Claims (20)
- 電気刺激リードであって、

さらに、前記リード本体の外面に沿って配置された複数の電極を有し、前記複数の電極は、前記リード本体の遠位端部に配置されたセグメント電極の少なくとも2つのセットを含み、セグメント電極の各セットは、前記リード本体の外周で半径方向が互いに離間した第1のセグメント電極及び第2のセグメント電極を含み、
さらに、前記セグメント電極の前記少なくとも2つのセットの各々の第1のセグメント電極に配置された第1のタブを有し、前記第1のタブの各々は、前記第1のセグメント電極から前記リード本体の中に内向きに延び、
さらに、前記第1のタブの各々に配置されたガイド部を有し、前記ガイド部は各々、前記リード本体の長さ方向に沿って半径方向が互いに整列され、
さらに、前記リード本体の長さ方向に沿って前記近位端部から前記複数の電極まで延びる複数の導体を有し、前記導体の各々は、前記複数の電極の少なくとも1つに電気的に結合され、前記複数の導体の少なくとも1つは、前記第1のタブの前記半径方向が整列したガイド部の中を延びる、電気刺激リード。 - さらに、前記セグメント電極の前記少なくとも2つのセットの各々の第2のセグメント電極に配置された第2のタブを有し、前記第2のタブの各々は、前記第2のセグメント電極から前記リード本体の中に内向きに延びる、請求項1に記載の電気刺激リード。
- 前記ガイド部の各々は、前記第1のタブに設けられた孔を有する、請求項1に記載の電気刺激リード。
- 前記セグメント電極の各セットは、さらに、前記リード本体の外周で前記第1のセグメント電極及び前記第2のセグメント電極から半径方向が離間した第3のセグメント電極を含む、請求項1に記載の電気刺激リード。
- 前記複数の電極は、さらに、前記リード本体の遠位端部に配置された少なくとも1つのリング電極を含む、請求項1に記載の電気刺激リード。
- 前記少なくとも1つのリング電極は、前記リード本体の長さ方向に沿って前記セグメント電極の前記少なくとも2つのセットの各々に対して近位側又は遠位側のいずれかに配置される、請求項5に記載の電気刺激リード。
- さらに、前記リード本体の近位端部に配置された複数の端子を有し、
前記導体の各々は、前記複数の端子のうちの少なくとも1つに電気的に結合される、請求項1に記載の電気刺激リード。 - 電気刺激システムであって、
請求項7に記載の電気刺激リードと、
前記電気刺激リードの近位端部に結合された制御モジュールと、を有し、前記制御モジュールは、刺激を前記複数の電極に供給するように構成され且つ配列される、電気刺激システム。 - 前記電気刺激リードは、少なくとも8つの電極を有し、
前記制御モジュールは、少なくとも8つの刺激チャンネルを有し、各刺激チャンネルは、刺激電流を各チャンネルを介して送出するように独立にプログラム可能である、請求項8に記載の電気刺激システム。 - 刺激デバイスのためのリードを形成する方法であって、
複数のプリ電極を形成する工程を有し、前記プリ電極の各々は、リング形状に形成され、少なくとも2つの厚肉部分によって分離された少なくとも2つの薄肉部分を含み、前記複数のプリ電極のうちの少なくとも2つは各々、前記少なくとも2つの厚肉部分のうちの1つに配置された第1のタブを含み、前記第1のタブの各々は、ガイド部を含み、
さらに、前記複数のプリ電極をリード本体の遠位端の近くに配置する工程と、
少なくとも1つの導体を、前記複数のプリ電極の各々の各厚肉部分に接合させる工程と、を有し、前記少なくとも1つの導体のうちの少なくとも1つは、前記ガイド部の各々の中を通り、それにより、前記ガイド部を前記リード本体の長さ方向に沿って半径方向を整列させ、
前記複数のプリ電極を研磨し、前記複数のプリ電極の各々の薄肉部分を除去し、前記複数のプリ電極の各々の厚肉部分から複数のセグメント電極を形成する工程と、を含む方法。 - 電気刺激リード組立体であって、
患者の中に挿入されるように構成され且つ配列された細長いリード本体を有し、前記リード本体は、遠位端部と、近位端部と、長さと、外周と、外面を有し、
さらに、前記リード本体の遠位端部に結合可能な膜を有し、前記膜は、前記リード本体に結合可能な後面と、前記後面の反対側の前面と、幅を有し、前記膜を前記リード本体の遠位端部に結合させるとき、前記膜は、その幅が前記リード本体の外周に巻かれるように、前記リード本体の遠位端部の外面の少なくとも一部分の上に配置され、
さらに、前記膜の前面に配置された複数の電極と、
前記近位端部から互いに離間した前記複数の電極まで前記リード本体の長さ方向に沿って延びる複数の導体と、を有し、前記導体の各々は、前記複数の電極のうちの少なくとも1つに電気的に結合される、電気刺激リード組立体。 - 前記膜は、その前面に嵌め込まれた複数の収容部を有する、請求項11に記載の電気刺激リード組立体。
- 前記複数の電極は、互いに離間した前記複数の電極のうちの少なくとも1つが前記複数の収容部の1つに配置されるように、前記膜の前面に配置される、請求項12に記載の電気刺激リード組立体。
- 互いに離間した前記複数の電極のうちの、前記複数の収容部の1つに配置された少なくとも1つは、接着剤を使用して前記収容部に結合される、請求項13に記載の電気刺激リード組立体。
- 前記膜の幅の長さは、前記リード本体の外周の長さと等しい、請求項11に記載の電気刺激リード組立体。
- 前記電極の少なくとも1つは、導電性ポリマーから形成される、請求項11に記載の電気刺激リード組立体。
- 前記膜の後面は、前記リード本体の遠位端部に接着剤によって結合される、請求項11に記載の電気刺激リード組立体。
- 前記膜の前面に沿って配置され且つ互いに離間した前記複数の電極は、さらに、少なくとも1つの細長い電極を有し、前記細長い電極は、前記膜の幅の実質的に全体にわたって延び、それにより、前記膜が前記リード本体の周囲に巻かれて結合されたとき、前記少なくとも1つの細長い電極が少なくとも1つの前記リング電極を形成する、請求項11に記載の電気刺激リード組立体。
- 前記膜を前記リード本体の周囲に巻いて結合させたとき、前記複数の電極は、セグメント電極の少なくとも2つのセットを含み、前記セグメント電極の各セットは、3つの前記電極を含む、請求項11に記載の電気刺激リード組立体。
- 刺激デバイスのためのリードを形成する方法であって、
複数の電極を膜の前面に沿って配置する工程と、
前記膜の後面を細長いリード本体の外面の形状に一致させ、前記膜の幅を前記リード本体の外面の周囲に巻き、前記膜の後面を前記リード本体の遠位端部の外面に結合させる工程と、
前記リード本体の長さ方向に沿って延びる個々の導体を前記複数の電極の各々に結合する工程と、を含む方法。
