Description
本実施の形態では、開示する発明の一態様に係る発光装置及び発光装置の作製方法について、図1乃至図6および図11を用いて説明する。
図1は、本実施の形態の発光装置の一例である、トップエミッション型(上方射出型)の発光装置である。図1(A)は発光装置150の上面図であり、図1(B)は図1(A)の点線四角X部分の拡大図である。なお、図1(B)では、煩雑になることを避けるため、一部の構成要素を省略して記載している。
本実施の形態の発光装置の作製方法について、図2乃至図6および図11を用いて以下の文章にて説明する。
本実施の形態に開示するトップエミッション構造の発光装置150は、補助配線として機能する導電層102が、第1の電極106下に広い面積で形成されており、導電層102と第2の電極114とが、第2の開口部111の一部で接続(電気的接続)された構造であるため、導電層102がEL層112からの発光を遮ることがない。したがって、補助配線を形成することによる発光輝度の低下を抑制できる。
本実施の形態では、実施の形態1にて作製した発光装置とは一部の構成が異なる発光装置及び当該発光装置の作製方法について、図7及び図8を用いて説明する。なお、以下に記載する発明の構成において、実施の形態1と同一部分又は同様な機能を有する部分には同一の符号を異なる図面間で共通して用い、その繰り返しの説明は省略する。
図7は、本実施の形態の発光装置の一例である、トップエミッション型(上方射出型)の発光装置である。図7(A)は発光装置750の上面図であり、図7(B)は図7(A)の点線四角J部分の拡大図である。なお、図7(B)では煩雑になることを避けるため、一部の構成要素を省略して記載している。
本実施の形態の発光装置の作製方法について、図8を用いて以下の文章にて説明する。
本実施の形態に開示するトップエミッション構造の発光装置750は、導電基板700を補助配線として用いており、導電基板700と第2の電極114とが、第2の開口部111の一部で接続(電気的接続)された構造である。このため、補助配線として機能する導電基板700がEL層112からの発光を遮ることがない。したがって、発光輝度の低下を抑制できる。
本実施の形態では、本発明の一態様に適用できるEL層112の一例について、図9を用いて説明する。
本明細書に開示する発光装置は、照明機器に適用することができる。一例として、本明細書に開示する発光装置を天井や壁に貼り付けて用いることにより、図10のように照明機器1000及び照明機器1002として用いることができる。

Claims (1)
- 導電基板上に、前記導電基板が露出された第1の開口部を有する第1の絶縁層と、
前記第1の絶縁層上の第1の電極と、
前記第1の開口部の側壁を覆い、前記第1の電極上に端部を有し、且つ前記第1の開口部と重なる位置に第2の開口部を有する第2の絶縁層と、
前記第1の電極上のEL層と、
前記第2の開口部において前記導電基板と電気的に接続された、前記EL層上の第2の電極と、を有し、
前記EL層は、前記第2の開口部において前記導電基板と接する領域を有し、
前記第2の電極は、前記第2の開口部において前記導電基板と接する領域を有することを特徴とする発光装置。
