Abstract
Description
触媒を収納する触媒収納ケースと、
触媒端面よりも狭く形成され、排気ガスを前記触媒へ導く上流流路部と、前記上流流路部の下流側に設けられ、前記上流流路部が拡張されて前記触媒収納ケースの上流開口端部に接続される拡張流路部とを有する上流コーン部と、
を備え、
バイパス流路と、前記バイパス流路の流路出口の延長上に設けられた排気出口とを有する排気タービン過給機が前記上流コーン部の取付け対象とされ、
前記上流コーン部は、前記流路出口の延長上に前記触媒端面が配置されて、前記流路出口から流出した排気ガスの前記触媒端面への入射角が鋭角をなすように形成された触媒コンバータであって、
前記拡張流路部と前記触媒端面との間において、少なくとも、排気ガスの入射方向を傾斜させた側とは反対側となる入射反対部位に設けられ、前記触媒端面に当たって跳ね返った排気ガスのガス流を受け止める排気ガス受部を備えており、
前記排気ガス受部は、前記触媒収納ケースの前記上流開口端部から前記拡張流路部の流路内側へ、前記拡張流路部から離間するとともに前記触媒端面との間に空間部が形成されるように延びていることを特徴とする。
前記排気ガス受部の内縁部は、前記触媒端面の側に向けられていることを特徴とする。
前記排気ガス受部は、前記触媒収納ケースの前記上流開口端部の周方向に沿って設けられ、
前記排気ガス受部の内縁部は、前記入射反対部位から周方向に沿って前記傾斜側へ向かうにつれて前記触媒端面からの高さが低くなるように設定されていることを特徴とする。
前記触媒端面の垂直方向から見た平面視における前記排気ガス受部の幅は、前記触媒収納ケースの前記上流開口端部の周方向に沿って徐々に小さくなるように形成されていることを特徴とする。
前記排気ガス受部は、前記触媒収納ケースの周方向全域にわたって設けられていることを特徴とする。
前記排気ガス受部の内縁部によって形成される開口部は、前記バイパス流路の前記流路出口から流出して前記触媒端面に当たる排気ガスの主流を流入させる大きさを有していることを特徴とする。
前記排気ガス受部には、当該排気ガス受部の内外を連通するスリットが設けられ、
前記スリットは、
前記排気ガス受部の外側に設けられた外側スリット部と、
前記排気ガス受部の内側に、前記外側スリット部と位置をずらして設けられた内側スリット部と、
前記外側スリット部と前記内側スリット部とを連通し、前記外側スリット部から流入した排気ガスが前記内側スリット部に向けて流通するスリット流通部と、
を備えていることを特徴とする。
Claims (7)
- 触媒を収納する触媒収納ケースと、
触媒端面よりも狭く形成され、排気ガスを前記触媒へ導く上流流路部と、前記上流流路部の下流側に設けられ、前記上流流路部が拡張されて前記触媒収納ケースの上流開口端部に接続される拡張流路部とを有する上流コーン部と、
を備え、
バイパス流路と、前記バイパス流路の流路出口の延長上に設けられた排気出口とを有する排気タービン過給機が前記上流コーン部の取付け対象とされ、
前記上流コーン部は、前記流路出口の延長上に前記触媒端面が配置されて、前記流路出口から流出した排気ガスの前記触媒端面への入射角が鋭角をなすように形成された触媒コンバータであって、
前記拡張流路部と前記触媒端面との間において、少なくとも、排気ガスの入射方向を傾斜させた側とは反対側となる入射反対部位に設けられ、前記触媒端面に当たって跳ね返った排気ガスのガス流を受け止める排気ガス受部を備えており、
前記排気ガス受部は、前記触媒収納ケースの前記上流開口端部から前記拡張流路部の流路内側へ、前記拡張流路部から離間するとともに前記触媒端面との間に空間部が形成されるように延びていることを特徴とする触媒コンバータ。 - 前記排気ガス受部の内縁部は、前記触媒端面の側に向けられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の触媒コンバータ。
- 前記排気ガス受部は、前記触媒収納ケースの前記上流開口端部の周方向に沿って設けられ、
前記排気ガス受部の内縁部は、前記入射反対部位から周方向に沿って前記傾斜側へ向かうにつれて前記触媒端面からの高さが低くなるように設定されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の触媒コンバータ。 - 前記触媒端面の垂直方向から見た平面視における前記排気ガス受部の幅は、前記触媒収納ケースの前記上流開口端部の周方向に沿って徐々に小さくなるように形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれか1項に記載の触媒コンバータ。
- 前記排気ガス受部は、前記触媒収納ケースの周方向全域にわたって設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4のいずれか1項に記載の触媒コンバータ。
- 前記排気ガス受部の内縁部によって形成される開口部は、前記バイパス流路の前記流路出口から流出して前記触媒端面に当たる排気ガスの主流を流入させる大きさを有していることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の触媒コンバータ。
- 前記排気ガス受部には、当該排気ガス受部の内外を連通するスリットが設けられ、
前記スリットは、
前記排気ガス受部の外側に設けられた外側スリット部と、
前記排気ガス受部の内側に、前記外側スリット部と位置をずらして設けられた内側スリット部と、
前記外側スリット部と前記内側スリット部とを連通し、前記外側スリット部から流入した排気ガスが前記内側スリット部に向けて流通するスリット流通部と、
を備えていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれか1項に記載の触媒コンバータ。
