Claims (25)
- 上部と、前記上部と反対側の底部とを備え、華氏73度において少なくとも2.3GPaの曲げ弾性率と、摂氏70度未満のたわみ温度と、摂氏35−70度の温度範囲内で熱成形可能な熱可塑性の材料と、
前記熱可塑性の材料の前記上部及び底部の少なくとも1つと作用可能に関連づけられたヒータと、
を備えたことを特徴とする熱成形可能な医療用部材及びヒータ。 - 前記熱可塑性の材料は、摂氏23度で、少なくとも0.3GPaの引っ張り係数を有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の発明。
- 前記熱可塑性の材料は、ポリアクティック酸(PLA)ポリマー、セルロースアセテートブチレン、またはポリカプロラクトンを含有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の発明。
- 前記PLAポリマーは、摂氏23度で、2.4−4.9GPaの曲げ弾性率を有する、ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の発明。
- 前記PLAポリマーは、24:1−30:1の割合で、L−ラクチド/D−ラクチドを含有する、ことを特徴とする請求項3または4に記載の発明。
- 前記熱可塑性の材料は、さらに、有機及び無機充填材料の少なくとも1つを含有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項に記載の発明。
- 前記充填材料は、摂氏48度で、0.12W(メートル・度)より大きい熱伝導率を有する、ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の発明。
- 前記熱可塑性の材料は、前記上部及び底部の少なくとも1つの少なくとも一部が、凹凸面を有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれか1項に記載の発明。
- 前記凹凸面は、波形面である、ことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の発明。
- 前記熱可塑性の材料は、内部構造であって、体積を有し、前記上部と底部との間に配置され、前記体積の40%未満が、オープンセル構造によって占められる内部構造を有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至9のいずれか1項に記載の発明。
- 前記熱成形可能な医療用部材は、添え木である、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至10のいずれか1項に記載の発明。
- 前記熱成形可能な医療用部材は、矯正器具である、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至11のいずれか1項に記載の発明。
- 前記熱成形可能な医療用部材は、外骨格器具である、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至12のいずれか1項に記載の発明。
- 前記ヒータは、酸素活性式のヒータ及び水活性式のヒータのいずれかを備える、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至13のいずれか1項に記載の発明。
- 前記ヒータは、前記熱成形可能な医療用部材と一体化されている、ことを特徴とする請求項14に記載の発明。
- 前記熱可塑性の材料は、化学的または物理的に前記ヒータに結合されている、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至15のいずれか1項に記載の発明。
- 前記熱可塑性の材料は、摂氏35−70度の範囲のガラス転移温度を有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至16のいずれか1項に記載の発明。
- 前記熱可塑性の材料は、強化ファイバーを含有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至17のいずれか1項に記載の発明。
- 前記熱成形可能な医療用部材は、摂氏20−70度の範囲でクロスリンクを形成可能な熱硬化性の成分を含有する、ことを特徴とする請求項1乃至18のいずれか1項に記載の発明。
- 患者に使用する一体化されたヒータから熱成形可能な医療用部材の効果を得るための方法であって、
摂氏48−70度の範囲において酸素活性式のヒータ及び水活性式のヒータの少なくとも1つとともに熱可塑性の材料から熱成形可能な医療用部材を加熱するステップであって、前記熱可塑性の材料が、加熱の前は比較的硬質で非熱成形可能な状態にあるステップと、
前記熱可塑性の材料を前記の加熱範囲で非熱成形可能な状態から熱成形可能な状態に転換するステップと、
熱成形可能な状態にある間に、前記熱可塑性の材料を望ましい形状に成形するステップと、
前記熱可塑性の材料を、比較的硬質で非熱成形可能な状態に再転換するステップと、
摂氏48度未満の前記熱可塑性の材料に付与された温度で、前記熱可塑性の材料の前記望ましい形状を維持するステップと、
を備えることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記熱可塑性の材料を非熱成形可能な状態から転換するステップは、前記摂氏48−70度の範囲内で加熱されるまで前記熱可塑性の構造上の剛性を維持することを含む、ことを特徴とする請求項20に記載の方法。
- 前記加熱するステップは、前記熱可塑性の材料を熱成形可能な状態に転換した後、前記48−70度の範囲で前記熱可塑性の材料に加える熱の発生を停止するようにヒータを形成することを含む、ことを特徴とする請求項20または21に記載の方法。
- 前記加熱するステップは、前記熱可塑性の材料を略1−7分、好ましくは、3−5分熱成形可能な状態に転換した後、前記摂氏48−70度の範囲で前記熱可塑性の材料に加える熱を発生させることを含む、ことを特徴とする請求項22に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性の材料を比較的硬質で非熱成形可能な状態に再転換するステップは、前記熱可塑性の材料の温度が摂氏48度未満となった後に行われる、ことを特徴とする請求項20乃至23のいずれか1項に記載の方法。
- 前記熱可塑性の材料を比較的硬質で非熱成形可能な状態に再転換するステップは、1−7分、好ましくは3−5分の間に行われる、ことを特徴とする請求項24に記載の方法。
