Abstract
【解決手段】基板上に設けられた有機EL発光性の有機化合物を含む層と、当該有機EL発光性の有機化合物を含む層を覆う第1のバリア層と、当該第1のバリア層上に設けられた第2のバリア層と、当該第1のバリア層及び当該第2のバリア層との間に設けられたシール材と、当該第1のバリア層、当該第2のバリア層、及び当該シール材に囲まれ、乾燥剤を含む第1の樹脂層と、当該第2のバリア層上に設けられ、当該第2のバリア層と接する面に第1の凹凸構造を有し、大気と接する面に第2の凹凸構造を有する樹脂基板とを有し、当該第2の凹凸構造の凹凸の高低差は、当該第1の凹凸構造より大きい照明装置に関する。

Description
<照明装置の構造>
本実施の形態の照明装置の断面図を図1に示す。図1に示す照明装置は、基板201、下地膜202、下地膜202上に第1のバリア層204、下地膜202及び第1のバリア層204によって囲まれる領域に有機EL層を含む発光素子層203が設けられている。
図7に発光素子層203の構造、及び発光素子層203を含む照明装置を示す。図7に示す発光素子層203は、基板201上に、第1の電極211、有機EL層212、第2の電極213が積層されている。なお図7においては、基板201と第1の電極211との間に下地膜202が形成されているが、下地膜202を形成するか否かは基板201の材料によって決定すればよい。
<発光素子層の別の構造>
図2(A)、図2(B)、図3(A)、及び図3(B)に発光素子層203の別の構造を示す。なお図2(A)は発光素子層203の上面図であり、図2(B)、図3(A)、図3(B)はそれぞれ、図2(A)におけるA1−A2の断面図、B1−B2の断面図、C1−C2の断面図である。
配線133a及び配線133bの材料としては、銅(Cu)、チタン(Ti)、タンタル(Ta)、タングステン(W)、モリブデン(Mo)、クロム(Cr)、ネオジム(Nd)、スカンジウム(Sc)、ニッケル(Ni)、から選ばれた材料又はこれらを主成分とする合金材料を用いる。なお本実施の形態では、配線133a及び配線133bを積層した積層構造を用いているが、単層の配線としても良い。本実施の形態の配線は、配線133aとしてチタン膜を用い、配線133bとして銅膜を用いる。銅は抵抗が低いため、好適に用いることができる。配線の膜厚は、2μm以上35μm以下とすることが好ましい。
図4(A)及び図4(B)を用いて、有機EL層212及び有機EL層102の詳細な構造について説明する。
図5(A)〜図5(E)を用いて、図2(B)に示す照明装置の作製方法について説明する。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1で説明した照明装置の応用例について、図6(A)及び図6(B)を用いて説明する。

Claims (7)
- 基板上に設けられた発光性の有機化合物を含む層と、
前記発光性の有機化合物を含む層を覆う第1のバリア層と、
前記第1のバリア層上に設けられた第2のバリア層と、
前記第1のバリア層及び前記第2のバリア層との間に設けられたシール材と、
前記第1のバリア層、前記第2のバリア層、及び前記シール材に囲まれ、乾燥剤を含む樹脂層と、
前記第2のバリア層上に設けられ、前記第2のバリア層と接する面に第1の凹凸構造を有し、大気と接する面に第2の凹凸構造を有する樹脂基板と、
を有し、
前記第2の凹凸構造の凹凸の高低差は、前記第1の凹凸構造の凹凸の高低差より大きいことを特徴とする照明装置。 - 請求項1において、
前記第1のバリア層及び前記第2のバリア層それぞれは、酸化アルミニウム膜、窒化珪素膜、又は酸化窒化珪素膜であることを特徴とする照明装置。 - 請求項1又は請求項2において、
前記第1の凹凸構造の凹凸の高低差は、0.5μm以上50μm以下であり、前記第2の凹凸構造の凹凸の高低差は、100μm以上5mm以下であることを特徴とする照明装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項3のいずれか一項において、
前記第1の凹凸構造及び前記第2の凹凸構造はそれぞれ、ストライプ状又はマトリクス状であることを特徴とする照明装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項4のいずれか一項において、
前記第1の凹凸構造及び前記第2の凹凸構造は、それぞれの断面形状が、半球状又は頂点を有する形状であることを特徴とする照明装置。 - 請求項1乃至請求項5のいずれか一項において、
前記基板はステンレス基板、タングステン基板、ニッケル基板、アルミニウム基板、ガラス基板、又は、セラミックス基板であり、
前記基板及び前記発光性の有機化合物を含む層との間に、下地膜が形成されていることを特徴とする照明装置。 - 請求項6において、
前記下地膜は、酸化アルミニウム膜、窒化珪素膜、又は酸化窒化珪素膜であることを特徴とする照明装置。
