Abstract
Description
監視カメラが屋外に常時設置される場合、ガラスは大気中の水分の影響により表面が劣化するおそれがある。このガラス表面の劣化は、半製品保管中あるいは製品使用中にガラス表面に白濁状の変化となって現れるウエザリングと呼ばれる白曇り現象である。ガラスにウエザリングが発生した場合、ガラス管の内部に撮像装置を用いてガラス管を介して撮像を行うと、ガラス表面の白曇りにより画像が悪影響を受けるおそれがある。
イオン交換層は、ガラス管の外周の表面に設けられるものであって、ガラス管を例えば屋外や湿度の高い環境で用いる場合であっても、ガラス管にウエザリングが発生することを抑制できる。
DOLが3μm未満だと接触傷がDOLよりも深く入った場合に、ガラス管の機械的強度が低下するおそれがある。また、DOLが50μm超であると、強化処理後にガラス管を切断加工しにくい。DOLは、5μm〜40μmが好ましく、7μm〜30μmがより好ましい。
ガラス管本体を管形状に成形する方法としては、ダンナー法、ベロー法、ブロー法等の公知の方法を用いることができる。また、ガラス旋盤を用いて、ガラス管を拡張することで、所望の管径のガラス管を得てもよい。また、フロート法やオーバーフローダウンドロー法により成形された板ガラスを、円弧状に曲げ、それらを1つもしくは複数個つなぎ合わせることでガラス管に成形してもよい。
Fe2O3が0.01%未満であると、ガラス管の紫外線透過率が高くなるため好ましくない。また、Fe2O3が0.3%超であると、ガラス管が着色し、可視領域の波長の光の透過率が低くなるため好ましくない。Fe2O3は、好ましくは0.02〜0.15%であり、より好ましくは0.03〜0.18%である。TiO2が0.0001%未満であると、ガラス管の紫外線透過率が高くなるため好ましくない。また、TiO2が0.1%超であると、ガラス管が着色し、可視領域の波長の光の透過率が低くなるため好ましくない。TiO2は、好ましくは0.0005〜0.08%であり、より好ましくは0.001〜0.01%である。Fe2O3とTiO2とは、いずれか一方のみガラス管に含有してもよいし、両方を含有してもよい。
多層の場合、屈折率の相違する複数の薄膜を交互に積層したものが挙げられる。多層の構成としては、例えばSiO2膜とTiO2膜とを交互に十層程度積層させた、光学多層膜としてもよい。光学多層膜は、真空蒸着法やスパッタリング等の公知の方法にて形成することができる。
単層の場合、中空状のシリカを樹脂中に分散させたシリカ層が挙げられる。シリカ層は、中空状のシリカを樹脂中に分散させたコート液中にガラス管を浸漬し、次いで焼成することで得ることができる。
ガラス管の平均透過率が94%未満の場合、ガラス管を透過する光の光量が減衰し、撮像画像に影響を及ぼすおそれがある。また、ガラス管の平均透過率が99%を超える場合、ガラス管の表面に設ける反射防止膜の構成が複雑となり、製造コストが上がるおそれがある。ガラス管の肉厚1mmでの波長380nm〜780nmの範囲における平均透過率は、94.5%〜98.5%が好ましく、95%〜98%がより好ましい。
ガラス管本体を用意する。次いで、ガラス管の表面をイオン交換層を形成する。次いで、ガラス管本体を所望の長さに切断する。イオン交換層の形成工程と切断工程との順序は逆であってもかまわない。
また、ガラス管に水分遮蔽層を形成する場合、前述のイオン交換層の形成工程の後に水分遮蔽層の形成工程を追加する。また、ガラス管を切断した後、ガラス管の端面(管軸と直交する方向の端面)を研磨加工してもよい。
また、ガラス管本体の内周面に水分遮蔽層を形成する場合、ガラス管本体の外周面に水分遮蔽層を形成する工程と同時に行ってもよい。
まず、酸化物換算の質量%表示でSiO2 70%、Al2O3 2%、Na2O 16%、K2O、CaO 6%、MgO 3%となるようにガラス原料を調合した。そしてガラス原料を溶融・撹拌・清澄し、管状に成形した。このガラスを切断し、外形直径 40mm、高さ 40mm、肉厚 0.85mmのガラス管を得た。
例1と同様のガラス管を用い、ガラス管の外周面および内周面に水分遮蔽膜を形成した。具体的には、シリカの中空微粒子を樹脂に分散させたコート液を用意した。そして、このコート液にガラス管を浸漬した。次いで、ガラス管を焼成炉に入れ、ガラス管の外周面および内周面に付着したコート液を硬化し、水分遮蔽膜を得た。次いで、水分遮蔽膜が形成されたガラス管に対し、例1と同様の条件でガラス管の外周面および内周面にイオン交換処理を行った。ガラス管の外周面に形成されたイオン交換層について、表面応力計(折原製作所社製:FSM−6000)を用いて測定したところ、表面圧縮応力(CS)は560MPa、圧縮応力層深さ(DOL)は13μmであった。イオン交換層は、ガラス表面のナトリウム成分がカリウム成分に置換されており、ガラスの厚さ方向の中心部よりもナトリウム濃度が低いことがわかる。
例1と同様のガラス管を用い、イオン交換層や水分遮蔽層は形成しなかった。
例1〜例3の各ガラス管について、紫外可視近赤外分光光度計(日本分光社製、型番:V−570)により、波長380nm〜780nmの光の透過率を測定した。次いで、ガラス管を以下の条件で高温高湿試験を実施した。
温度:85℃
湿度:85%
試験時間:1000時間
次いで、高温高湿試験を実施した後のガラス管について、前述の同様の装置を用い、波長380nm〜780nmの光の透過率を測定した。各ガラスについて、高温高湿試験前の透過率の平均値、高温高湿試験後の透過率の平均値、高温高湿試験前後の透過率の変化量を表1に示す。
Claims (5)
- ガラス組成として、酸化物基準の質量%表示で、SiO2 40〜80%、Al2O3 0.1〜4%、Na2O 10〜25%、RO 1〜20%含有し、ガラスの厚さ方向の中心部よりもナトリウム濃度が低いイオン交換層を外周面に具備するガラス管。
- ガラスの厚さ方向の中心部よりもナトリウム濃度が低いイオン交換層を内周面に具備する請求項1に記載のガラス管。
- 前記ガラス管は、外周面のイオン交換層の表面に水分遮蔽層を具備する請求項1または請求項2に記載のガラス管。
- 前記ガラス管は、肉厚が1mmでの波長315nm〜400nmの範囲における平均透過率が94%〜99%である請求項1ないし請求項3のいずれか1項に記載のガラス管。
- 前記ガラス管は、内部に撮像装置を備える撮像装置用保護部材である請求項1ないし請求項4のいずれか1項に記載のガラス管。
