殺虫成分の含有量は、アリ防除剤あたり0.02〜5.0w/v%(固形剤の場合は0.02〜5.0w/w%)程度が適当である。0.02w/v%未満であると所望の効果が得られないし、一方、5.0w/v%を超えると内容液の液性安定化の点で困難を伴う。

勝手口や玄関のスペースに前記アリ防除剤を1m2あたり約20mL噴霧処理したところ、3週間にわたりアリ類の家屋内への侵入は見られなかった。また、処理した所から少し離れた場所に死亡したクロヤマアリやアミメアリが何個体か観察され、アリ忌避香料の忌避効果に加え、殺虫成分が防除効果を確実に補強していることを示した。
