Abstract
Description
本開示で記載される一つ以上のカプセルは、任意の適切な様式で喫煙物品内に組み込まれうる。カプセルは、喫煙物品のフィルターまたはマウスピースの中に組み込まれるのが好ましい。
本発明を、添付図面を参照しながら、例証としてのみであるがさらに説明する。
カプセルの表面の疎水性処理の効果を測定した。
I.材料および方法
A.C16脂肪酸塩化物の移植
ゼラチンおよび約2mm〜約3mm(メントール)の直径を有するメントール含有コア[V.Mane Fils(フランス)]を含むシェルを有する球状のカプセル(「メントールカプセル」)、ならびにビスコパール(ビスコースから成り、約1mmの直径を有するおおよそ球状の物体)(Rengo)が、どの移植技術が疎水性シェルを有するカプセルを生成するのに十分に作用しうるかを定めるために3つの移植技術を用いて、パルミチン酸クロリド、およびC16脂肪酸塩化物(C16FAC)と融合された。移植は、FACをカプセルのシェルの表面上に存在するヒドロキシル基と反応させて、脂肪酸をシェルに共有結合させる。反応の副産物は、排出された塩酸である。
C16FAC(2重量%)を溶剤(石油エーテル98%)内に加えることによって、試薬混合溶液を調製した。カプセルを数分間、試薬混合溶液に浸し、試薬混合溶液から取り出した。残留溶剤を数分間、室温でカプセルから蒸発させた。その後、カプセルをオーブン内に置き、以下の表1に示す時間で、850mbarの圧力および150℃の温度で、窒素流出下に保った、または以下の表1に示す時間で、150℃の温度で、大気条件下に保った。
C16FAC(2重量%)を溶剤(石油エーテル98%)内に加えることによって、試薬混合溶液を調製した。カプセルを数分間、試薬混合溶液に浸し、試薬混合溶液から取り出した。残留溶剤を数分間、室温でカプセルから蒸発させた。以下の表1に示す時間で150℃の温度に設定したヒートガンをカプセルに向けることによって、C16FACをカプセル表面に融合した。
上部に置かれたグリルを有するペトリ皿にC16FACを置いた。カプセルは、グリルの上部に置かれた。グリルおよびその上部にカプセルを有するペトリ皿は、乾燥器内に置かれ、それを以下の表1に示す時間で180℃でオーブン内に置いた。蒸気相試験の間、反応装置内でより迅速に150°Cに到達するようにオーブンを180°Cに設定した。
メントールカプセルおよびビスコパールが、どの移植技術が疎水性シェルを有するカプセルを生成するのに十分に作用しうるかを定めるために3つの移植技術を用いて、C11脂肪酸塩化物(C11FAC)と融合された。移植は、脂肪酸塩化物をカプセルのシェルの表面上に存在するヒドロキシル基と反応させて、脂肪酸をシェルに共有結合させる。反応の副産物は、排出された塩酸である。
C11FAC(2重量%)を溶剤(石油エーテル98%)内に加えることによって、試薬混合溶液を調製した。カプセルを数分間、試薬混合溶液に浸し、試薬混合溶液から取り出した。残留溶剤を数分間、室温でカプセルから蒸発させた。その後、カプセルをオーブン内に置き、以下の表2に示す時間で、850mbarの圧力および80℃の温度で、窒素流出下に保った、または以下の表2に示す時間で、80℃の温度で、大気条件下に保った。
C11FAC(2重量%)を溶剤(石油エーテル98%)内に加えることによって、試薬混合溶液を調製した。カプセルを数分間、試薬混合溶液に浸し、試薬混合溶液から取り出した。残留溶剤を数分間、室温でカプセルから蒸発させた。以下の表2に示す時間で80℃の温度に設定したヒートガンをカプセルに向けることによって、C11FACをカプセル表面に融合した。
上部に置かれたグリルを有するペトリ皿にC11FACを置いた。カプセルは、グリルの上部に置かれた。グリルおよびその上部にカプセルを有するペトリ皿は、吸い取り紙のリング上に置かれ、それを以下の表2に示す温度および時間でオーブン内に置いた。
融合したカプセルを水中に置き、それらの挙動を観察した。例えば、カプセルの全体的な外観に注目し、浮流するカプセルの割合に注目し、またメントールカプセルの変色までの時間に注目した。
38℃および90%の相対湿度に制御された環境(「熱帯環境」)に融合したカプセルを置き、所定の時間でそれらの質量を測定して、水分吸収により得られるそれらの重量を定めた。
メントールカプセル上でのみ表面張力測定を実施した。ビスコパールのサイズが小さいことにより、ビスコパールについての表面張力測定は得れなかった。メントールカプセルを粘着テープを用いて小さなロッドに置き、60秒の継続時間で、慣習的なジオメトリー(3mmの直径および3mmの高さのシリンダー)および1.5mmの挿入深さで、Kruss装置を用いて試験を実施した。カプセルにより得られる水の絶対質量を測定した。実験は移植の効果を推定するように設計され、質量が低い場合、移植はより効果的であった。
メントールカプセルから漏出した着色剤の量をUV−VIS分光測光法を用いて測定した。各サンプルに関して、蒸留水中の適切な分光光度測定セルに3つのカプセルを置き、1分後に286nmで吸光度を測定した。
以下のC16FAC試験からいくつかの観察が得られた。以下の表3(メントールカプセルに関する)および表4(ビスコパールに関する)にいくつかの初期段階での観察を示す。
結論において、脂肪酸部分をカプセルの表面へ共有結合することは、いくつかの技術によって達成されうる。例えば、純粋な試薬を用いた熱気流下で、かつ蒸気相における共有結合は、十分に作用すると思われる。これらの技術は、例えば、流体化されたベッドを使用することによるカプセルの表面への疎水性部分の工業規模の共有結合に関して、最適化され、改善され、かつスケールアップされうる。
メントールを含み、ゼラチンを含むシェルを有するカプセル(V. Mane Fils)(「メントールカプセル」)は、4つの異なるプロセスを用いて、メントールカプセルの表面にC16脂肪酸部分を融合するために、C16脂肪酸塩化物で処理された。プロセスは、一般的に、実施例2で上述した通りに実施され、それは、(i)8分間150°Cでのヒートガン処理、(ii)8分間150°Cでのオーブン処理、(iii)4分間150°Cでのオーブン処理、および(iv)4分間180°Cでの蒸気相処理を含む。
上記の実施例2に記載したように、2%のC16脂肪酸塩化物とメントールカプセルを融合した。メントールカプセルの平均重量は、21.1mg(n=50)であった。メントールカプセルは、4分または8分の間、ヒートガンを用いて150℃で、オーブンにおける850mbarの圧力下で8分間150℃で、または蒸気相において150℃で処理された。
風味剤を含むカプセルおよび壊れやすいシェルが、脂肪酸部分を含む酸クロリドを用いた様々な方法および条件により処理されうることを結果は示す。処理されたカプセルは、水分に対して耐性があり、さらにそれらが破壊のために圧縮された時に多くのそれらの性能特性を保持する。

液体感覚促進材料と、
前記液体感覚促進材料を囲むシェルであって、前記シェルの外側表面と共有結合する疎水性基によって疎水性にされる前記外側表面を有する、シェルと、を含む、カプセル。 - 前記疎水性基が、脂肪酸部分または脂肪酸エステルを含む、請求項1に記載のカプセル。
- 前記脂肪酸または脂肪酸エステルが、16〜24個の炭素原子(C16〜C24)を有する脂肪族鎖を含む、請求項2に記載のカプセル。
