へ供給する電気量を制御する制御機構が設けられていることを特徴とするヒートシール装置
- 受け台のヒートシール材料と接する側の面にも微細温度センサが取り付けられ、微細温度センサの検出結果も制御機構に送られるように構成されている請求項5記載のヒートシール装置
