Abstract
Description
参考例1として、蓄電素子100が、第1面161のうち第1外装材131に接触する部分、及び第2面162のうち第2外装材132に接触する部分のいずれも、全面が第1方向d1に垂直な面上に広がっているシーラント160を有する場合について考える。図9は、上記の場合におけるタブ140、シーラント160、第1外装材131及び第2外装材132の第2方向d2に垂直な断面を示す断面図である。この場合、第1外装材131及び第2外装材132の第3方向d3におけるシーラント端部163の位置には、直角に折られた第1折れ部191が形成される。接合工程において、一度図9に示すように加熱部材を用いて押圧した第1外装材131及び第2外装材132は、加熱部材から離間した後、弾性による復元力のために、第1折れ部191での折れを解消して平面に戻るように変形しようとする。つまり、第1折れ部191において、第1外装材131及び第2外装材132は、シーラント端部163から離れるように変形しようとする。これによって、第1外装材131及び第2外装材132がシーラント端部163から剥離し、外装体130の収容部の気密性を維持できないおそれがある。
次に、参考例2として、蓄電素子100が、第1面161が中央平坦面1612及び側方平坦面1613を含み、同様に第2面162が中央平坦面1622及び側方平坦面1623を含むシーラント160を有する場合について考える。図10は、上記の場合におけるタブ140、シーラント160、第1外装材131及び第2外装材132の第2方向d2に垂直な断面を示す断面図である。この場合、図10に示すように、第1方向d1におけるシーラント端部163の幅が参考例1に比して小さくすることができる。このため、第1外装材131及び第2外装材132がシーラント端部163から離れるように変形しにくくなる。これによって、第1折れ部191における第1外装材131及び第2外装材132のシーラント端部163からの剥離を抑制することができる。しかしながら、参考例2においては、第3方向d3におけるシーラント160の中央平坦面1612,1622と側方平坦面1613,1623との間の位置において、第1外装材131及び第2外装材132に、直角に折られた第2折れ部192が形成される。この第2折れ部192において、復元力によって第1外装材131及び第2外装材132がシーラント160から剥離しやすくなってしまう。
次に、参考例3として、蓄電素子100が、第1面161が傾斜面1611、中央平坦面1612及び側方平坦面1613を含み、同様に第2面162が傾斜面1621、中央平坦面1622及び側方平坦面1623を含むシーラント160を有する場合について考える。図11は、上記の場合におけるタブ140、シーラント160、第1外装材131及び第2外装材132の第2方向d2に垂直な断面を示す断面図である。この場合、図11に示すように、傾斜面1611、1621によって第2折れ部192の角度を鈍角にすることができ、参考例2のように第1外装材131及び第2外装材132を直角に曲げる場合よりも、第1外装材131及び第2外装材132の復元力による変形を抑制することができる。これによって、第2折れ部192における第1外装材131及び第2外装材132のシーラント160からの剥離を抑制することができる。しかしながら、参考例3においては、シーラント160の第1面161及び第2面162のいずれもが、複数の折れを有している。このため、参考例3の蓄電素子100を製造する場合において、第1外装材131及び第2外装材132を押圧してシーラント160と接合するには、第1外装材131及び第2外装材132を、シーラント160の折れに対応するように折る必要が生じる。このため、第1外装材131及び第2外装材132のいずれも、押圧時に折れを形成する分だけ、上述の第1加熱部材81及び第2加熱部材82のような加熱部材に対して第3方向d3に位置ずれを生じさせる。この押圧時の位置ずれのため、第1外装材31及び第2外装材32を安定的に密着させて押圧できないおそれがあった。この場合、シーラント60と第1外装材31及び第2外装材32とを強く密着させた状態で接合することができず、第1外装材31及び第2外装材32がシーラント60から剥離しやすくなり、外装体30の収容部35の気密性を維持できないおそれがある。
上述の実施の形態においては、第1外装材31の周縁部314の全面が第1方向d1に垂直な面上に広がる例について説明した。しかしながら、外装材の形状はこれに限られない。図12は、外装材の変形例における外装材31,32の第2方向d2に垂直な断面を、タブ40及びシーラント60の断面とともに示す断面図である。本変形例に係る第1外装材31は、図12に示すように、シーラント端部63の少なくとも一部に接触するように折られている。また、第1外装材31は、第1方向d1におけるシーラント端部63の位置において、第2外装材32と接合されている。この場合においても、図12に示すように、第1外装材31は、少なくともシーラント60の第1面61に接触する部分においては折れを有しない。このため、押圧時に少なくともシーラント60の第1面61に接触する部分において、第1外装材31の位置ずれを抑制して、第1外装材31及び第2外装材32をより安定的に密着させて押圧することができる。
上述の実施の形態及び変形例においては、タブ40が、第2方向d2に垂直な断面において矩形の断面を示す例について説明した。しかしながら、タブ40の形状はこれに限られない。図13は、タブの変形例におけるタブ40の第2方向d2に垂直な断面を、シーラント60、第1外装材31及び第2外装材32の断面とともに示す断面図である。本変形例に係るタブ40は、図13に示すように、第3方向d3に対して傾斜するタブ傾斜面44を含む。タブ傾斜面44は、タブ40からみて、第1方向d1におけるシーラント60の第2面62が位置する側に位置する。図13に示す例において、タブ40は、第3方向d3における一方の側に位置するタブ傾斜面44と、他方の側に位置するタブ傾斜面44と、の2つのタブ傾斜面44を含む。タブ傾斜面44は、第2方向d2に垂直な断面において、第3方向d3においてシーラント60の傾斜面621と少なくとも部分的に重なるように設けられている。タブ傾斜面44の第3方向d3に対する傾斜角は、タブ傾斜面44と重なる傾斜面621の第3方向d3に対する傾斜角と一致してもよい。

Claims (9)
- 第1方向に積層された複数の電極と、
複数の前記電極を収容した外装体と、
少なくとも一つの前記電極に電気的に接続するとともに、前記第1方向に非平行な第2方向に沿って前記外装体の外部まで延びる、タブと、
前記外装体と前記タブとの間に設けられたシーラントと、を備え、
前記シーラントは、前記シーラントの前記第1方向における両側に位置する第1面及び第2面を有し、
前記シーラントの前記第1方向における一方の側に位置する前記第1面は、前記外装体に接触する全面において、前記第1方向に垂直な面上に広がり、
前記シーラントの前記第1方向における他方の側に位置する前記第2面は、前記第2方向に垂直な断面において、前記第1方向に垂直な第3方向に対して傾斜するとともに前記外装体と接触する傾斜面を、少なくとも部分的に含み、
前記タブは、前記第2方向に垂直な前記断面において、前記第3方向における端部を含み、
前記端部は、前記第2方向に垂直な前記断面において、前記第3方向において前記シーラントの前記傾斜面と重なるように設けられる、蓄電素子。 - 前記タブは、前記第1方向における前記他方の側に位置するとともに前記第3方向に対して傾斜するタブ傾斜面を含み、
前記タブ傾斜面は、前記第2方向に垂直な前記断面において、前記第3方向において前記傾斜面と少なくとも部分的に重なるように設けられる、請求項1に記載の蓄電素子。 - 前記シーラントの前記第2面は、前記第3方向において前記タブと少なくとも部分的に重なるように設けられて前記第1方向に垂直な面上に広がる中央平坦面を含み、
前記第2面の前記中央平坦面と前記タブとの距離は、前記第1面と前記タブとの距離よりも大きい、請求項1又は2に記載の蓄電素子。 - 前記外装体は、複数の前記電極を収容する収容部を画成するよう周縁部において互いに接合された第1外装材及び第2外装材を有し、
前記タブは、前記収容部から前記第1外装材と前記第2外装材との間を通って前記外装体の外部に延び、
前記シーラントは、少なくとも部分的に前記第1外装材及び前記第2外装材の前記周縁部の間に位置する、請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載の蓄電素子。 - 前記第1外装材の前記周縁部は、少なくとも一部において前記シーラントの前記第1面に接触し、
前記第1外装材の前記周縁部の全面は、前記第1方向に垂直な面上に広がる、請求項4に記載の蓄電素子。 - 前記第1外装材のうち前記第2外装材との間に前記収容部を形成する収容部形成部は、前記第1外装材の前記周縁部が広がる面上に広がり、
前記第2外装材は、前記第1外装材との間に複数の前記電極を収容する前記収容部を形成する膨出部を有する、請求項5に記載の蓄電素子。 - 請求項1乃至6のいずれか一項に記載の蓄電素子を製造する方法であって、
前記第2方向に垂直な前記断面において前記タブの周囲を囲うように設けられた前記シーラントが、少なくとも部分的に、前記外装体をなす第1外装材及び第2外装材の周縁部に重なるようにして、前記タブが電気的に接続された複数の前記電極を前記第1外装材と前記第2外装材との間に配置する配置工程と、
前記第1外装材及び前記第2外装材の前記周縁部を加熱することで前記第1外装材及び前記第2外装材を前記周縁部で接合する接合工程と、を備える、蓄電素子の製造方法。 - 前記接合工程において、前記シーラントが重なっている前記第1外装材の前記周縁部に接触させた第1加熱部材と、前記シーラントが重なっている前記第2外装材の前記周縁部に接触させた第2加熱部材と、を互いに向けて押圧し、
前記第2加熱部材は、前記第2方向に垂直な前記断面において前記第3方向に対して傾斜した加熱傾斜面を含む、請求項7に記載の蓄電素子の製造方法。 - 前記配置工程において少なくとも部分的に前記第1外装材及び前記第2外装材の前記周縁部に重なるように配置される前記シーラントは、前記第2方向に垂直な前記断面において前記第3方向に対して傾斜した前記傾斜面を含む、請求項7又は8に記載の蓄電素子の製造方法。
