Claims (9)
- 燃焼エンジンシリンダ(2)内で下死点位置と上死点位置の間を往復移動するように配設されたピストン(3)であって、
前記ピストンは、燃焼室(7)に面した上面を含むピストンクラウン(16)を含み、前記ピストンクラウン(16)は、外側に開口する空洞によって形成されるピストンボウルを含み、前記ピストンボウルは、凹曲線状の断面を有する、外方にフレア状の外側ボウル部(20)を含み、燃焼室に給気を供給する少なくとも一つの吸気ポート(10,12)が設けられ、前記燃焼室の幾何学的中心(15)近くの位置から燃焼室内に燃料を噴射する噴射装置(13)が設けられ、前記外側ボウル部内には、発達する火炎柱の衝突領域が存在し、前記衝突領域の間の実質的な中間部において、前記往復移動に対して実質的に垂直な平面に、燃焼室内に突出し、且つ、火炎柱の運動エネルギを保存するように適合された滑らかな形態を有する突起(70)が配設され、前記突起(70)は、前記往復移動に対して実質的に平行な平面、又は平行に近い状態の平面において外側ボウル領域内にのみ延びる長手隆起の形状をそれぞれ有し、前記隆起は、前記往復移動に対して垂直な平面において見たときに、左横腹部(80)と、頂部区間(81)と、右横腹部(82)とを含み、遷移区間(83)が、前記横腹部のそれぞれと、前記頂部区間との間に設けられ、
前記遷移区間(83)は、流動損失を最小化するための偏向エッジ(71)を含む、ピストン。 - 前記横腹部(80,82)はそれぞれ側面(84)を有し、前記頂部区間(81)は頂面(85)を有し、
側面の接線(87)と頂面の接線(88)の間の離れ角(86)は、前記側面のそれぞれが前記頂面と突き当たって前記偏向エッジを形成する前記遷移区間(83)において、90度と160度の間である、請求項1に記載のピストン。 - 前記離れ角(86)は、120度と150度の間である、請求項2に記載のピストン。
- 偏向角度(88)が、突起の中心線と平行なライン(89)と前記側面の接線(87)の間の角度として定義される、請求項2又は3に記載のピストン。
- 前記偏向角度(88)は、−30度と+30度の間である、請求項1乃至4のいずれかに記載のピストン。
- 異なる値の偏向角度(88)は、異なる値の離れ角(86)と組み合わせることができる、請求項4又は5に記載のピストン。
