Abstract
Description
本出願は、2013年3月15日出願の米国仮出願第61/792,544号明細書に基づく優先権を主張する。本出願は、その教示のすべてについてその全体が参照により本明細書に組み込まれる。
a.脂肪酸資源から1種以上の脂肪酸を分離することと、
b.1種以上のアルケンの存在下で脂肪酸を加熱して、1種以上のアルカン、アルケン、またはそれらの混合物を含む燃料または溶媒を製造することと、
を含む。
Claims (27)
- 脂肪酸資源から燃料、プラットフォーム化学品、または溶媒を製造する方法において、1種以上のアルケンの存在下で前記脂肪酸資源を加熱することを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記脂肪酸資源が、モノグリセリド、ジグリセリド、トリグリセリド、脂質、遊離脂肪酸もしくはその塩、またはそれらの任意の組合せを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記脂肪酸資源が、植物油、動物脂肪、使用済み調理油、バイオソリッド由来脂質、脂質、リン脂質、トリグリセリド、またはバイオ油を含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項3に記載の方法において、前記植物油が、トウモロコシ油、メンジツ油、キャノーラ油、ナタネ油、オリーブ油、パーム油、ラッカセイ油、グラウンドナッツ油、サフラワー油、ゴマ油、ダイズ油、ヒマワリ油、藻油、アーモンド油、アンズ油、アルガン油、アボカド油、ベン油、カシュー油、ヒマシ油、ブドウ種子油、ヘーゼルナッツ油、アサミ油、アマニ油、カラシ油ニーム油、パーム核油、カボチャ種子油、コメヌカ油、またはクルミ油、トール油それらの組合せを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項3に記載の方法において、前記動物脂肪が、海獣脂肪、タラ肝油、ギー、ラード、獣脂、それらの誘導体、またはそれらの組合せを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記アルケンの存在下で加熱する前に脂肪酸資源から遊離脂肪酸が分離されることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項6に記載の方法において、前記方法が、(a)前記脂肪酸資源から1種以上のトリグリセリドを分離することと、(b)前記トリグリセリドを加水分解して前記遊離脂肪酸を生成することと、(c)前記遊離脂肪酸を単離することと、を含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項7に記載の方法において、前記遊離脂肪酸が、飽和脂肪酸、不飽和脂肪酸、またはそれらの組合せを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項7に記載の方法において、前記遊離脂肪酸が、酪酸、ラウリン酸、ミリスチン酸、パルミチン酸、ステアリン酸、アラキジン酸、α−リノレン酸、ドコサヘキサエン酸、エイコサペンタエン酸、リノール酸、アラキドン酸、オレイン酸、エルカ酸、植物源もしくは動物源に由来する天然由来脂肪酸、またはそれらの組合せを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記アルケンが、エチレン、プロピレン、ブテン、もしくはそれらの異性体、またはそれらの任意の組合せであることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記脂肪酸資源が、周囲圧〜2,000psiの圧力でアルケンの雰囲気下で加熱されることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記加熱ステップが220℃〜650℃の温度で行われることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記加熱ステップが250℃〜500℃の温度で2秒間〜8時間行われることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記加熱ステップが追加の水素の不在下で行われることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記加熱ステップが脱カルボキシル化触媒の不在下で行われることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記加熱ステップが脱カルボキシル化触媒の存在下で行われることを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法において、前記脂肪酸の脱カルボキシル化速度が、1種以上のアルケンの存在下で加熱した場合、同一の温度および時間で不活性雰囲気下で加熱される同一の脂肪酸と比較してより大きいことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項17に記載の方法において、前記不活性雰囲気が窒素であることを特徴とする方法。
- バイオマス供給原料から燃料、プラットフォーム化学品、または溶媒を製造する方法において、1種以上のアルケンの存在下で前記バイオマス供給原料を加熱することを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 重油から燃料、プラットフォーム化学品、または溶媒を製造する方法において、1種以上のアルケンの存在下で前記重油を加熱することを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 脂肪酸資源から分岐状アルカン、分岐状アルケン、またはそれらの組合せを製造する方法において、1種以上のアルケンの存在下で前記脂肪酸資源を加熱することを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- バイオマス供給原料から分岐状アルカン、分岐状アルケン、またはそれらの組合せを製造する方法において、1種以上のアルケンの存在下で前記バイオマス供給原料を加熱することを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 重油から分岐状アルカン、分岐状アルケン、またはそれらの組合せを製造する方法において、1種以上のアルケンの存在下で前記重油を加熱することを含むことを特徴とする方法。
- 請求項1乃至23の何れか1項に記載の方法により製造されることを特徴とする燃料または溶媒。
- 請求項1乃至24の何れか1項に記載の方法により製造されることを特徴とする分岐状アルケン、分岐状アルカン、またはそれらの組合せ。
- 請求項25に記載の燃料または溶媒において、前記燃料または溶媒が窒素および硫黄を実質的に含まないことを特徴とする燃料または溶媒。
- 請求項26に記載の分岐状アルカン、分岐状アルケン、またはそれらの組合せにおいて、前記分岐状アルカン、前記分岐状アルケン、またはそれらの組合せが窒素および硫黄を実質的に含まないことを特徴とする分岐状アルカン、分岐状アルケン、またはそれらの組合せ。
