Abstract
【解決手段】本発明の活性炭の製造方法は、平均細孔径が2.0nm以上であるメソポア活性炭の製造方法であって、窒素含有材料と縮合多環式化合物とを含有する混合物を、アルカリ賦活することを特徴とする。

Description
ましく、より好ましくは0.7cm3/g以上であり、3.0cm3/g以下が好ましく、より好ましくは2.8cm3/g以下である。ここで、本発明において全細孔容積とは、相対圧P/P0(P:吸着平衡にある吸着質の気体の圧力、P0:吸着温度における吸着質の飽和蒸気圧)が0.93までの窒素吸着量を測定するBET法により求められる値である。
1.比表面積、全細孔容積および平均細孔径
アルカリ賦活炭0.2gを200℃にて真空加熱した後、窒素吸着装置(島津製作所製、ASAP−2400)を用いてN2ガス吸着法による吸着等温線を求め、BET法により比表面積および全細孔容積を求めた。また、平均細孔径は、BET法により求められた比表面積および全細孔容積を用いて、上記式(1)に基づいて算出した。
元素分析装置(柳本製作所製、型式MT−700HCN)を用い、試料を燃焼させ、発生ガスを分析し、試料中の炭素、水素、窒素含有率を求めた。
充放電装置(楠本化成株式会社製ETAC Ver4.4)の充放電端子をキャパシタのアルミニウム板に接続し、集電板間電圧が2.5Vになるまで40mAの定電流充電を行い、続けて、2.5Vの定電圧で30分間充電した。充電後、定電流(放電電流=0.010A)で電気二重層キャパシタの放電を行わせた。このとき、電気二重層キャパシタの電圧がV1、V2となるまでに要した放電時間t1、t2を測定した。そして、下記式(2)を用いて電気二重層キャパシタの質量基準静電容量を求めた。

上記静電容量の評価と同じ条件でキャパシタの充電を行った後、定電流(放電電流=0.010A)でキャパシタの放電を行わせた。このとき、電気二重層キャパシタの電圧がV1、V2となるまでに要した放電時間t1、t2を測定した。そして、下記式(3)を用いて電気二重層キャパシタの内部抵抗を求めた。

製造例1
活性炭原料として、縮合多環式化合物含有組成物としてのピッチ(大阪化成社製、「MP180」(窒素含有量1.3質量%))100質量部と、窒素含有材料としてのメチルエーテルメラミン(三和ケミカル社製、商品名「ニカラックMW−30M」(窒素含有率約40質量%))50質量部とを十分に混合した。得られた混合物を、窒素雰囲気下、700℃で0.1時間加熱して炭化を行った。得られた炭化物を20g秤量して、これにアルカリ賦活剤として質量比で2.5倍となるように水酸化カリウムを添加し、十分に混合した。次いで、炭化物とアルカリ賦活剤との混合物を、窒素雰囲気下、800℃で2時間加熱し賦活を行った。
活性炭原料の仕込み比を、ピッチ(大阪化成社製、「MP180」)100質量部とメチルエーテルメラミン(三和ケミカル社製、商品名「ニカラックMW−30M」)100質量部に変更したこと以外は製造例1と同様にして活性炭2を得た。得られた活性炭2について、比表面積、全細孔容積、平均細孔径および窒素含有量を測定した。結果を表1に示した。
活性炭原料の仕込み比を、ピッチ(大阪化成社製、「MP180」)100質量部とメチルエーテルメラミン(三和ケミカル社製、商品名「ニカラックMW−30M」)150質量部に変更したこと以外は製造例1と同様にして活性炭3を得た。得られた活性炭3について、比表面積、全細孔容積、平均細孔径および窒素含有量を測定した。結果を表1に示した。
活性炭原料の仕込み比を、ピッチ(大阪化成社製、「MP180」)100質量部とメチルエーテルメラミン(三和ケミカル社製、商品名「ニカラックMW−30M」)300質量部に変更したこと以外は製造例1と同様にして活性炭4を得た。得られた活性炭4について、比表面積、全細孔容積、平均細孔径および窒素含有量を測定した。結果を表1に示した。
活性炭原料を、縮合多環式化合物含有組成物をピッチ(大阪化成社製、「MP180」)100質量部と、窒素含有材料をウレタン(サンプラテック社製、「ウレタン」(窒素含有量約20質量%))100質量部に変更したこと以外は製造例1と同様にして活性炭5を得た。得られた活性炭5について、比表面積、全細孔容積、平均細孔径および窒素含有量を測定した。結果を表1に示した。
活性炭原料を、縮合多環式化合物含有組成物をピッチ(大阪化成社製、「MP180」)100質量部と、窒素含有材料をアクリロニトリル−ブタジエン−スチレン共重合体(ABS)樹脂(サンプラテック社製、「ABS」(窒素含有量約7質量%))100質量部に変更したこと以外は製造例1と同様にして活性炭6を得た。得られた活性炭6について、比表面積、全細孔容積、平均細孔径および窒素含有量を測定した。結果を表1に示した。
活性炭原料をピッチ(大阪化成社製、「MP180」)のみに変更したこと以外は製造例1と同様にして活性炭7を得た。得られた活性炭7について、比表面積、全細孔容積、平均細孔径および窒素含有量を測定した。結果を表1に示した。
前記で得た活性炭1〜7のいずれか1種9.0g、アセチレンブラック1.4g、カルボキシメチルセルロース1.0g、5質量%スチレンブタジエンゴム水溶液4.0gおよびイオン交換水40gを混合した。得られた混合物をアルミニウム箔に塗布した後、100℃で10分間乾燥させて電極材料層を形成した。形成された電極材料層の厚みは、50μmであった。次に、電極材料層が形成されたアルミニウム箔を直径25.4mmの円形に打抜き、荷重77MPaでプレスした。
Claims (3)
- 下記(1)〜(5)のいずれか一つに記載の製造方法により得られたメソポア活性炭を含有することを特徴とする電気二重層キャパシタ用電極材料。
(1)窒素含有材料と縮合多環式化合物含有組成物とを含有する混合物を、アルカリ賦活することで得られる平均細孔径が2.0nm以上であるメソポア活性炭の製造方法
(2)前記窒素含有材料と縮合多環式化合物含有組成物とを含有する混合物を炭化し、得られた炭化物をアルカリ賦活することで得られる前記(1)に記載のメソポア活性炭の製造方法
(3)前記窒素含有材料が、トリアジン化合物またはトリアジン樹脂である前記(1)または(2)に記載のメソポア活性炭の製造方法
(4)前記窒素含有材料が、メラミンもしくはその誘導体、または、メラミン樹脂である前記(1)〜(3)のいずれかに記載のメソポア活性炭の製造方法
(5)前記縮合多環式化合物含有組成物が、ピッチである前記(1)〜(4)のいずれかに記載のメソポア活性炭の製造方法 - 請求項1に記載の電極材料から得られることを特徴とする電気二重層キャパシタ用電極。
- 請求項2に記載の電極を備えることを特徴とする電気二重層キャパシタ。
