Description
(1)エマルジョン重合により調製された水系ポリマーおよび複数の膨張性マイクロスフェアを含有する組成物を調製する;(2)紙、板紙、木材、箔、プラスチックまたはプラスチックフィルムである基材上に組成物を適用する;(3)実質的に水を除去するために組成物を乾燥する;および(4)組成物を膨張させる、を含む、物品を形成する方法を提供する。水系ポリマーは、(i)70℃〜110℃の範囲の温度範囲で0.5MPaより大きい弾性率;(ii)70℃〜110℃の範囲の温度範囲で0.05未満の絶対値log(E)/T勾配;および(iii)90℃で0.6未満のtan d値を有する。
接着剤サンプルAを有する複合材カップの断熱特性について試験した。オープンリング上に2つの熱電対(Digi−Sense,Type J)を、両側に配置し、2つの熱電対のみがカップの上面に置かれるようにカップをリング状に構成した。二つの圧縮可能な発泡体もまた、接触点での圧力を模倣するために、熱電対の他方に配置した。190.25°Fの水を複合材カップに注ぎ、熱電対の温度を記録した。5秒間隔での熱電対測定値の平均を、表2に示し、時間に対する全体の温度プロットを図1に示す。
膨張した接着剤は、高温圧縮試験中の複合材の構造的完全性を提供した。サンプルAの3ビーズ(大きさ直径2.4mm)を、2つの基材の間に適用し、マイクロ波加熱により膨張した。ASTM法D5024に従って、複合材は、その後、191°F、2psiの力で2分間圧縮した。圧縮%の結果を表3及び図2に示す。
ホットクリープ試験をサンプルAの接着剤と2つの基材で作られた複合材で行った。固体漂白亜硫酸ボード上に、サンプルAの5つの1/2”アレイドットを配置し、第2の固体漂白亜硫酸ボードで覆った。この複合材は、次いで、TAインスツルメンツDMA Q−800に入れ、191°F(88.3℃)に設定したホットプレートで加熱し、その後ASTM D5024(0.25inch2)に従って試験した。300gの力に到達した時点で、歪み率を測定した(時間0とする)。同じホットクリープ試験を、比較接着剤および同じ基材で作られた複合材を用いて行い、歪み率を表4に記載する。
Claims (20)
- (a)エマルジョン重合により調製された水系ポリマー、
(b)複数の膨張性マイクロスフェア、および
(c)任意に添加剤
を含有する水性系接着剤であって、水系ポリマーが(i)70℃〜110℃の範囲の温度範囲で0.5MPaより大きい弾性率、(ii)70℃〜110℃の範囲の温度範囲で0.05未満の絶対値log(E)/T勾配、および(iii)90℃で0.6未満のtan d値を有する水性系接着剤。 - 水系ポリマーが、(i)85℃〜100℃の範囲の温度範囲で1MPaより大きく5MPaの範囲の弾性率を有する、請求項1に記載の水性系接着剤。
- 水系ポリマーが、酢酸ビニルエチレン分散体、ポリ酢酸ビニル、ポリ酢酸ビニルポリビニルアルコール、デキストリン安定化ポリ酢酸ビニル、ポリ酢酸ビニルコポリマー、酢酸ビニル−エチレンコポリマー、ビニルアクリル酸、スチレンアクリル酸、アクリル酸、スチレンブチルゴム、ポリウレタンおよびこれらの混合物からなる群から選択されるエマルジョン系ポリマーからなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の水性系接着剤。
- 膨張性マイクロスフェアが、炭化水素コアとポリアクリロニトリルシェルを有する、請求項1に記載の水性系接着剤。
- 膨張性マイクロスフェアが、約80℃〜約100℃の温度で膨張を開始する、請求項1に記載の水性系接着剤。
- 膨張性マイクロスフェアが、約120℃〜約130℃の最大膨張温度を有する、請求項1に記載の水性系接着剤。
- 添加剤が、粘着付与剤、可塑剤、架橋剤およびこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項1に記載の水性系接着剤。
- 架橋剤が、硝酸アルミニウム、酢酸ジルコニウム、炭酸ジルコニルアンモニウム、およびこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項7に記載の水性系接着剤。
- さらに架橋剤、消泡剤、保存剤、界面活性剤、レオロジー調整剤、充填剤、顔料、染料、安定剤、ポリビニルアルコール、保湿剤、およびこれらの混合物を含む、請求項1に記載の水性系接着剤。
- 接着剤が、さらに、多価の水溶性塩である促進剤を含む、請求項1に記載の水性系接着剤。
- 多価の水溶性塩が、硝酸アルミニウム、酢酸ジルコニウム、炭酸ジルコニルアンモニウム、およびこれらの混合物からなる群から選択される、請求項10に記載の水性系接着剤組成物。
- 以下の工程、
(a)(1)(i)70℃〜110℃の範囲の温度範囲で0.5MPaより大きい弾性率、(ii)70℃〜110℃の範囲の温度範囲で0.05未満の絶対値log(E)/T勾配、および(iii)90℃で0.6未満のtan d値を有するエマルジョン重合により調製された水系ポリマー、および
(2)複数の膨張性マイクロスフェアを含有する組成物を調製する、
(b)紙、板紙または木材である基材上に組成物を適用する、
(c)実質的に水を除去するために組成物を乾燥する、および
(d)組成物を膨張させる、
を含む、物品を形成する方法。 - 組成物が、パターンで適用される、請求項12に記載の方法。
- パターンが、一連の点、ストライプ、波模様、市松模様、または実質的にフラットな底面を有する多面体の形状である、請求項13に記載の方法。
- 工程(c)および(d)を同時に行う、請求項12に記載の方法。
- セルロース基材および
(a)(i)70℃〜110℃の範囲の温度範囲で0.5MPaより大きい弾性率、(ii)70℃〜110℃の範囲の温度範囲で0.05未満の絶対値log(E)/T勾配、および(iii)90℃で0.6未満のtan d値を有するエマルジョン重合により調製された水系ポリマー、および
(b)複数の膨張性マイクロスフェア
を含有する組成物を含む物品。 - 水系ポリマーが、酢酸ビニルエチレン分散体、ポリ酢酸ビニル、ポリ酢酸ビニルポリビニルアルコール、デキストリン安定化ポリ酢酸ビニル、ポリ酢酸ビニルコポリマー、酢酸ビニル−エチレンコポリマー、ビニルアクリル酸、スチレンアクリル酸、アクリル酸、スチレンブチルゴム、ポリウレタンおよびこれらの混合物からなる群から選択されるエマルジョン系ポリマーからなる群から選択される、請求項16に記載の物品。
- セルロース基材が、ファイバーボード、段ボール、ソリッド漂白ボード、クラフト紙またはコート紙である、請求項17に記載の物品。
- 多層基材である、請求項16に記載の物品。
- カップ、食品容器、ケース、ボール箱、バッグ、箱、蓋、封筒、ラップまたはクラムシェルである請求項19に記載の多層基材。
