Description
図1および図2の基板層110、210は、例えば、開示されている定着器部材向けにベルト、平板および/または円柱形のドラムの形態であってもよい。定着部材の基板は、高い強度と、定着温度で分解しないという物理特性を与え得る限り、制限はない。特に、基板は、金属(例えば、アルミニウムまたはステンレス鋼)または耐熱性樹脂のプラスチックから作ることができる。耐熱性樹脂の例としては、ポリイミド、芳香族ポリイミド、ポリエーテルイミド、ポリフタルアミド、ポリエステル、サーモトロピック液晶ポリマーのような液晶材料などが挙げられる。基板の厚みは、定着ベルトを繰り返し回転させることが可能な剛性および柔軟性を両方とも達成することができるような範囲内にあり、例えば、約10μm〜約200μm、または約30μm〜約100μmである。
機能性層120および220の例としては、フルオロシリコーン、シリコーンゴム、例えば、室温加硫(RTV)シリコーンゴム、高温加硫(HTV)シリコーンゴム、低温加硫(LTV)シリコーンゴムが挙げられる。これらのゴムは既知であり、商業的に簡単に入手可能であり、例えば、SILASTIC(登録商標)735ブラックRTVおよびSILASTIC(登録商標)732 RTV(いずれもDow Corning製)、106 RTV Silicone Rubberおよび90 RTV Silicone Rubber(いずれもGeneral Electric製)、JCR6115CLEAR HTVおよびSE4705U HTVシリコーンゴム(Dow Corning Toray Silicones製)である。他の適切なシリコーン材料としては、シロキサン(例えば、ポリジメチルシロキサン)、フルオロシリコーン(例えば、Silicone Rubber 552(Sampson Coating(リッチモンド、バージニア)から入手可能))、液体シリコーンゴム、例えば、ビニル架橋した熱硬化性ゴム、またはシラノールを室温で架橋した材料などが挙げられる。別の特定の例は、Dow Corning Sylgard 182である。市販のLSRゴムとしては、Dow Corning製のDow Corning Q3−6395、Q3−6396、SILASTIC(登録商標)590 LSR、SILASTIC(登録商標)591 LSR、SILASTIC(登録商標)595 LSR、SILASTIC(登録商標)596 LSR、SILASTIC(登録商標)598 LSRが挙げられる。機能性層は、弾力性を付与し、必要な場合には、例えば、SiCまたはAl2O3のような無機粒子と混合してもよい。
場合により、任意の既知の接着層および入手可能な適切な接着層(プライマー層と呼ばれることもある)が、剥離層130、230、中間層120、220、基板110、210の間に配置されていてもよい。適切な接着剤の例としては、アミノシランのようなシラン類(例えば、Dow Corning製のHV Primer 10)、チタネート、ジルコネート、アルミネートなど、およびこれらの混合物が挙げられる。一実施形態では、接着剤は、約0.001%溶液〜約10%溶液の形態で基板にワイピングによってのせられてもよい。場合により、任意の既知の接着層および入手可能な適切な接着層が、剥離層または外側表面と機能性層と基板との間に配置されてもよい。接着層は、約2nm〜約10,000nm、または約2nm〜約1000nm、または約2nm〜約5000nmの厚みで基板または剥離層にコーティングされてもよい。接着剤を、スプレーコーティングまたはワイピングを含む既知の任意の適切な技術によってコーティングしてもよい。
剥離層130または230の例示的な実施形態としては、ペルフルオロ化ポリエーテルが挙げられる。ペルフルオロ化ポリエーテルは、化学薬品安定性および熱安定性を与え、表面エネルギーが低い。ペルフルオロ化ポリエーテルは、分解温度が約255℃〜約360℃、または約280℃〜約330℃である。

ペルフッ素化ポリエーテルをメチルイソブチルケトンに溶解し、40重量%ポリマー溶液を得た。この溶液を約20分間ロールによって混合し、この時点で均質になった。5ppmのAO700硬化剤(N−(2−アミノエチル)−3−アミノプロピルトリメトキシシラン、Gelest Inc.から入手可能)をこの40重量%ポリマー溶液に加えた。この溶液を約16時間かけてロールで混合した。次いで、得られたコーティング分散物を、適切な(例えば、アルミニウム紙または金属化Mylar)基板にドローコーティング、フローコーティングまたはスプレーコーティングによってコーティングした。溶媒のほとんどをコーティングから蒸発させた後、温度を上げながら硬化させた(例えば、約149℃で約2時間、約177℃で約2時間、次いで約204℃で約2時間、次いで後硬化のために約232℃で約6時間)。
