Abstract
Description
工業的状況においては、工業、及び、化学プロセスなどの目録をモニタリングし、制御するために制御システムが使用される。概して、制御システムは、工業プロセス中の主要な場所に分散し、プロセス制御ループによって制御室中の制御回路に結合されたフィールド装置を使用してそのような機能を実行する。「フィールド装置」とは、工業プロセスの計測、制御、及び、モニタリングにおいて使用される、現在知られている、、又は、今後知られることになるすべての装置を含む、分散制御、又は、プロセス・モニタリング・システムにおいて機能を実行する任意の装置をいう。
本発明のいくつかの実施態様は、ワイヤレス・プロセス通信アダプタのワイヤ・ハーネスが、ガスが、ワイヤの絶縁材、又は、撚り線の中を通って移動し、電子部品に到達することを許してしまうということを認識したことに由来する。ワイヤ・ハーネス(図3に示す)は、フィールド装置、又は、アダプタがデータを送受信することができるよう、ワイヤレス・プロセス通信アダプタをフィールド装置に接続するために使用される。ガスが、ワイヤの絶縁材、及び/又は、撚り線の中を通って移動し、電子部品に到達することを防ぐために、本発明のいくつかの実施態様では、概して、ワイヤの絶縁材が除去され、錫めっきされる部分、又は、接続部を、いかなるガスの侵入をも阻止する封止物質内にすることで、それにより、いかなるガスの浸入もブロックすることを提供する。好ましい実施態様では、概して、ワイヤの絶縁材を除去し、及び、錫めっき、ならびに、封止材を使用して、封止された危険場所の認証を維持するための、より簡単で費用効果の高い方法を提供する。さらなる詳細内容は、本明細書中に後述する。参考として、ワイヤレス・プロセス通信アダプタ、及び、それがフィールド装置に接続し、フィールド装置と相互動作する方法を検討することが有用である。
Claims (17)
- 第一端、及び、第二端を有するハウジング、
前記第一端、及び、第二端の一方に取り付けられたフィールド装置カップリング部、
前記ハウジング内に配置され、前記フィールド装置カップリング部の中を通る複数のワイヤに結合されたアダプタ回路、
前記複数のワイヤと係合して前記ワイヤを固定位置に維持するワイヤ・リテーナ、
及び、
前記アダプタ回路、前記ワイヤ・リテーナ、及び、前記複数のワイヤ、を封止する封止材料
を含むワイヤレス・プロセス通信アダプタ。 - 前記複数のワイヤの各々が、前記ワイヤ・リテーナによって保持された絶縁材が除去された部分を含む、
請求項1記載のワイヤレス・プロセス通信アダプタ。 - 前記絶縁材が除去された部分の各々が、錫めっきされている複数ストランドの撚り線を含む、
請求項2記載のワイヤレス・プロセス通信アダプタ。 - 前記ワイヤ・リテーナが、ワイヤごとに少なくとも一つの肩部を含み、前記肩部が、ワイヤ絶縁材の表面と係合して前記ワイヤの軸方向への移動を制限する、

前記ハウジング内に配置され、前記フィールド装置に接続するために前記フィールド装置カップリング部の中を通る複数のワイヤに結合されたアダプタ回路、
前記複数のワイヤと係合して前記ワイヤを固定位置に維持するワイヤ・リテーナ、
及び、
前記アダプタ回路、前記ワイヤ・リテーナ、及び、前記複数のワイヤ、を封止する封止材料、
を含むワイヤレス・プロセス通信アダプタ、
を含むワイヤレス・プロセス通信システム。
