Claims (20)

前記上部ディスプレイ層と下部ディスプレイ層の間の液晶材料の層と、を含む、複数の異なる色のサブピクセルを含むピクセルの行及び列を有する液晶ディスプレイであって、前記上部ディスプレイ層及び下部ディスプレイ層のうちの少なくとも1つは、
基板と、
サブピクセル用のピクセル電極と、を含み、前記ピクセル電極は、前記基板上に形成され、前記ピクセル電極は、長軸を有し、前記液晶材料中の液晶分子は、前記ピクセル電極による電界の印加によって最初は回転しておらず、前記ピクセル電極の前記長軸に対して双極子対電極軸角度をなす付帯する双極子を有し、異なる色のサブピクセルの前記双極子対電極軸角度は異なっている、液晶ディスプレイ。 - 前記サブピクセルは、赤色サブピクセル及び他の色のサブピクセルを含み、前記赤色サブピクセルの前記双極子対電極軸角度は、前記他の色の前記サブピクセルの前記双極子対電極軸角度と異なっている、請求項1に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記他の色のサブピクセルは緑色及び青色サブピクセルを含み、前記赤色サブピクセルの前記双極子対電極軸角度は前記緑色及び青色サブピクセルの前記双極子対電極軸角度と異なっている、請求項2に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記赤色サブピクセルの前記双極子対電極軸角度は、前記緑色及び青色サブピクセルの前記双極子対電極軸角度よりも小さい、請求項3に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記ピクセル電極はシェブロン形状を有し、前記赤色サブピクセルの前記ピクセル電極は、前記緑色及び青色サブピクセルの前記ピクセル電極の前記シェブロン形状より曲がりが小さいシェブロン形状を有する、請求項4に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記サブピクセルは、赤色サブピクセル、青色サブピクセル、及び緑色サブピクセルを含み、前記青色及び緑色サブピクセルは、前記赤色サブピクセルとは異なる形状のピクセル電極を有し、前記青色及び緑色サブピクセルは、前記赤色サブピクセルとは異なる形状を有する正規化透過率対印加電圧曲線を示す、請求項1に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 上部ディスプレイ層及び下部ディスプレイ層と、
前記上部ディスプレイ層と下部ディスプレイ層の間の液晶材料の層と、を含む、赤色、緑色及び青色サブピクセルを含むピクセルの行及び列を有する液晶ディスプレイであって、前記上部ディスプレイ層及び下部ディスプレイ層のうちの少なくとも1つは、
基板と、
前記基板上のオーバーコート層と、を含み、前記オーバーコート層は、黒色オブジェクトが色付き背景を横切って移動するときのモーションブラー効果を最小限に抑えるために、前記赤色サブピクセルと重なる領域に第1の厚さを有し、前記緑色サブピクセルと重なる領域において前記第1の厚さより大きい第2の厚さを有する、液晶ディスプレイ。 - 前記基板は、前記上部ディスプレイ層の一部を形成し、前記色付き背景は、赤色サブピクセル値、緑色サブピクセル値、及び青色サブピクセル値を有し、前記赤色サブピクセル値は前記緑色及び青色サブピクセル値より大きく、前記液晶ディスプレイは前記基板上にカラーフィルタ素子のアレイを更に含む、請求項7に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記オーバーコート層は、前記カラーフィルタ素子のアレイ上に形成される、請求項8に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記オーバーコート層は、前記緑色サブピクセル及び前記青色サブピクセルの両方に重なる領域に前記第2の厚さを有する、請求項7に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記カラーフィルタ素子のアレイは、前記赤色サブピクセル内に赤色カラーフィルタ素子、前記緑色サブピクセル内に緑色カラーフィルタ素子、及び前記青色サブピクセル内に青色カラーフィルタ素子を含み、前記オーバーコート層は前記赤色カラーフィルタ素子と重なる領域に前記第1の厚さを有し、前記青色及び緑色カラーフィルタ素子と重なる領域に前記第2の厚さを有する、請求項10に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記下部ディスプレイ層に薄膜トランジスタの層を更に含む、請求項11に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記上部ディスプレイ層に薄膜トランジスタの層を更に含む、請求項11に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記青色サブピクセル及び前記緑色サブピクセルは、前記赤色サブピクセルと異なる形状を有する、請求項7に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記サブピクセルはシェブロン形状を有し、前記赤色サブピクセルは、前記緑色及び青色サブピクセルの前記シェブロン形状より曲がりが小さいシェブロン形状を有する、請求項7に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 上部層及び下部層を含むディスプレイ層と、
上部層と下部層の間の液晶材料の層と、を含む第1、第2及び第3の色のサブピクセルを含むピクセルの行及び列を有する液晶ディスプレイであって、前記上部及び下部層のうちの少なくとも1つは、基板及び前記サブピクセルのための開口部を有する前記基板上の黒色マスキング層と、
前記ディスプレイ層に形成され、前記開口部の縁部に整列したピクセル電極と、を含み、前記第2及び第3の色の前記サブピクセルの前記ピクセル電極は、前記第1の色の前記サブピクセルの前記ピクセル電極と異なる形状を有する、液晶ディスプレイ。 - 前記第1の色の前記サブピクセルの前記ピクセル電極は第1のシェブロン形状を有し、前記第2及び第3の色の前記サブピクセルの前記ピクセル電極は前記第1のシェブロン形状とは異なる第2のシェブロン形状を有する、請求項16に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記第1の色は赤色を含む、請求項17に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記第2及び第3の色はそれぞれ緑色及び青色を含む、請求項18に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記第1のシェブロン形状開口部を有する前記ピクセル電極は、前記第2のシェブロン形状を有する前記ピクセル電極より曲がりが小さい、請求項19に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
