Abstract
【解決手段】多孔質の隔壁1を有する柱状のハニカム構造部4を備え、ハニカム構造部4には、隔壁1によって、ハニカム構造部4の第一端面11から第二端面12まで延びる複数のセル2が区画形成され、隔壁1は、主相としてシリコン相を含む多孔体からなり、主相としてのシリコン相は、シリコン以外の金属及びシリサイドを形成している金属の、各金属のそれぞれの含有量が、シリコン100質量部に対して、0.3質量部以下である、ハニカム構造体100。

Description
実施例1においては、シリコン原料粉末として、シリコン原料粉末Aを用いた。成形原料は、シリコン原料粉末Aを5000g、バインダーとしてのメチルセルロースを350g、更に、適量の水を加えて調製した。
実施例2においては、シリコン原料粉末として、シリコン原料粉末Aを用いた。成形原料は、シリコン原料粉末Aを5000g、平均粒子径が2μmのコージェライト粉末を50g、バインダーとしてのメチルセルロースを350g、更に、適量の水を加えて調製した。このようにして得られた成形原料を用い、焼成の温度条件を以下のように変更した以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で、ハニカム構造体を得た。実施例2における焼成は、まず、1200℃まで2時間で昇温し、次に、1400℃まで20時間で昇温し、更に、1400℃で2時間保持することによって行った。焼成は、Ar雰囲気中で行った。以下、この焼成の温度条件を、「焼成条件b」とする。
実施例3においては、成形原料に加えるコージェライト粉末の量を、221gに変更した以外は、実施例2と同様の方法で、ハニカム構造体を得た。
実施例4においては、焼成の温度条件を以下のように変更した以外は、実施例3と同様の方法で、ハニカム構造体を得た。実施例4における焼成は、まず、1200℃まで2時間で昇温し、次に、1400℃まで67時間で昇温し、更に、1400℃で2時間保持することによって行った。焼成は、Ar雰囲気中で行った。以下、この焼成の温度条件を、「焼成条件c」とする。
実施例5においては、成形原料に加えるコージェライト粉末の量を、739gに変更した以外は、実施例4と同様の方法で、ハニカム構造体を得た。
実施例6においては、成形原料に加えるコージェライト粉末の量を、2000gに変更した以外は、実施例4と同様の方法で、ハニカム構造体を得た。
実施例7においては、まず、実施例1と同様の方法で、ハニカム構造体を得た。その後、得られたハニカム構造体を熱処理し、多孔体の主相としてのシリコン相の表面に、SiO2からなる酸化物を形成した。熱処理は、大気中、1250℃の温度雰囲気で行った。実施例7については、得られたハニカム構造体の隔壁を構成する多孔体から、試験片を切り出し、得られた試験片の破断面をSEMにて観察した。この観察の結果、シリコン相の表面に第二態様の酸化物と想定される物質が確認されたため、更に、EDSを用いて、その元素を特定した。この結果、シリコン相の表面にSi、及びOが検出され、且つ、シリコン相の内部にSiのみが検出されたため、シリコン相の表面にSiO2が存在していると判断した。即ち、実施例7のハニカム構造体には、第二態様におけるSiO2が存在していた。
比較例1においては、シリコン原料粉末として、シリコン原料粉末Bを用いたこと以外は、実施例1と同様の方法で、ハニカム構造体を得た。比較例1のハニカム構造体の隔壁の状態を、走査型電子顕微鏡によって観察した。走査型電子顕微鏡による観察は、実施例1と同様の方法で行った。図11は、比較例1のハニカム構造体の走査型電子顕微鏡による反射電子像を撮影した写真である。
実施例1のハニカム構造体の隔壁は、比較例1のハニカム構造体の隔壁と比較して、多孔体の骨格太さの標準偏差が小さく、且つ、多孔体の骨格長さの平均値が大きいものであった。このような多孔体の微構造が実現されているため、実施例1のハニカム構造体の隔壁は、熱拡散率が高いものであった。
Claims (18)
- 多孔質の隔壁を有する柱状のハニカム構造部を備え、
前記ハニカム構造部には、前記隔壁によって、前記ハニカム構造部の第一端面から第二端面まで延びる複数のセルが区画形成され、
前記隔壁は、主相としてシリコン相を含む多孔体からなり、
前記主相としての前記シリコン相は、シリコン以外の金属及びシリサイドを形成している金属の、各金属のそれぞれの含有量が、シリコン100質量部に対して、0.3質量部以下である、ハニカム構造体。 - 前記多孔体は、前記主相としての前記シリコン相を、70質量%以上含む、請求項1に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記主相としての前記シリコン相が、前記シリコン以外の金属及びシリサイドを形成している金属として、Fe、Ca、Al、Ti、及びZrからなる群から選択される少なくとも1つの金属を含む、請求項1又は2に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記多孔体は、酸化物を含み、前記酸化物は少なくともSiO2を含む、請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記多孔体は、前記酸化物を1〜30質量%含む、請求項4に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記多孔体中に存在する前記シリコン相及び前記酸化物の第一態様において、
前記主相としての前記シリコン相が、複数のシリコン粒子を含んでなり、前記酸化物が、複数の前記シリコン粒子間に存在する、請求項4又は5に記載のハニカム構造体。 - 前記第一態様における前記酸化物の粒子径が、5μm以下である、請求項6に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記酸化物が、MgO、Al2O3、及びSiO2からなる第一の酸化物を含む、請求項4〜7のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記多孔体中に存在する前記シリコン相及び前記酸化物の第二態様において、
前記酸化物が、前記主相としての前記シリコン相の表面に存在する、請求項4〜8のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。 - 前記酸化物が、SiO2からなる第二の酸化物を含む、請求項4〜9のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記酸化物が、コージェライト、及びクリストバライトのいずれか1つ以上を含む、請求項4〜10のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記多孔体の骨格太さの標準偏差が2μm以下である、請求項1〜11のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記多孔体の骨格長さの平均値が90μm以上である、請求項1〜12のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記多孔体の気孔率が、25〜65%である、請求項1〜13のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記多孔体の平均細孔径が、5〜40μmである、請求項1〜14のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記ハニカム構造部の前記第一端面及び前記第二端面において、少なくとも1つの前記セルの開口部を目封止する目封止部を、更に備える、請求項1〜15のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記ハニカム構造部が、複数個のハニカムセグメントが互いの側面同士が対向するように隣接して配置された状態で接合されたハニカムセグメント接合体である、請求項1〜16のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
- 前記ハニカム構造部が、前記ハニカム構造部の外周を覆うように配置された外周壁を有し、
前記外周壁が、一対の電極部を有する、請求項1〜17のいずれか一項に記載のハニカム構造体。
