Description
一部のディスプレイは、強度が変化する光線(線、ビーム)を表示画面に走査することで画像を生成する。例えば、投影型ディスプレイによっては、光線を画面の縦横に走査する。光線の走査速度(走査レート)は、一般的には、表示されるデータが投影型ディスプレイに供給される速度とは無関係である。
以下の詳細な説明では、本発明の説明を目的として、本発明を実施したいくつかの実施形態を図示する図面を活用する。これら実施形態は、が本発明を実施できる程度に十分詳細に説明されている。本発明の様々な実施形態は互いにそれぞれ異なっているが、必ずしも互いに排他的なものではない。例えば、1つの実施形態に関してここで説明する特定の特徴、構造または特性は本発明の精神及び権利範囲から逸脱せずに他の実施形態においても適用できる。加えて、それぞれの開示された実施形態における個々の要素の位置または配置は、本発明の精神と権利範囲から逸脱せずに修正が可能である。従って以下の詳細な説明は本発明を限定するものではなく、本発明の権利範囲は適切に解釈される「請求の範囲」、並びに「請求の範囲」が享受すべき均等範囲によってのみ限定される。図面を通して使用されている同一参照番号は同一または類似した機能性を示す。
Claims (15)
- 低速走査軸と高速走査軸とを含む二軸で、角変位するように運動する走査ミラーと、
前記走査ミラーを、前記走査ミラーの共振周波数で前記高速走査軸上で運動するように励起し、且つ入力される映像のフレームレートに位相同期された軌道で、前記低速走査軸上で運動させる制御システムと、
を備えていることを特徴とする装置。 - 前記制御システムは、ビデオソースからの外部垂直同期(VSYNC)信号を受け取り、前記走査ミラーから水平同期(HSYNC)信号を受け取るように連結されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の装置。
- 前記制御システムは、それぞれの外部VSYNCに対応する複数の内部HSYNCの数を数える計数手段を備えていることを特徴とする請求項2記載の装置。
- 前記制御システムは、それぞれの外部VSYNCに対する内部HSYNCの数に対応して初期の低速走査速度を設定するように機能することを特徴とする請求項3記載の装置。
- 前記制御システムは、外部垂直同期(VSYNC)を、発生した低速走査駆動信号と比較し、その比較結果に基づいて低速走査駆動信号を補正するように機能することを特徴とする請求項1記載の装置。
- 映像データの完全なフレームよりも少ないデータを保持するためのビデオバッファを更に備えていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の装置。
- 前記バッファの中に保持されている横列の画素データの間を補間する補間手段を更に備えていることを特徴とする請求項6記載の装置。
- 前記バッファの中に保持されている画素データの縦列の間を補間する補間手段を更に備えていることを特徴とする請求項6記載の装置。
- 前記補間手段は、前記バッファの中に保持されている画素データの横列と縦列との間を補間することを特徴とする請求項8記載の装置。
- 走査型投影システムを操作する方法であって、
共振周波数で、高速走査軸上で走査ミラーを振動させるステップと、
低速走査軸での前記走査ミラーの運動を、入力された垂直同期(VSYNC)信号に位相同期させるステップと、
を備えていることを特徴とする方法。 - 入力される垂直同期(VSYNC)信号あたりの、前記高速走査軸上で振動する走査ミラーによって生成され出力される水平同期(HSYNC)信号の数を数えるステップと、
前記低速走査軸上での前記走査ミラーの初期の垂直走査速度を設定するステップと、
を更に備えていることを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。 - 位相同期するステップは、整数の周期によって、共振周波数で前記低速走査軸上での前記走査ミラーのサイクルタイムを補正するステップを備えていることを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。
- バッファの中に、1フレームよりも小さな、入力された映像データを保存するステップを更に備えていることを特徴とする請求項12記載の方法。
- 前記バッファの隣接する横列の画素データの間を、補間(垂直補間)するステップを更に備えていることを特徴とする請求項13記載の方法。
- 前記バッファの隣接する縦列の画素データの間を、補間(水平補間)するステップを更に備えていることを特徴とする請求項13記載の方法。
