表3に示す供試アリ忌避組成物にn−パラフィン(ネオチオゾール)を加えエアゾール原液を調製した(アリ忌避組成物含量:エアゾール原液に対し2.0w/v%)。このエアゾール原液50mLをエアゾール容器に充填後、液化石油ガス(LPG)50mLを加圧充填してエアゾール形態の本発明のアリ忌避製品を得た。このアリ忌避製品につき、下記の忌避効力試験を実施した。
[忌避効力試験−2]
20cm角のタイルに供試アリ忌避製品を1m2あたり20mLになるように滴下した。このタイルの中央に誘引剤として3%ショ糖水溶液を含浸させた脱脂綿を置き、在来アリ又は特定外来生物であるアリが生息する草むらに設置した。設置直後、及び設置3日後に、誘引剤に集まったアリを数え、アリ忌避効果を調べた。結果を表4に示す。

An aerosol stock solution was prepared by adding n-paraffin (neothiozole) to the test ant repellent composition shown in Table 3 (content of ant repellent composition: 2.0 w / v% with respect to the aerosol stock solution). The test ant repellent product was dropped on a 20 cm square tile so as to be 20 mL per 1 m 2 . Absorbent cotton impregnated with a 3% sucrose aqueous solution as an attractant was placed in the center of the tile, and placed on the grass that inhabited ants that are native or specific alien organisms. Immediately after the installation and 3 days after the installation, ants gathered in the attractant were counted, and the ant repellent effect was examined. The results are shown in Table 4.

試験の結果、本発明のアリ忌避組成物を用いて調製したエアゾール形態のアリ忌避製品は、実施例1と同様、在来アリ及び特定外来生物であるアリのいずれに対しても優れたアリ忌避効果を示した。なお、IR3535の配合は忌避効果増強の点で有用であり、また、ジプロピレングリコールの配合は忌避効果の持続性向上に寄与することが認められた。
別途、本発明21につき、勝手口や玄関のスペースに1m2あたり約20mL噴霧処理したところ、7日間にわたりアリ類の家屋内への侵入は見られなかった。また、処理した所から少し離れた場所に死亡したクロヤマアリやアミメアリが何個体か観察され、アリ忌避成分の忌避効果に加え、殺虫成分であるエムペントリンの作用が覗えた。

このアリ忌避組成物の30mgを、担持体としてのリング状シリコーンゴム(1.6g)に含有させ、リストバンド形態の本発明のアリ忌避製品を得た。
このリストバンドを2本ずつ両足首に巻装して外出したところ、8〜12時間にわたり、アリ類だけでなく、ワラジムシ、ダンゴムシ等の各種匍匐害虫や、蚊、ブユ、ハチ類、ユスリカ等の各種飛翔害虫、更にはヤマヒル等に煩わされることがなく、実用的な忌避効果が確認された。
