Abstract
Description
本出願は米国特許法119条(e)に基づき、2012年9月12日提出された仮特許出願番号61/700,248に対して優先権を主張し、その全ての開示内容が参照によって本願に組み込まれる。
本発明は瀝青組成物とその製造方法に関する。
本発明の好ましい実施の態様においては、瀝青原料は舗装用瀝青である。
本発明のある実施の態様においては、本発明のポリオレフィンはポリエチレン(PE)単独重合体、低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE)単独重合体、線状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)単独重合体、高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)単独重合体、酸化低密度ポリエチレン(Ox LDPE)単独重合体、酸化高密度ポリエチレン(Ox HDPE)単独重合体、ポリプロピレン(PP)単独重合体、エチレン−アクリル酸(EAA)共重合体、エチレン−酢酸ビニル(EVA)共重合体、エチレン−無水マレイン酸(MAPE)共重合体、プロピレン−無水マレイン酸(MAPP)共重合体、フィッシャー・トロプシュ・ワックス(FT wax)、及びこれらの混合物から選ばれる。
本発明のある実施の態様においては、ポリオレフィンは本発明の瀝青組成物の全重量の約0.5重量%から約25重量%の濃度で存在する。本発明の他の実施の態様においては、ポリオレフィンは本発明の瀝青組成物の全重量の約0.5重量%から約5重量%、約5重量%から約10重量%、約10重量%から約15重量%、約15重量%から約20重量%、及び約20重量%から約25重量%の濃度で存在する。本発明のより好ましい実施の態様においては、ポリオレフィンは瀝青組成物の全重量の約3重量%の濃度で存在する。
本発明の他の実施の態様においては、瀝青組成物は一種以上の添加剤を含まない。本発明のある実施の態様において、瀝青組成物は如何なるブタジエン/スチレン共重合体をも含まない。本発明の他の実施の態様においては、瀝青組成物はブタジエン/スチレン/ブタジエン三元共重合体(SBS)を含まない。
実施例
下の表1から4に示す通り、異なる結晶性及び半結晶性のポリオレフィンが、瀝青組成物の総重量に対し記載の重量%で瀝青原料(ベースアスファルト)に混合される。混合は約148℃から約160℃(華氏300度から320度)にて(非商用サイズの)低せん断混合機を用い、約100回転/分から約1000回転/分で約1時間から2時間行われ、本発明の瀝青組成物を得る。表1及び2に挙げたポリオレフィンは全て、例えば米国ニュージャージー州のHoneywell Internationalから市販されている。その唯一の例外はFTワックスで、例えばSasol Ltd.から購入可能である。

- ポリオレフィンが、ポリエチレン(PE)単独重合体、低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE)単独重合体、線状低密度ポリエチレン(LLDPE)単独重合体、高密度ポリエチレン(HDPE)単独重合体、酸化低密度ポリエチレン(Ox LDPE)単独重合体、酸化高密度ポリエチレン(Ox HDPE)単独重合体、ポリプロピレン(PP)単独重合体、エチレン−アクリル酸(EAA)共重合体、エチレン−酢酸ビニル(EVA)共重合体、エチレン−無水マレイン酸(MAPE)共重合体、プロピレン−無水マレイン酸(MAPP)共重合体、フィッシャー・トロプシュ・ワックス(FT wax)、及びこれらの混合物から選ばれる、請求項1に記載の瀝青組成物。

- スチレン/ブタジエン/スチレン三元共重合体(SBS)を含まない、請求項5に記載の瀝青組成物。
- 瀝青原料を結晶化度が75%超のポリオレフィンと混合することにより製造される、請求項1に記載の瀝青組成物。
- a)瀝青原料、b)約800から約50,000 g/molの分子量を有するポリオレフィン、c)必要に応じ一種以上の添加剤、を含み、ASTM D36の方法により決定される軟化点が57℃から113℃で、ASTM D5の方法で決定される25℃の針入度が少なくとも約12 dmmである、屋根材用非ブローン瀝青組成物。
- ASTM D36の方法により決定される軟化点が57℃から66℃で、ASTM D5の方法で決定される25℃の針入度が約18から約60 dmmである、請求項8に記載の瀝青組成物。
- ASTM D36の方法により決定される軟化点が70℃から80℃で、ASTM D5の方法で決定される25℃の針入度が約18から約40 dmmである、請求項8に記載の屋根材用非ブローン瀝青組成物。
