Abstract
Description
表4に対応する一連の混合物を用意し、140℃の温度にて1分あたりの回転数が300(RPM)であるCoperion ZSK−26MC60長さ/直径比(L/D)押出機で混合して作成した。合計処理量は1時間あたり50ポンド(lb/hr)であった。押出品は水浴によって冷却し、ペレット状に切断した。数字で指定されている混合物は本発明の実施例を示し、文字で指定されている混合物は比較例を示す。
ポリプロピレン系ポリマー、具体的にはVERSIFY(商標)3200及びVERSIFY(商標)2200をベースポリマーとして用いた一連の混合物を用意した。すべての用意及び溶着は、以下記載の溶着条件及びフィルム厚さのみ変えて、他は上記実施例1−6及び比較例A−Hに記載のとおりに行った。
上記実施例及び比較例の混合及び作成、押し出し並びに溶着プロセスの後、表8及び表9に示すように、追加的な混合物を用意し、その特性の試験を行った。これらの混合物はエチレン系コポリマー、具体的にはAFFINITY(商標)KC8852G及びAFFINITY(商標)PL1850をベースポリマーとして用いて用意した。
上記実施例及び比較例と同様に試料を用意し、表10に記載に基づく混合物の試験を行った。その結果を以下に示す。
比較例(実施例N−R)はより高い融解温度を有するポリオレフィン材料、具体的にはVERSIFY(商標)3000、VERSIFY(商標)2000、DOWLEX(商標)SC2107G及びDOW(商標)LDPE PG7008をベースポリマーとして用いて作製した。この結果、二次ポリマーを採用して上記実施例及び比較例と溶着条件が一致していても、より高い融解温度(100℃より高い)を有するベースポリマーを選択することは溶着性に悪影響を及ぼす可能性があることが示された。
Claims (3)
- 誘電的溶着性ポリオレフィン配合物であって、(1)少なくとも1種のベースポリマー、及び(2)配合物の総重量に対して10%〜40%の範囲内で少なくとも1種の副成分を含み、
前記(1)少なくとも1種のベースポリマーは、
(a)1立方センチメートルあたり0.865〜0.905グラムの密度を有し、10分当たりメルトインデックス(190℃において2.16kgで測定)が0.5〜30グラムである、均一に分岐した、直鎖状又は実質的に直鎖状のエチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマー、
(b)1立方センチメートルあたり0.863〜0.885グラムの密度を有し、10分当たりメルトフローレート(230℃において2.16kgで測定)が2〜30グラムである、均一に分岐したプロピレン/α−オレフィンコポリマー、及び
(c)その組み合わせ、から選択され、
前記(2)少なくとも1種の副成分は、
(a)エチレン酢酸ビニルの重量に対して5〜40wt%の範囲内で酢酸ビニルを含有するエチレン酢酸ビニル、
(b)エチレン−エチルアクリレートの重量に対して5〜25wt%の範囲内でエチルアクリレートを含有するエチレン−エチルアクリレート、及び
(c)その組み合わせ、から選択される、誘電的溶着性ポリオレフィン配合物。 - (a)ポリオレフィン配合物に高周波電磁界によって活性化されうる成分が含まれることと、(b)前記ポリオレフィン配合物から、少なくとも1面を有する基材を形成することと、(c)前記基材がポリオレフィン基材の第2面又は第2のポリオレフィン基材の面に溶着するような条件の下で前記ポリオレフィン基材の前記面を高周波電磁界に曝し、ポリオレフィン系物品を形成することとを含む、ポリオレフィン系物品を形成する方法の改良であって、
前記改良は、
(1)前記ポリオレフィン配合物におけるベースポリマーとして、
(a)1立方センチメートルあたり0.865〜0.905グラムの密度を有し、10分当たりメルトインデックス(190℃において2.16kgで測定)が0.5〜30グラムである、均一に分岐した、直鎖状又は実質的に直鎖状のエチレン/α−オレフィンコポリマー、
(b)1立方センチメートルあたり0.863〜0.885グラムの密度を有し、10分当たりメルトフローレート(230℃において2.16kgで測定)が2〜30グラムである、均一に分岐したプロピレン/α−オレフィンコポリマー、及び
(c)その組み合わせ、からなる群から選択されるポリオレフィンを採用し、
前記ベースポリマーの融解温度が100℃より低く、
(2)ポリオレフィン配合物の副成分として、ポリオレフィン配合物の重量に対して10%〜40%の範囲内で、
(a)エチレン酢酸ビニルコポリマーの重量に対して5重量%〜40重量%の酢酸ビニルを含有するエチレン酢酸ビニルコポリマー、
(b)エチレン−エチルアクリレートコポリマーの重量に対してエチルアクリレートを5%〜25重量%含有するエチレン−エチルアクリレートコポリマー、及び
(c)その組み合わせ、から選択される少なくとも1つのポリマーを含み、
前記ポリオレフィン基材が凝集溶着破壊特性、及び、6秒以下の溶着時間を含む溶着条件下で10ミル(0.254ミリメートル)の厚さを有する基材の溶着強度が1インチあたり7ポンド(1ミリメートルあたり1.23ニュートン)である特性を示す、改良。 - 圧力カフ及び安定化装置から選択される医療用具;玩具、船、クッション及び家具から選択される膨張可能品;日よけ、横断幕、サイン、テント、ターポリン、並びにプール、池、若しくは埋立地用の裏地から選択される敷布地;製本用材料;並びにスポーツバッグ及びリュックサックから選択される運搬体からなる群から選択される、請求項1又は2に記載の高周波溶着ポリオレフィン物品。
