Abstract
Description
(1)アイオノマー樹脂がナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーであり;
(2)接着促進添加剤がジアルコキシシラン化合物であり;
(3)ジアルコキシシラン化合物がアイオノマー樹脂の重量を基準として約50〜約5000重量ppmの範囲の量で樹脂組成物中に存在する;
樹脂組成物を提供することによって上記課題に対処する。
(1)アイオノマー樹脂粒子のアイオノマー樹脂がナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーであり;
(2)接着促進添加剤がジアルコキシシラン化合物であり;
(3)ジアルコキシシラン化合物がアイオノマー樹脂100重量部を基準として約1〜約10重量部の範囲の量でマスターバッチ組成物中に存在し;
(4)ジアルコキシシラン化合物がアイオノマー樹脂粒子の表面に吸収されたものとして主に(または実質的に)樹脂組成物中に存在する;
粒子状マスターバッチ組成物を提供する。
前記方法は、
(A)(i)アイオノマー樹脂粒子と(ii)接着促進添加剤とを含有するマスターバッチ組成物を供給する工程であって:
(1)アイオノマー樹脂粒子のアイオノマー樹脂が第1のナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーであり、
(2)接着促進添加剤がジアルコキシシラン化合物であり、
(3)ジアルコキシシラン化合物がアイオノマー樹脂100重量部を基準として約1〜約10重量部の範囲の量でマスターバッチ組成物中に存在し、
(4)ジアルコキシシラン化合物がアイオノマー樹脂粒子の表面に吸収されたものとして主に(または実質的に)樹脂組成物中に存在する、
工程;並びに
(B)マスターバッチ組成物を、ある量の第2のナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーと混合して、アイオノマー樹脂の総重量を基準として約50〜約5000重量ppmの前記ジアルコキシシラン化合物の濃度を有する均質混合物を得る工程;
を含む。
(A)(i)表面を有するアイオノマー樹脂粒子と(ii)接着促進添加剤を供給する工程であって、(1)アイオノマー樹脂粒子のアイオノマー樹脂がナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーであり、(2)接着促進添加剤がジアルコキシシラン化合物である工程;並びに
(B)アイオノマー樹脂の非軟化条件下で粒子を接着促進添加剤と物理的に混合し、アイオノマー樹脂粒子の表面に吸収されたものとして主に(または実質的に)存在するジアルコキシシラン化合物を有する粒子を製造する工程;
を含み、ジアルコキシシラン化合物は、アイオノマー樹脂の総重量を基準として約50〜約5000重量ppmの濃度が樹脂組成物中で得られるような量で供給される。
アイオノマー
本発明によれば、アイオノマー樹脂は、ナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーであり、これは、エチレン由来の構成単位と、α,β−不飽和カルボン酸由来の構成単位と、以下で記載する任意選択的な他の構成単位とを有する樹脂を含み、この中のα,β−不飽和カルボン酸由来の構成単位の少なくとも一部がナトリウムイオンで中和されている。
(i)エチレン、及び
(ii)約10重量%から、または約15重量%から、または約18重量%から、または約20重量%から、約30重量%まで、または約25重量%まで、または約23重量%まで、または約22重量%までの、3〜10個の炭素原子を有する少なくとも1種のα,β−不飽和カルボン酸、
の共重合した単位を含む(これらから本質的になる)、少なくとも部分的にナトリウムで中和されたエチレン酸ジポリマーであり、
共重合した単位の重量パーセンテージはエチレン酸コポリマーの総重量基準であり、共重合した単位の重量パーセンテージの合計は100重量%であり、α,β−不飽和カルボン酸のカルボン酸基の少なくとも一部が中和されて、ナトリウム対イオンを有するカルボキシレート基を含むアイオノマーを形成する。
(i)エチレン、
(ii)約10重量%から、または約15重量%から、または約18重量%から、または約20重量%から、約30重量%まで、または約25重量%まで、または約23重量%まで、または約22重量%までの、3〜10個の炭素原子を有する少なくとも1種のα,β−不飽和カルボン酸、
(iii)約2重量%から、または約3重量%から、または約4重量%から、または約5重量%から、約15重量%まで、または約12重量%まで、または約11重量%まで、または約10重量%までの、3〜10個の炭素原子を有する少なくとも1種のα,β−不飽和カルボン酸エステル、及び
(iv)任意選択的な、(iii)+(iv)が約15重量%以下、または約12重量%以下、または約11重量%以下であるような量の(iii)以外のα,β−不飽和カルボン酸の誘導体、
の共重合した単位を含む、少なくとも部分的にナトリウムで中和されたエチレン酸ターポリマーであり、
共重合した単位の重量パーセンテージはエチレン酸コポリマーの総重量基準であり、共重合した単位の重量パーセンテージの合計は100重量%であり、α,β−不飽和カルボン酸のカルボン酸基の少なくとも一部が中和されて、ナトリウム対イオンを有するカルボキシレート基を含むアイオノマーを形成する。
本発明に従って使用するために適したシランは、ジアルコキシシランである。理論に拘束されるものではないが、シランの加水分解されたシラノール部分がガラス表面(シラノール)との接着結合を形成することができ、それによってポリマーとガラス表面との間の界面での接着力を高めると考えられる。その場合、シラン分子の残りの部分は、周囲のアイオノマー樹脂「マトリックス」と何らかの形である程度「固定」する必要がある。これを達成する1つの方法は、シランが化学的にまたはイオン結合または水素結合または十分なファンデルワールス力を介して結合できるような都合のよい形で相互作用するように、または立体的に中間層とガラス表面との間の「橋掛け」ができるような大きさ及び形状であるように、官能基を選択することであり、それにより有利なシラン添加剤なしで同じ中間層上での接着力が増加する。
シランの使用に加えて、望まれる場合には、ガラスなどへの中間層の接着を更に制御することも可能である。
前述したシラン及び他の接着力調節剤以外に、本発明の樹脂組成物及びマスターバッチは、例えば酸化防止剤、紫外線吸収剤、光安定剤、アンチブロッキング剤、顔料、染料、遮熱材料(赤外線吸収剤)など、またはこれらの混合物などの1種以上の他の添加剤を含有していてもよい。そのような他の添加剤は、一般的な意味で、関連分野の当業者に周知である。
本発明の樹脂組成物は、様々な組成物を押出機に供給し、例えば溶融押出または成形により最終的な形状へと最終的に形成できる実質的に均一な混合物を生成するためにアイオノマー樹脂の溶融条件下で成分を均質に混合することにより、溶融ブレンドとして製造することができる。
本発明の樹脂組成物のシートは、ガラス積層体用の中間層を製造するのに適した従来の溶融押出または溶融成形プロセスによって調製することができる。そのようなプロセスは、上で組み込まれた刊行物によって例示されているように、関連分野の当業者に周知である。
(i)芳香族ビニルポリマーブロックを基準として、約60mol%以上の芳香族ビニルモノマー単位を含む芳香族ビニルポリマーブロック(a)、及び
(ii)脂肪族不飽和ポリマーブロックを基準として、約60mol%以上の共役ジエンモノマー単位を含む脂肪族不飽和ポリマーブロック(b)、
を有するブロックコポリマーの水素化生成物であり、
脂肪族不飽和ポリマーブロック(b)は、共役ジエンモノマー単位としてイソプレン単位及びブタジエン単位を合計で約50mol%以上含み、
共役ジエンモノマー単位由来の脂肪族不飽和ポリマーブロックの残留炭素−炭素二重結合の量は、約2〜約40mol%である。
従来公知の方法によって本発明の積層体を製造することが可能である。その例としては、真空ラミネーターの使用、真空バッグの使用、真空リングの使用、ニップロールの使用などが挙げられる。加えて、仮圧着の後に得られた積層体を最終接着のためにオートクレーブに入れる方法が使用されてもよい。
シランを含む実施例については、以下の手法を利用した:
1200グラムのアイオノマー樹脂を、大きな口の金属ねじ蓋を備えた清浄なポリプロピレンプラスチック製容器(容量2ガロン)の中に0.1グラムの最も近くまで量り入れた。指示された濃度を得るための特定の量の液体シランを、適切な換気の下で、適切な実験室の安全慣行に従って、容器の中にピペットで入れた。次いで、容器を蓋で密閉し、手作業で2分間十分に振とうして、液体をアイオノマー樹脂ペレットの塊全体に分散させた。ブレンドの最初の調製から1時間後に混合物を1分間再び振とうし、吸収された樹脂をフィーダーのホッパーに供給する前に再度1分間振とうした。上の操作は、周囲の温度と湿度の条件で行った(名目上23C及び50%RHであるが、湿度が制御された環境ではない)。調製から約4時間以内に、以下のアイオノマーシート作製方法に記載されるように、較正されたオーガー式フィーダーによりシラン/樹脂ブレンドを押出機に供給した。
以下の方法により、各アイオノマーシートから積層ガラスを作製した。アニールしたガラス板(100x100x3mm)をリン酸三ナトリウム(5g/l)の脱イオン水溶液で50℃で5分間洗浄し、その後脱イオン水で十分にすすいでから乾燥した。表1に列挙されている各アイオノマーシート(それぞれ厚さ約0.76mm)それぞれの3つの層を積み重ね、2枚のガラス板の間に配置した(厚さ2.28mmの中間層を得るため)。
積層体を、WINDEXガラスクリーナー(S.C.Johnson&Son,Inc.)及びリントフリーの布を使用して十分にきれいにし、有効な光学測定の実施を妨げる可能性のある気泡及びその他の欠陥がないことを確認するために検査した。その後、Haze−gard Plusヘイズメーター(Byk−Gardner)により積層体を評価してヘイズのパーセント測定値を得た。ヘイズの測定は、米国国家規格(ANSI Z26.1−1966)「Safety Code for Safety Glazing Materials for Glazing Motor Vehicles Operating on Land Highways」に概説されている慣行に従った。前記規格の図5及び6と共に、セクション5.17及び5.18の試験では、光沢材料のヘイズレベルを測定するための適切な方法及び装置構成について詳しく説明されている。Haze−gard Plusヘイズメーターは、以降の全ての測定で使用したこの規格の適切な基準を満たしている。米国国立標準局(現在のNIST)で追跡可能なヘイズ標準を使用して、装置が十分に較正され適切に作動することを確認した。
引き剥がし粘着力の測定を可能にするために、以下の例外を除いて、いくつかのサンプルを上記の通りに作製した。
Claims (16)
- (i)アイオノマー樹脂と(ii)接着促進添加剤との均質混合物を含有する樹脂組成物であって:
(a)前記アイオノマー樹脂がナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーであり;
(b)前記接着促進添加剤がジアルコキシシラン化合物であり;
(c)前記ジアルコキシシラン化合物が前記アイオノマー樹脂の重量を基準として50〜5000重量ppmの範囲の量で前記樹脂組成物中に存在する;
前記樹脂組成物。 - 前記ジアルコキシシラン化合物が周囲温度で液体であることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記ジアルコキシシラン化合物が前記樹脂組成物内に実質的に均一に分布していることを特徴とする、請求項1または請求項2に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記ジアルコキシシラン化合物の各アルコキシ基がそれぞれ1〜3個の炭素原子を含む、及び/または前記ジアルコキシシラン化合物は前記アルコキシ基に加えて前記アイオノマー樹脂に結合するための活性化学基も含むことを特徴とする、請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記活性化学基がアミノ基及びグリシジル基から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項4に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記ジアルコキシシラン化合物が、N−β−(アミノエチル)−γ−アミノプロピルメチルジメトキシシラン及び3−グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシランから選択されることを特徴とする、請求項1に記載の樹脂組成物。
- 前記ナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーが、エチレン由来の構成単位と、α,β−不飽和カルボン酸由来の構成単位とを含み、前記α,β−不飽和カルボン酸由来の前記構成単位の少なくとも一部が対イオンで中和されており、前記対イオンがナトリウムカチオンから本質的になる、請求項1〜6のいずれか1項に記載の樹脂組成物。
- (A)前記ナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーが、
(i)エチレン、及び
(ii)10重量%〜30重量%の、3〜10個の炭素原子を有する少なくとも1種のα,β−不飽和カルボン酸、
の共重合した単位から本質的になるジポリマーであり、
前記共重合した単位の重量パーセンテージが前記エチレン酸コポリマーの総重量基準であり、前記共重合した単位の重量パーセンテージの合計が100重量%であり、前記α,β−不飽和カルボン酸のカルボン酸基の少なくとも一部が中和されて、ナトリウム対イオンを有するカルボキシレート基を含むアイオノマーを形成することを特徴とする、
または、
(B)前記ナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーが、
(i)エチレン、
(ii)10重量%〜30重量%の、3〜10個の炭素原子を有する少なくとも1種のα,β−不飽和カルボン酸、
(iii)2重量%〜15重量%の、3〜10個の炭素原子を有する少なくとも1種のα,β−不飽和カルボン酸エステル、及び
(iv)任意選択的な、(iii)+(iv)が15重量%以下であるような量の(iii)以外のα,β−不飽和カルボン酸の誘導体、
の共重合した単位から本質的になるターポリマーであり、
前記共重合した単位の重量パーセンテージが前記エチレン酸コポリマーの総重量基準であり、前記共重合した単位の重量パーセンテージの合計が100重量%であり、前記α,β−不飽和カルボン酸のカルボン酸基の少なくとも一部が中和されて、ナトリウム対イオンを有するカルボキシレート基を含むアイオノマーを形成することを特徴とする、
請求項8に記載の樹脂組成物。 - (i)アイオノマー樹脂粒子と(ii)接着促進添加剤とを含有する粒子状マスターバッチ組成物であって:
(a)前記アイオノマー樹脂粒子のアイオノマー樹脂がナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーであり;
(b)前記接着促進添加剤がジアルコキシシラン化合物であり;
(c)前記ジアルコキシシラン化合物が前記アイオノマー樹脂100重量部を基準として1〜10重量部の範囲の量で前記マスターバッチ組成物中に存在し;
(d)前記ジアルコキシシラン化合物が、前記アイオノマー樹脂粒子の表面に吸収されたものとして主に前記マスターバッチ組成物中に存在することを特徴とする、
前記粒子状マスターバッチ組成物。 - 前記ジアルコキシシラン化合物の各アルコキシ基がそれぞれ1〜3個の炭素原子を含む、及び/または前記ジアルコキシシラン化合物は前記アルコキシ基に加えて前記アイオノマー樹脂に結合するための活性化学基も含むことを特徴とする、請求項10に記載のマスターバッチ組成物。
- 前記活性化学基がアミノ基及びグリシジル基から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項11に記載のマスターバッチ組成物。
- 前記ジアルコキシシラン化合物が、N−β−(アミノエチル)−γ−アミノプロピルメチルジメトキシシラン及び3−グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシランから選択されることを特徴とする、請求項10に記載のマスターバッチ組成物。
- 前記ナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーが、エチレン由来の構成単位と、α,β−不飽和カルボン酸由来の構成単位とを含み、前記α,β−不飽和カルボン酸由来の前記構成単位の少なくとも一部が対イオンで中和されており、前記対イオンがナトリウムカチオンから本質的になる、請求項10〜13のいずれか1項に記載のマスターバッチ組成物。
- (A)前記ナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーが、
(i)エチレン、及び
(ii)10重量%〜30重量%の、3〜10個の炭素原子を有する少なくとも1種のα,β−不飽和カルボン酸、
の共重合した単位から本質的になるジポリマーであり、
前記共重合した単位の重量パーセンテージが前記エチレン酸コポリマーの総重量基準であり、前記共重合した単位の重量パーセンテージの合計が100重量%であり、前記α,β−不飽和カルボン酸のカルボン酸基の少なくとも一部が中和されて、ナトリウム対イオンを有するカルボキシレート基を含むアイオノマーを形成することを特徴とする、
または、
(B)前記ナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーが、
(i)エチレン、
(ii)10重量%〜30重量%の、3〜10個の炭素原子を有する少なくとも1種のα,β−不飽和カルボン酸、
(iii)2重量%〜15重量%の、3〜10個の炭素原子を有する少なくとも1種のα,β−不飽和カルボン酸エステル、及び
(iv)任意選択的な、(iii)+(iv)が15重量%以下であるような量の(iii)以外のα,β−不飽和カルボン酸の誘導体、
の共重合した単位から本質的になるターポリマーであり、
前記共重合した単位の重量パーセンテージが前記エチレン酸コポリマーの総重量基準であり、前記共重合した単位の重量パーセンテージの合計が100重量%であり、前記α,β−不飽和カルボン酸のカルボン酸基の少なくとも一部が中和されて、ナトリウム対イオンを有するカルボキシレート基を含むアイオノマーを形成することを特徴とする、
請求項14に記載のマスターバッチ組成物。 - (A)請求項10〜15のいずれか1項に記載のマスターバッチ組成物を供給する工程;及び
(B)前記マスターバッチ組成物を、ある量の第2のナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーと混合して、アイオノマー樹脂の総重量を基準として50〜5000重量ppmの前記ジアルコキシシラン化合物の濃度を有する均質混合物を得る工程;
を含む、樹脂組成物の製造方法。 - ナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーを含む層を含む中間層シートであって、
(A)前記中間層シートが34℃及び50%の相対湿度で前処理され、かつ前記ナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーの前記層が空気面とスズ面とを有するフロートガラス板の前記空気面に接着される場合に、前記フロートガラス板の前記空気面に接着した前記ナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーの前記層の引き剥がし粘着力が、少なくとも約20N/cmである(23℃及び50%RHで測定);及び/または
(B)前記中間層シートが34℃及び50%の相対湿度で前処理され、かつ前記ナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーの前記層が空気面とスズ面とを有するフロートガラス板の前記空気面に接着される場合に、前記フロートガラス板の前記空気面に接着した前記ナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーの前記層の引き剥がし粘着力が少なくとも約0.5である(湿潤状態の条件下);及び/または
(C)前記中間層シートが34℃及び50%の相対湿度で前処理され、かつ前記ナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーの前記層が空気面とスズ面とを有するフロートガラス板に接着される場合に、前記フロートガラス板の前記空気面に接着した場合の前記ナトリウムで中和されたエチレン−α,β−不飽和カルボン酸コポリマーの層の引き剥がし粘着力が、(i)約5N/cm超(23℃及び50%RHで測定)であり、(ii)前記フロートガラス板の前記スズ面に接着した場合(23℃及び50%RHで測定)よりも大きい;
ことを特徴とする、前記中間層シート。
