Abstract
【解決手段】偏光子保護フィルムは、ポリエチレンテレフタレート(polyethylene terephthalate、PET)を含み、波長550nmで面内位相差及び厚さ方向位相差が以下の(1)及び(2)の条件を満たし、(1)面内位相差(Ro)≦350nm、(2)16,000nm≧厚さ方向位相差(Rth)≧6,000nm、有効幅内で幅変化量に対する厚さ方向位相差の変化量(|ΔRth|/|Δx|)が1.5nm/mm未満であり、有効幅内の厚さ方向位相差の偏差(Rth,max−Rth,min)が1,500nm/m以下である。

Description

前記保護フィルムの素材としてポリエチレンテレフタレート(PET)樹脂(SKC社製)を使った。PET樹脂を押出機で約280℃で押し出し、キャスティングロールで約30℃でキャスティングして未延伸シート(sheet)を製造した。
前記実施例及び比較例による保護フィルムの面内位相差(Ro)、厚さ方向位相差(Rth)、有効幅内の面内位相差(Ro,max−Ro,min)及び有効幅内の厚さ方向位相差(Rth,max−Rth,min)を測定した。その結果は下記の表2の通りである。
1)幅の中心での面内位相差(Ro)
前記実施例及び比較例による保護フィルムを表示装置に適用したときの外観評価、結晶化度、密度、鉛筆硬度、ハードコーティング適用後の鉛筆硬度及び高温での引張係数を測定した。その結果は下記の表3及び表4の通りである。
1)視認性は波柄及び眩しさ現状の発生有無で評価した。評価基準は次のようである。

Claims (14)
- ポリエチレンテレフタレート(polyethylene terephthalate、PET)を含み、
波長550nmで面内位相差及び厚さ方向位相差が以下の(1)及び(2)の条件を満たし、
(1)面内位相差(Ro)≦350nm
(2)16,000nm≧厚さ方向位相差(Rth)≧6,000nm
有効幅内で幅変化量に対する厚さ方向位相差の変化量(|ΔRth|/|Δx|)が1.5nm/mm未満であり、
有効幅内の厚さ方向位相差の偏差(Rth,max−Rth,min)が1,500nm/m以下である、偏光子保護フィルム。 - 幅の中心で厚さ方向位相差(Rth)が6,800nm以上である、請求項1に記載の偏光子保護フィルム。
- 幅の中心で面内位相差(Ro)に対する厚さ方向位相差(Rth)の比(Rth/Ro)が60以上かつ1,600以下である、請求項1に記載の偏光子保護フィルム。
- 幅の中心で面内位相差(Ro)が200nm以下である、請求項1に記載の偏光子保護フィルム。
- 幅の中心から幅方向に±500mm距離内での面内位相差(Ro)が250nm以下である、請求項1に記載の偏光子保護フィルム。
- 幅の中心から幅方向に±1000mm距離内での面内位相差(Ro)が300nm以下である、請求項1に記載の偏光子保護フィルム。
- 有効幅内の面内位相差の偏差(Ro,max−Ro,min)が250nm/m以下である、請求項1に記載の偏光子保護フィルム。
- 有効幅内で幅変化量に対する面内位相差の変化量(|ΔRo|/|Δx|)が0.3nm/mm未満である、請求項1に記載の偏光子保護フィルム。
- 長手方向(MD)の延伸比は2.8〜3.5であり、
幅方向(TD)の延伸比は2.9〜3.7である、請求項1に記載の偏光子保護フィルム。 - 幅方向(TD)の延伸比に対する長さ方向(MD)の延伸比の比(MD/TD)は0.9〜1.1である、請求項1に記載の偏光子保護フィルム。
- 厚さが20μm〜60μmである、請求項1に記載の偏光子保護フィルム。
- 前記偏光子保護フィルムは長手方向及び幅方向に延伸された後、160℃〜230℃の温度で熱処理されたものである、請求項1に記載の偏光子保護フィルム。
- 偏光子、及び
前記偏光子の上面及び下面の少なくとも一面に引接する請求項1〜12のいずれか一項の保護フィルムを含む、偏光板。 - 表示パネル、及び
前記表示パネルの上面及び下面の少なくとも一面に配置される請求項13に記載の偏光板を含む、表示装置。
