【解決手段】
本発明の一実施形態による液晶表示装置は、第1基板と、前記第1基板上に位置する薄膜トランジスタと、前記薄膜トランジスタに接続する第1電極と、前記第1電極上に位置する第1配向膜と、を含み、前記第1配向膜は、シクロブタンジアンヒドリド(Cyclobutanedianhydride;CBDA)及びシクロブタンジアンヒドリド誘導体のうちの少なくとも一つと、アルキレン基(−CkH2k−、kは自然数)を含む第1ジアミンとの共重合体、及びアルキレン基(−CnH2n−、nは自然数)を含む架橋剤を含み、前記共重合体はポリイミドを含む。

Description
架橋剤は、下記一般式1、一般式2、及び一般式3で表される化合物のうちの少なくとも一つの化合物を含んでもよい。
前記液晶表示装置の製造方法は、前記偏光された光を照射した後に、追加加熱工程を行う段階をさらに含んでもよい。
撹拌機、温度調節装置、窒素ガス注入装置、及び冷却器が装着された4口フラスコに、暗室条件下で窒素を通過させながら、下記一般式4で表される化合物を0.5モル入れ、また、N−メチル−2−ピロリドン(NMP)を入れて、混合溶液を製造した。該混合溶液に固体状態の下記一般式7で表される化合物を1.0モル入れて、約1時間攪拌した。次に、下記一般式5で表される化合物を0.5モル入れて反応させた。このとき、温度を摂氏30℃以上、摂氏60℃以下に維持しながら、約24時間反応を行ってポリアミック酸溶液を製造した。このように製造されたポリアミック酸溶液を蒸留して、ポリアミック酸を得た。このように得られたポリアミック酸の重量平均分子量は3〜50,000であった。該ポリアミック酸にN−メチル−2−ピロリドン(NMP)、及び2−ブチルセロソルブの混合溶媒(体積比=約7:2)を添加し、常温で24時間攪拌した。ここに、下記一般式1−1で表される架橋剤を約5wt%乃至7wt%添加して、ポリアミック酸と架橋剤を含む光配向剤を製造した。
透明なガラスまたはプラスチックなどからなる第1基板110の上に、ゲート線121を含むゲート導電体が形成されている。
画素電極191の上に本発明の一実施形態による光配向剤を塗布し、塗布された光配向剤を加熱(bake)する。加熱する段階は、プリべーク(pre bake)とハードベーク(hard bake)との2段階に分けて行ってもよい。ハードベークの段階で光配向剤に含まれているポリアミック酸はポリイミドに変化し、柔軟な架橋剤が摂氏150℃乃至摂氏200℃でエステル化してポリイミドと結合される。
透明なガラスまたはプラスチックなどからなる第2基板210の上に遮光部材(lightblocking member)220が形成されている。遮光部材220は、ブラックマトリックス(black matrix)とも呼ばれ、光漏れを防止する。
