Abstract
Description
[0001]本開示は、概して、製造用ヘッド及びシステムに関し、特に、複合中空構造物を連続的に製造するためのヘッド及びシステムに関する。
[0002]押出製造は、連続中空構造物を製造するための既知のプロセスである。押出製造中、液体マトリックス(例えば、熱硬化性樹脂又は加熱された熱可塑性プラスチック)が所望の断面形状及び寸法を有する金型に押し込まれる。材料は金型を出るときに最終形態に硬化する(cures and hardens)。一部の用途では、液体マトリックスが金型から出るときにその硬化を加速させるために紫外線及び/又は超音波振動が用いられる。押出製造プロセスによって製造される中空構造物は、任意の連続長、直線又は曲線の外形、一定の断面形状、及び優れた表面仕上げを有し得る。押出製造は中空構造物を連続的に製造するのに有効な手法であり得るものの、得られる構造物は、一部の用途に必要とされる強度が不足している場合がある。
[0005]一態様では、本開示は、製造システム用のヘッドに関する。ヘッドは、液体マトリックスと少なくとも1つの連続繊維とを受け入れ、複合管状構造物を吐出するように構成されたハウジングを含んでもよい。ヘッドは、また、ヘッドに動作的に結合されており、複合管状構造物がハウジングから吐出されているときに複合管状構造物の表面上に材料層を堆積させるように構成されているノズルを含んでもよい。ヘッドは、ノズルと関連付けられており、材料層を塗り広げるように構成されているスキージを更に有してもよい。
[0015]図1及び図2は、任意の所望の断面形状(例えば、円形又は多角形)を有する中空複合構造物(例えば、管、ホース、チャネル、導管、ダクト等)14を連続的に製造するために使用してもよい異なる例示的システム10及び12を示す。各システム10、12は、支持部16と、駆動部18と、ヘッド20と、を含んでもよい。ヘッド20は駆動部18を介して支持部16に結合されてもよい。開示される図1の実施形態では、支持部16は、得られる構造物14の長手方向軸22が3次元であるように、構造物14の製造中に駆動部18とヘッド20とを複数の方向に移動させることができるロボットアームである。図2の実施形態では、支持部16は、また、構造物14の製造中、ヘッド20と駆動部18とを複数の方向に移動させることができるオーバーヘッドガントリーである。両実施形態の支持部16は6軸運動可能なものとして示されているが、所望であれば、駆動部18とヘッド20とを同じ又は異なる手法で移動させることができる任意の他の種類の支持部16も利用可能であると考えられる。
[0049]開示されるシステムは、任意の所望の断面形状及び長さを有する複合構造物を連続的に製造するために使用されてもよい。複合構造物は、同じ又は異なる種類及び同じ又は異なる直径の任意の数の異なる繊維を含んでもよい。加えて、複合構造物の作製に使用されるウィーブパターンは、構造物の製造中、動的に変化させてもよい。システム10の動作についてここで詳細に記載する。
Claims (34)
- 製造システム用のヘッドであって、
液体マトリックスと少なくとも1つの連続繊維とを受け入れ、複合管状構造物を吐出するように構成されたハウジングと、
前記ヘッドに動作的に結合されており、前記複合管状表面が前記ハウジングから吐出されているときに前記複合管状構造物の表面上に材料層を堆積させるように構成されているノズルと、
前記ノズルと関連付けられており、前記材料層を塗り広げるように構成されているスキージと、
を含む、ヘッド。 - 前記ハウジングに動作的に接続されているとともに、前記材料層の吐出中及び堆積前に、前記複合管状構造物中の前記液体マトリックスを硬化させるように構成されている硬化促進部を更に含む、請求項1に記載のヘッド。
- 前記硬化促進部は、前記複合管状構造物中の前記液体マトリックスを前記複合管状構造物の内部から硬化させるように構成されている、請求項2に記載のヘッド。
- 前記硬化促進部は第1の硬化促進部であり、
前記ヘッドは、前記ノズルによって堆積された前記材料層を硬化させるように構成されている第2の硬化促進部を更に含む、
請求項2に記載のヘッド。 - 前記ノズルは第1のノズルであり、
前記材料層は第1の材料層であり、
前記表面は第1の表面であり、
前記スキージは第1のスキージであり、
前記ヘッドは、
前記ヘッドに動作的に接続されているとともに、前記複合管状構造物の第2の表面上に第2の材料層を堆積させるように構成されている第2のノズルと、
前記第2のノズルと関連付けられており、前記第2の材料層を塗り広げるように構成されている第2のスキージと、
前記第2の材料層を硬化させるように構成されている第3の硬化促進部と、
を更に含む、請求項4に記載のヘッド。 - 前記ノズルは、前記材料層を吐出するように構成された少なくとも1つの半径方向に方向付けられたオリフィスを含み、
前記スキージは、前記複合管状構造物の吐出方向を基準として、前記少なくとも1つのオリフィスの下流側に位置する下流ブレードを含む、
請求項1に記載のヘッド。 - 前記下流ブレードは、前記複合管状構造物の前記表面から距離を開けて配置されている、請求項6に記載のヘッド。
- 前記下流ブレードを前記複合管状構造物の前記表面に対して移動させるように構成された調整機構を更に含む、請求項7に記載のヘッド。
- 前記スキージは、前記複合管状構造物の前記表面と直接接触している上流ブレードを更に含む、請求項6に記載のヘッド。
- 前記表面は内部表面である、請求項1に記載のヘッド。
- 前記ノズルは、半径方向外側に方向付けられた複数のオリフィスを含む第1のノズルであり、
前記ヘッドは、半径方向内側に方向付けられているとともに前記複合管状構造物の外部表面上に材料層を堆積させるように構成された、複数のオリフィスを有する第2のノズルを更に含む、請求項10に記載のヘッド。 - 前記第1のノズルに液体マトリックスを供給するために、前記ヘッドの中央から前記複合管状構造物を通って前記第1のノズルまで延びるワンドと、
前記第2のノズルに液体マトリックスを供給するために前記複合管状構造物の外側の位置にある前記ヘッドから前記第2のノズルまで延びる少なくとも1つの軸方向通路と、
を更に含む、請求項11に記載のヘッド。 - 前記複合管状構造物の前記表面は外側である、請求項1に記載のヘッド。
- 前記ノズルの上流側端部に取り付けられており、前記ノズルの下流側端部において外側に広がっているフードと、
前記フード内に配置されており、前記複合管状構造物に向かって半径方向内側に方向付けられている少なくとも1つの硬化促進部と、
を更に含む、請求項13に記載のヘッド。 - 前記ハウジングから前記ノズルまで延びる外部シールドを更に含む、請求項14に記載のヘッド。
- 複合構造物を連続的に製造するためのシステムであって、
前記複合構造物の製造中、複数の方向に移動するように構成された支持部と、
前記支持部に結合されたヘッドであって、
液体マトリックスと少なくとも1つの連続繊維とを受け入れるように構成されており、管状構造物を吐出するように構成されているハウジングと、
前記ハウジングに動作的に接続されているとともに、前記管状構造物が前記ハウジングから吐出されているときに前記管状構造物の表面上に材料層を堆積させるように構成されているノズルと、
前記ノズルと関連付けられており、前記材料層を塗り広げるように構成されているスキージと、
前記ハウジングに動作的に接続されているとともに、吐出中、前記管状構造物中の前記液体マトリックスを硬化させるように構成されている第1の硬化促進部と、
前記ノズルによって堆積された前記材料層を硬化させるように構成されている第2の硬化促進部と、
を含む、ヘッドと、
を含む、システム。 - 前記第1の硬化促進部は、前記管状構造物中の前記液体マトリックスを前記管状構造物の内部から硬化させるように構成されている、請求項16に記載のシステム。
- 前記ノズルは第1のノズルであり、

前記表面は前記管状構造物の内部表面であり、
前記スキージは第1のスキージであり、

前記管状構造物の前記表面上に前記第2の材料層を硬化させるように構成されている第3の硬化促進部と、
を更に含む、請求項16に記載のシステム。 - 前記第1のノズルは、半径方向外側に方向付けられた複数のオリフィスを含み、
前記第2のノズルは、半径方向内側に方向付けられた複数のオリフィスを含む、
請求項18に記載のシステム。 - 前記第1のノズルに液体マトリックスを供給するために前記ヘッドの中央から前記管状構造物を通って前記第1のノズルまで延びるワンドと、
前記第2のノズルに液体マトリックスを供給するために前記管状構造物の外側の位置にある前記ヘッドから前記第2のノズルまで延びる少なくとも1つの軸方向通路と、
を更に含む、請求項19に記載のシステム。 - 前記第2のノズルの上流側端部に取り付けられており、前記第2のノズルの下流側端部において外側に広がっているフードを更に含み、前記第3の硬化促進部は前記フード内に配置されており、前記管状構造物に向かって半径方向内側に方向付けられている、請求項18に記載のシステム。
- 前記ノズルは、前記材料層を吐出するように構成された少なくとも1つの半径方向に方向付けられたオリフィスを含み、
前記スキージは、前記管状構造物の吐出方向を基準として、前記少なくとも1つのオリフィスの下流側に位置する下流ブレードを含む、
請求項16に記載のシステム。 - 前記下流ブレードは、前記管状構造物の前記表面から距離を開けて配置されている、請求項22に記載のシステム。
- 前記下流ブレードを前記管状構造物の前記表面に対して移動させるように構成された調整機構を更に含む、請求項23に記載のシステム。
- 前記スキージは、前記表面と直接接触している上流ブレードを更に含む、請求項22に記載のシステム。
- 複合構造物の製造方法であって、
繊維にマトリックスを連続的に被覆することと、
前記マトリックス被覆繊維を非繊維軸から離れる方に半径方向外側に逸らし、管状構造物を形成することと、
前記管状構造物内に3次元軌道を作成することと、
前記管状構造物内の前記マトリックスを硬化させることと、
前記管状構造物が形成されている間に前記管状構造物の表面上に材料層を堆積させることと、
ブレードで前記材料層の少なくとも一部分を塗り広げることと、
を含む、方法。 - 前記管状構造物内の前記マトリックスを硬化させることは、前記マトリックスを前記管状構造物の内部から硬化させることを含む、請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記管状構造物の前記表面上に堆積させた前記材料層を硬化させることを更に含む、請求項27に記載の方法。
- 前記管状構造物の前記表面上に前記材料層を堆積させることは、前記管状構造物の内部表面上に第1のマトリックス材料層を堆積させることを含む、請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記管状構造物が形成されている間に前記管状構造物の外部表面上に第2のマトリックス材料層を堆積させることと、
ブレードで前記第2のマトリックス材料層の少なくとも一部分を塗り広げることと、
前記第2のマトリックス材料層を硬化させることと、
を更に含む、請求項29に記載の方法。 - 前記材料層の厚さを変更するために前記表面から離れるように前記ブレードの距離を調整することを更に含む、請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記管状構造物内の前記マトリックスを硬化させることは、前記材料層を前記管状構造物の前記表面上に堆積させる位置の上流の位置において前記マトリックスを硬化させることを含む、請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記管状構造物を環境から外部遮蔽することを更に含む、請求項26に記載の方法。
- 前記管状構造物を前記環境から内部遮蔽することを更に含む、請求項33に記載の方法。
