Description
Claims (15)
- インクジェットプリンタ用の圧力調整システムであって、
印刷ヘッドへとインクを供給するためのインクリザーバに連通するように構成された排気口を有するガス管路と、
前記ガス管路内の流体の圧力を検出するように構成された圧力センサと、
前記ガス管路内の圧力を変化させるために、ガス供給源と前記ガス管路との間でガスを送るように構成された蠕動ポンプと、
前記圧力センサからの出力を受け取り、前記ガス管路内の圧力を制御すべく前記センサの出力に応答して前記蠕動ポンプの動作を制御するように構成されたコントローラと、
を備えるシステム。 - 前記蠕動ポンプは、ガスを両方向に送るように動作することができる
請求項1に記載のシステム。 - 前記ガスが、空気を含む
請求項1または2に記載のシステム。 - 前記ガス供給源が、大気への通気口である
請求項3に記載のシステム。 - 前記ガス管路が、前記ポンプと前記インクリザーバとの間に接続された配管を含む
請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載のシステム。 - 前記ガス管路が、バッファチャンバを含む
請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載のシステム。 - 前記ガス供給源が、前記ポンプと大気との間に接続された配管である
請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載のシステム。 - 前記蠕動ポンプが、略円形または部分円形のハウジングと、該ハウジング内の可撓な配管と、該配管を前記ハウジングに押し付けるように構成された複数のローラを有するロータとを備えている
請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載のシステム。 - 前記コントローラが、印刷動作のためのプリンタの使用に対応する第1のモードを有しており、該第1のモードにおいて、前記コントローラが、前記ガス管路内の圧力を所定の限界内に維持するように前記蠕動ポンプを動作させるように構成されている
請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載のシステム。 - 前記コントローラが、プリンタの印刷ヘッドのパージのためのパージモードに対応する第2のモードを有しており、該第2のモードにおいて、前記コントローラが、所定のパージ量を前記ガス管路へと加えるべく前記蠕動ポンプを動作させるように構成されている
請求項9に記載のシステム。 - 前記コントローラが、前記チャンバ内の圧力を所定の範囲内に維持するために必要なポンプの負荷を監視し、該ポンプの負荷を、正常動作において予想されるポンプの負荷を表す所定の範囲と比較するように構成されている請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載のシステム。
- 前記コントローラが、外部の制御システムへの接続を備える
請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載のシステム。 - インクジェットプリンタにおいてインクの圧力を調整する方法であって、
印刷ヘッドにインクを供給するためのインクリザーバに連通した管路内の圧力を検出するステップと、
前記検出した圧力が所定の必要とされる範囲内にあるか否かを判断するステップと、
否である場合に、前記管路内の圧力を変化させるために、蠕動ポンプを動作させてガス供給源と前記管路との間でガスを送るステップと
