Description

Claims (7)
- 赤色サブピクセル、緑色サブピクセル、及び青色サブピクセルを含むサブピクセルの行及び列を有する液晶ディスプレイであって、
上部ディスプレイ層及び下部ディスプレイ層と、
前記上部ディスプレイ層と下部ディスプレイ層の間の液晶材料の層と、を備え、
前記上部ディスプレイ層及び下部ディスプレイ層のうちの1つは、
基板と、
前記サブピクセル用のピクセル電極と、を含み、前記ピクセル電極は、前記基板上に形成され、前記ピクセル電極は、長軸を有し、前記液晶材料中の液晶分子は、前記ピクセル電極による電界の印加に先立っては最初は回転しておらず前記ピクセル電極の前記長軸に対して双極子対電極軸角度をなす付帯する双極子を有し、各行の前記緑色及び青色サブピクセルは第1の双極子対電極軸角度を有し、各行の前記赤色サブピクセルは前記第1の双極子対電極軸角度よりも小さい第2の双極子対電極軸角度を有している、液晶ディスプレイ。 - 前記ピクセル電極はシェブロン形状を有し、前記赤色サブピクセルの前記ピクセル電極は、前記緑色及び青色サブピクセルの前記ピクセル電極の前記シェブロン形状よりも列方向からの曲がりが小さいシェブロン形状を有する、請求項1に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記青色及び緑色サブピクセルは、前記赤色サブピクセルとは異なる形状のピクセル電極を有し、前記青色及び緑色サブピクセルは、前記赤色サブピクセルとは異なる形状を有する正規化透過率対印加電圧曲線を示す、請求項1に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 前記上部ディスプレイ層及び下部ディスプレイ層のうちの他の1つの基板上に、前記サブピクセルのための開口部を有する黒色マスキング層をさらに備え、前記ピクセル電極は前記開口部と整列している、請求項1に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 複数の異なる色のサブピクセルを含むピクセルの行及び列を有する液晶ディスプレイであって、
上部ディスプレイ層及び下部ディスプレイ層と、
前記上部ディスプレイ層と下部ディスプレイ層の間の液晶材料の層と、を備え、
前記上部ディスプレイ層及び下部ディスプレイ層のうちの1つは、
基板と、
前記サブピクセル用のピクセル電極と、を含み、前記ピクセル電極は、前記基板上に形成され、前記ピクセル電極は、長軸を有し、前記液晶材料中の液晶分子は、前記ピクセル電極による電界の印加に先立っては最初は回転しておらず前記ピクセル電極の前記長軸に対して双極子対電極軸角度をなす付帯する双極子を有し、前記複数の異なる色の前記サブピクセルは、赤色サブピクセル、青色サブピクセル、及び緑色サブピクセルを含み、前記赤色サブピクセルの前記双極子対電極軸角度は前記緑色及び青色サブピクセルの前記双極子対電極軸角度とは異なり、前記緑色及び青色サブピクセルの前記双極子対電極軸角度は同じであり、前記ピクセル電極はシェブロン形状を有し、前記青色サブピクセルの前記ピクセル電極の前記シェブロン形状は、前記赤色サブピクセルの前記ピクセル電極の前記シェブロン形状よりも、列方向からの曲がりが大きい、液晶ディスプレイ。 - 前記赤色サブピクセルの前記双極子対電極軸角度は、前記緑色及び青色サブピクセルの前記双極子対電極軸角度よりも小さい、請求項5に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
- 所与のスイッチング電圧に対して、前記赤色サブピクセルのスイッチング速度は前記緑色及び青色サブピクセルのスイッチング速度よりも遅い、請求項1に記載の液晶ディスプレイ。
