Abstract
Description
典型的な実施形態を、処方および使用について以下に詳述する。しかしながら、下記のシステムおよび組成物の特徴を組み込むいかなるシステムも、この典型的な実施形態の範囲と趣旨によって網羅され得ることが想定される。
本開示のプロセス黒インク組成物は、任意の所望の、または適切な方法によって製造できる。いくつかの実施形態では、例えばシアン顔料を含む前記シアン着色剤、例えばマゼンタ顔料を含む前記マゼンタ着色剤、および例えば黄色顔料を含む前記黄色着色剤は、本書に記載された比で、残りの成分、例えば、分散剤、モノマー、オリゴマー、光開始剤、安定剤、および充填剤の処理に先だって、音響混合によって混合され得る。いくつかの実施形態では、前記音響混合は、羽根のない密閉容器を具備し、低周波高負荷音響エネルギーを用いて、本開示のプロセス黒インク組成物を製造するために使用される顔料の所望の混合またはブレンドをもたらす音響混合機を用いて行われ得る。
本開示は、さらに、本開示のプロセス黒インク組成物を、画像再形成可能な画像形成部材表面であって、前記画像再形成可能な画像形成部材が湿し流体をその上に有する表面に塗布し;インク画像を形成し;前記画像形成部材の画像再形成可能表面から前記インク画像を印刷可能基材に転写することを含むデジタルオフセット印刷方法を提供する。
いくつかの実施形態では、プロセス黒インク画像は、最初にシアンインク組成物、マゼンタインク組成物、および黄色インク組成物を本書に記載のように製造し、次に、プロセス黒色を含む画像を形成するためにこれら3種のインク組成物を基材に重ね合わせて形成される。
以下のように、シアン、マゼンタ、および黄色顔料分散体の最適比を見出すために多数のインクを処方して最適のプロセス黒を処方した。
図2は、シアンインクの製造方法を示す。総量400gに基づいて、図2または表1に記載の分散剤、モノマー、オリゴマー、および安定剤を1Lのステンレス鋼容器に加えた。この容器は、デラウェア州ウィルミントンIKA(登録商標)Works,Inc.から入手可能な、熱電対および撹拌装置(IKA(登録商標))ならびにアンカー羽根を備えたマントルヒーターに設置した。この容器の成分を、約80℃で約30分間撹拌した。光開始剤は、その後約80℃で約15分間撹拌しながらゆっくりと加えた。これら展色剤基材成分の溶解と同時に、シアン顔料(ニューヨーク州タリータウンCiba Specialty Chemicals製Irgalite(登録商標)Blue GLO)60g(15wt.%)をこの展色剤に加え、撹拌した。この着色混合物はその後80℃で約60分間撹拌させた。次にこの着色混合物を含む容器を直径40mmの高せん断コールズブレードを備えた高速せん断ミル(ノースカロライナ州エリザベスシティーHockmeyer Equipment Corporation)に移し、5000RPMで約45分間撹拌した。この時点で、クレーをゆっくりとこの着色混合物に加え、その後さらに約15分間再び撹拌した。
図3は、マゼンタインクの製造方法を示す。図3または表1に記載の成分を用いてマゼンタインクを製造した。分散剤、モノマー、オリゴマー、および安定剤をまず1Lのステンレス鋼容器に加え、シアンインクについて上述した通りに混合した。光開始剤は、その後約80℃で約15分間撹拌しながらゆっくりと加えた。これら硬化性展色剤基材成分の溶解と同時に、マゼンタ顔料(スイスムッテンツClariant International Ltd製PR L5B01)60g(15wt.%)をこの展色剤に加え、撹拌した。この着色混合物はその後80℃で約90分間撹拌させた。次にこの着色混合物を含む容器を直径40mmの高せん断コールズブレードを備えた高速せん断ミルHockmeyer 15−65(ノースカロライナ州エリザベスシティーHockmeyer Equipment Corporation)に移し、5000RPMで約45分間撹拌した。この時点で、クレーをゆっくりとこの着色混合物に加え、その後さらに約15分間再び撹拌した。
図4は、黄色インクの製造方法を示す。これら黄色インクの成分は、下記表1または図4に記載の黄色インクの成分(顔料以外)をすべて約10分間音響混合によって混合して製造した。この混合物をその後1Lのステンレス鋼容器に移した。この容器を、熱電対および撹拌装置(IKA(登録商標))ならびにアンカー羽根を備えたIKA(登録商標)から入手可能なマントルヒーターに設置した。PY13の70g(17.5wt.%)をこの容器に加え、これら成分を800RPMで60分間、80℃で撹拌した。次にこの成分混合物を3本ロールミル装置(Kent Machine Works)に定量的に移し、ここでこの材料複合ペーストを3本ロールミルに、まず初回について供給ロール速度400RPMで通し、次に2回目について供給ロール速度200RPMで通した。この混合物をその後褐色ガラス瓶に排出した。
プロセス黒インク対象の試料5gを下記表2に記載の処方に従って製造した。各処方の成分は、ガラス表面上でヘラを用いてともに混合し、均質混合物を得た。
光学濃度の異なる印刷を作り、これらのdE2000値を得た。D65照明下でのdE2000値を表5に示す。Standard Pantone(登録商標)Blackを基準値として用いた。人間の視覚は、2色が実際に互いに接触している場合、色差に対してより敏感であることを考えれば、互いに接触していない2色間のdE2000値1以下は、平均的な印刷機を用いてかろうじて認識される。3未満の任意のdE2000値は、許容範囲の一致であると考えられる。
本プロセス黒のレオロジー特性は、顔料比を決めるために用いたシアン、マゼンタ、および黄色インクと同じ条件で測定した。表7および図5は、これらインクの粘度およびせん断減粘性指数を示す。これらのデータが示すのは、これらプロセス黒の特性は、出発の原色の特性から予測可能であり、このことは、これら顔料の選択が適切であったこと、および、顔料間の強い相互作用が存在しないことを証明する。
これらインクの各々を、Heraeus Noblelight America LLC製Dバルブ付Fusion Lighthammer L6硬化ステーションを用いての硬化後に、得られた可視光学濃度が約1から約2におよび、転写された画像のL*明度が約8から約40に及ぶような異なる濃度で、XEROX(登録商標)Digital Color Elite Gloss(DCEG)紙に転写した。UVV、UVA、UVB、およびUVCバンドについての印加エネルギー照射量は、それぞれ640、1401、420、および37mJ/cm2であった。この印刷画像サイズは、約2cm×3cmであった。
硬化性能を評価するために、室温のメチルエチルケトン(MEK)溶剤に浸した柔軟な塗布器を、新たなMEKを二重MEK摩擦の5回毎に塗布器に補給しながらDCEG紙上のこれら画像の各々の全域(約2cm)に一定の圧力で均一に広げた。この紙基材が見えるようになるまでに要したMEK二重摩擦の回数を記録した。これらのデータを図6に示す。
Claims (10)
- デジタルオフセット印刷用のプロセス黒インク組成物であって、
シアン顔料を含むシアン着色剤、
マゼンタ顔料を含むマゼンタ着色剤、および
黄色顔料を含む黄色着色剤を含むとともに、
前記プロセス黒インク組成物は、総量約15wt%以上の顔料、
光開始剤、
分散剤、ならびに
硬化性モノマーおよび硬化性オリゴマーからなる群から選ばれた1以上の成分を含む硬化性インク展色剤成分を含み、
前記プロセス黒インク組成物は、前記シアン着色剤の前記黄色着色剤に対する比0.70−0.80:1.0、および前記マゼンタ着色剤の前記黄色着色剤に対する比0.90−0.80:1.0を含み、前記プロセス黒インク組成物は、カーボンブックを含まないことを特徴とする、プロセス黒インク組成物。 - さらに安定剤を含む請求項1に記載のプロセス黒インク組成物。
- さらに充填剤を含む請求項1に記載のプロセス黒インク組成物。
- 前記プロセス黒インク組成物のL*値が約0から約40におよび、a*値が約1.5から約4.0におよび、b*値が約1.5から約4.5に及ぶ、請求項1に記載のプロセス黒インク組成物。
- プロセス黒インク組成物の製造方法であって、前記方法が、
a)シアン顔料を含むシアン着色剤、マゼンタ顔料を含むマゼンタ着色剤、および黄色顔料を含む黄色着色剤を、前記シアン着色剤の前記黄色着色剤に対する比が0.70−0.80:1.0、および前記マゼンタ着色剤の前記黄色着色剤に対する比が0.90−0.80:1.0で準備し、
b)前記着色剤を音響的に混合し、
c)光開始剤、分散剤、ならびにモノマーおよびオリゴマーからなる群から選ばれた1以上の硬化性インク展色剤成分を、前記音響的に混合された着色剤と音響的に混合して硬化性インク混合物を形成し、
d)c)で形成された前記硬化性インク混合物をミルにかけ、プロセス黒インク組成物を得ることを含むとともに、前記プロセス黒インク組成物はカーボンブラックを含まないことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記シアン着色剤がPigment Blue 15:3を含み、前記マゼンタ着色剤がPigment Red 57:1を含み、前記黄色着色剤がPigment Yellow 14およびPigment Yellow 13からなる群から選ばれた顔料を含む、請求項5に記載の方法。
- Pigment Blue 15:3を含む前記シアン着色剤の前記黄色顔料を含む前記黄色着色剤に対する比が0.76:1であるとともに、Pigment Red 57:1を含む前記マゼンタ着色剤の前記黄色顔料を含む前記黄色着色剤に対する比が0.80:1.0である、請求項6に記載の方法。
- ハーフトーン印刷方法であって、前記方法が、
シアンインク組成物、マゼンタインク組成物、および黄色インク組成物を準備し、
前記シアンインク組成物、前記マゼンタインク組成物、および前記黄色インク組成物を、画像再形成可能な画像形成部材表面に、前記シアンインク組成物の前記黄色インク組成物に対する比が0.70−0.80:1.0、および前記マゼンタインク組成物の前記黄色インク組成物に対する比が0.90−0.80:1.0で塗布し、
インク画像を形成し、
前記画像形成部材の前記画像再形成可能表面から前記インク画像を印刷可能基材に転写してハーフトーン黒画像を形成することを含むとともに、
前記ハーフトーン黒画像はカーボンブラックを含まず、
前記シアンインク組成物がシアン顔料を約15重量%以上含み、前記マゼンタインク組成物がマゼンタ顔料を約15重量%以上含み、前記黄色インク組成物が黄色顔料を約15重量%以上含み、
前記シアンインク組成物、前記マゼンタインク組成物、および前記黄色インク組成物が各々さらに
光開始剤、
分散剤、ならびに
硬化性モノマーおよび硬化性オリゴマーからなる群から選ばれた1以上の成分を含む硬化性インク展色剤成分を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記画像形成部材の前記画像再形成可能表面からの前記インク画像の印刷可能基材への前記転写は、効率が90%以上である、請求項8に記載の方法。
- さらに、前記シアン、マゼンタ、および黄色インク組成物を画像再形成可能な画像形成部材表面に塗布したのちに、前記シアン、マゼンタ、および黄色インク組成物を部分的に硬化させることを含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
