Abstract
Description
本出願は、2013年10月2日に出願された米国仮出願番号第61/885,549号の利益を主張する。
(a)塩化ビニル樹脂と、
(b)生物可塑剤と、
(c)三酸化アンチモンと、を含むポリマー組成物であって、
該三酸化アンチモンが、該三酸化アンチモンの全重量に基づいて、300ppm以下の量のヒ素を含み、
該三酸化アンチモンが、該三酸化アンチモンの全重量に基づいて、410ppm以下の量の鉛を含み、
該三酸化アンチモンが、該三酸化アンチモンの全重量に基づいて、10ppm以下の量の鉄を含む、前記ポリマー組成物である。
本組成物の塩化ビニル樹脂(塩化ビニルポリマーとも称される)成分は固体の高分子量ポリマーであり、このポリマーは、ポリ塩化ビニルホモポリマー、または1つ以上の追加のコモノマーの共重合化単位を有する塩化ビニルのインターポリマーであり得る。本明細書中で使用される「ポリマー」は、同じまたは異なる種類のモノマーを反応させることによって(すなわち、重合化)調製される高分子化合物を意味する。「ポリマー」は、ホモポリマー及びインターポリマーを含む。本明細書中で使用される「ホモポリマー」は、単一のモノマーの種類由来の反復単位を含むポリマーを意味するが、ホモポリマーを調製する際に使用された他の成分の残量を除外しない。「インターポリマー」は、少なくとも2つの異なる種類のモノマーを重合化することによって調製されたポリマーを意味する。この総称には通常、2つの異なる種類のモノマーから調製されたポリマーを指すために採用されるコポリマー、及び2つ超の異なる種類のモノマーから調製されたポリマー、例えば、ターポリマー(3つの異なる種類のモノマー)、テトラポリマー(4つの異なる種類のモノマー)等が含まれる。
「可塑剤」とは、それが添加される樹脂の弾性率及び引張強度を低下させ、かつ可撓性、伸び、衝撃強度、及び引裂強度を上昇させる物質である。可塑剤はまた、樹脂の融点を低下させる、ガラス転移温度を低下させる、かつ可塑剤が添加される樹脂の加工性を高めることもできる。
上述のように、高純度三酸化アンチモン(Sb2O3)は、本明細書中に記載のポリマー組成物中で使用される。本明細書中で使用される「高純度」三酸化アンチモンは、三酸化アンチモンの全重量に基づいて、300ppm以下の量のヒ素と、410ppm以下の量の鉛と、10ppm以下の量の鉄とを含有するものである。種々の実施形態では、高純度三酸化アンチモンは、三酸化アンチモンの全重量に基づいて、300ppm未満、170ppm未満、150ppm未満、100ppm未満、または50ppm未満の量のヒ素を含有する。1つ以上の実施形態では、高純度三酸化アンチモンは、三酸化アンチモンの全重量に基づいて、410ppm未満、300ppm未満、170ppm未満、または10ppm未満の量の鉛を含有する。種々の実施形態では、高純度三酸化アンチモンは、三酸化アンチモンの全重量に基づいて、10ppm未満、7ppm未満、または3ppm未満の量の鉄を含有する。
一実施形態では、本ポリマー組成物は熱安定剤を含む。好適な熱安定剤の非限定実施例は、無鉛混合金属熱安定剤、鉛安定剤、有機熱安定剤、エポキシド、モノカルボン酸の塩、フェノール係酸化防止剤、有機亜リン酸、ハイドロタルサイト、ゼオライト、過塩素酸塩、及び/またはベータジケトンを含む。好適なベータジケトンの非限定実施例は、ジベンゾイルメタン、パルミトイルベンゾイルメタン、ステアロイルベンゾイルメタン、及びそれらの混合物である。好適なジベンゾイルメタンの非限定実施例は、Rhodiastab(登録商標)83である。パルミトイルベンゾイルメタンとステアロイルベンゾイルメタンとの好適な混合物の非限定実施例は、Rhodiastab(登録商標)50である。好適な無鉛混合金属熱安定剤の非限定実施例は、Mark(登録商標)6797、Mark(登録商標)6776 ACM、Mark(登録商標)6777 ACM、Therm−Chek(登録商標)RC215P、Therm−Chek(登録商標)7208、Naftosafe(登録商標)EH−314、Baeropan(登録商標)MC 90400 KA、Baeropan(登録商標)MC 90400 KA/1、Baeropan(登録商標)MC8553 KA−ST 3−US、Baeropan(登録商標)MC 9238 KA−US、Baeropan(登録商標)MC 90249 KA、及びBaeropan(登録商標)MC 9754 KAを含む。熱安定剤または熱安定剤は、本開示の生物可塑剤に添加することができる。熱安定剤は、本ポリマー組成物の量に基づいて、0.1〜10重量%の量で使用され得る。
概して、PVC配合の当業者には既知である従来の乾燥ブレンドまたは湿潤ブレンド方法に準じて、本ポリマー組成物を調製する。このブレンドプロセスから得た混合物を、Banburyバッチ混合器、Farrel Continuous Mixer、もしくは一軸または二軸押出機等の混合器を使用して、さらに配合することができる。
本発明の別の態様は、上述のポリマー組成物のうちの1つ以上を含む、成形物品または押し出し物品等の物品を提供する。
湿潤絶縁抵抗
各試料について、有効測定長が10フィートである(14フィートの総長さで、水の外側の各端部が2フィートである)3つのワイヤ標本を、Underwriters Laboratories(「UL」)規格83によって指定されるように、長期間の75℃での湿潤IRで測定する。エージング電圧を600V ACとし、測定電圧を500V DCとして、60秒間印加する。
以下の実施例では、以下の材料を使用する。
1つの比較試料(CS1)及び4つの試料(S1−S4)を、以下の表1に提供される配合に準じて調製する。
Claims (10)
- (a)塩化ビニル樹脂と、
(b)生物可塑剤と、
(c)三酸化アンチモンと、を含むポリマー組成物であって、
該三酸化アンチモンが、該三酸化アンチモンの全重量に基づいて、300ppm以下の量のヒ素を含み、
該三酸化アンチモンが、該三酸化アンチモンの全重量に基づいて、410ppm以下の量の鉛を含み、
該三酸化アンチモンが、該三酸化アンチモンの全重量に基づいて、10ppm以下の量の鉄を含む、前記ポリマー組成物。 - 該ポリマー組成物が、該ポリマー組成物の全重量に基づいて、9ppm以下の量のヒ素と、12.3ppm以下の量の鉛と、0.3ppm以下の量の鉄と、を含む、請求項1に記載の前記ポリマー組成物。
- 該ポリマー組成物が、UL規格83に準じて分析されたとき、10週間のエージングと36週間のエージングとの間で30%未満の湿潤絶縁抵抗の損失を呈する、請求項1または請求項2のいずれかに記載の前記ポリマー組成物。
- 該ポリマー組成物が、UL規格83に準じて分析されたときに、36週間のエージング後、少なくとも0.35メガオーム/1,000フィートの湿潤IRを有する、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載の前記ポリマー組成物。
- 前記生物可塑剤が、エポキシ化天然油、エポキシ化脂肪酸アルキルエステル、アセチル化ワックスまたは油、及びそれらの2つ以上の組み合わせからなる群から選択される、請求項1〜4のいずれか一項に記載の前記ポリマー組成物。
- 前記生物可塑剤が、エポキシ化大豆油、及びアセチル化ヒマシワックスを含む、請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載の前記ポリマー組成物。
- 該三酸化アンチモンが、全ポリマー組成物重量に基づいて1〜7重量%の範囲の量で存在し、該生物可塑剤が、全ポリマー組成物重量に基づいて5〜60重量%の範囲の量で存在し、該塩化ビニル樹脂が、全ポリマー組成物重量に基づいて30〜80重量%の範囲の量で存在する、請求項1〜6のいずれか一項に記載の前記ポリマー組成物。
- 前記塩化ビニル樹脂が、ポリ塩化ビニルホモポリマーである、請求項1〜7のいずれか一項に記載の前記ポリマー組成物。
- ワイヤまたはケーブル用のシースであって、請求項1〜8のいずれか一項に記載の前記ポリマー組成物から少なくとも部分的に作製される、前記シース。
- 請求項9に記載の前記シースを備える、ワイヤまたはケーブル。
