十字軸継手6におけるどちらかの継手ヨーク20を、当該継手ヨーク20の嵌込孔31または42に挿入された(十字軸23の)軸部46まわりに揺動させたときの当該継手ヨーク20の揺動角度θ(図2参照)および揺動トルクを測定した。揺動トルクは、軸受カップ24の内周面48Aと転動体53との間のフリクションに相当し、フリクショントルクとも呼ぶことができる。ここでの測定条件として、揺動角度θを0〜±45°程度とし、継手ヨーク20の揺動速度を0.5〜15rpm(ここでは2.8pmで一定)としている。
