Description
Claims (23)
- デプスフィルタ要素(12)であって、
層に堆積される1つ以上の静止フィラメント(28)と、
前記層を横断する横断フィラメント(30)と、
を備え、
前記横断フィラメントが、螺旋に対して横断し、前記螺旋が可変直径を有する、デプスフィルタ要素(12)。 - 前記横断フィラメントの質量が、前記要素の外側に向かって偏っている、請求項1に記載の要素。
- 前記横断フィラメントが、揺動の経路に従い、前記横断フィラメントが、1つの揺動において前記要素の奥行の一部を横断するが、複数の揺動にわたって前記要素の本質的に全奥行を通して横断する、請求項1または2に記載の要素。
- 前記螺旋の一部において、前記螺旋の直径が、概して一定の割合で変化する、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の要素。
- 前記螺旋の一部において、前記螺旋の直径が、一定である、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の要素。
- 層に堆積される各静止フィラメント(28)が、螺旋体の形態で堆積される、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の要素。
- 層に堆積される複数の静止フィラメント(28)を有し、これらフィラメントのそれぞれが、同心円の帯域(22)の組の1つを形成する、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の要素。
- 外側の帯域のフィラメントが、その他の帯域の少なくとも50%を通って、別の帯域のフィラメントと重複する、交差する、または混ざり合う、請求項7に記載の要素。
- 4つ以上の同心円の帯域、または5つ以上の同心円の帯域を有する、請求項7または8に記載の要素。
- 2.0インチ以上、任意選択で、4.5インチ以上の外径を有する、請求項1〜9のいずれか一項に記載の要素。
- デプスフィルタ要素を作製する方法であって、
1つ以上のメルトブロー固定フィラメント(28)を、回転しているマンドレル(176)に向けて、1つ以上の固定ノズル(127、128、129、216、217)から吹き付けるステップと、
少なくとも1つの横断フィラメント(30)を、前記マンドレルに向けて、前記マンドレルに対して、左右に移動するか、もしくは複合運動で移動するか、またはそれらの両方であるノズルアセンブリ(117)から吹き付けるステップと、
を含む、方法。 - 前記マンドレルの長さに沿って間隔をあけられた、3つ以上の固定ノズルがある、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記固定ノズルのうちの1つ以上からの吹き付けパターン(166、168、170、220、221)が、隣接する固定ノズルの吹き付けパターンの少なくとも50%と重複する、請求項12に記載の方法。
- 少なくとも1つの固定ノズルが、別の固定ノズルに対してある角度で整列される、請求項11〜13のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ノズルアセンブリが、前記マンドレルの前記長さに対して並進する、請求項11〜14のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ノズルアセンブリが、前記マンドレルに対して複合運動で移動する、請求項11〜15のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記複合運動が、高周波の運動と、低周波の運動とを含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記ノズルアセンブリの前記運動が、前記マンドレルの開放端に向かって偏っている、請求項11〜17のいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記ノズルアセンブリが、前記マンドレルの開放端近くで停留する、請求項18に記載の方法。
- デプスフィルタ要素を作製するための機械であって、
回転可能なマンドレル(176)と、
メルトスパンフィラメントを前記マンドレルに向けて吹き付けるように構成されている、1つ以上の固定ノズル(127、128、129、216、217)と、
プレスローラ(180)と、
前記マンドレルに対して移動する、ノズルアセンブリ(117)と、
を備える機械。 - 前記ノズルアセンブリが、前記マンドレルに対して並進する、請求項20に記載の機械。
- 前記ノズルアセンブリが、移動する減衰器(154)を備える、請求項20または21に記載の機械。
- 前記ノズルアセンブリが、前記減衰器が前記ノズルアセンブリの残部に対して移動するよりも少ない頻度で、前記マンドレルに対して移動する、請求項22に記載の機械。
