Claims (14)
- 基材屈折率52を有する実質的に透明な基材16と、
基材中に埋設された少なくとも1つの実質的に透明な有機繊維18であって、対象波長域内において基材屈折率と実質的に等しい屈折率50を有する有機繊維と
を含む複合物品。 - 基材と有機繊維とが実質的に等しい屈折率の温度係数を有する、
請求項1に記載の複合物品。 - 基材と有機繊維との屈折率および屈折率の温度係数が、基材の屈折率と有機繊維の屈折率とが温度範囲内の少なくとも1つの温度に対して対象波長域内の所与の波長において等しいようになっている、
請求項2に記載の複合物品。 - 基材と有機繊維との屈折率および屈折率の温度係数が、基材の屈折率と有機繊維の屈折率とが約−65°Fから約220°Fまでの温度範囲に対して対象波長域内において互いの約1から3パーセント以内であるようになっている、
請求項2に記載の複合物品。 - 有機繊維が長尺の断面を有し、前記断面が繊維幅対繊維厚のアスペクト比を有し、かつ、
アスペクト比が約3から約500までの範囲内である、
請求項1に記載の複合物品。 - 繊維厚が約5ミクロンから約5000ミクロンまでの範囲内である、
請求項5に記載の複合物品。 - 有機繊維が、互いに実質的に平行な対向する一対の実質的に平面の繊維面を有し、かつ実質的に平面の繊維面が複合物品の実質的に平面の物品表面に実質的に平行である、
請求項5に記載の複合物品。 - 基材および有機繊維のうちの少なくとも一方が、
フルオロカーボン、ポリアミド、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリカーボネート、ポリウレタン、ポリエーテルエーテルケトン、ポリエーテルケトンケトンのうちの少なくとも1つを含む熱可塑性材料、および、
ポリウレタン、フェノール樹脂、ポリイミド、ビスマレイミド、ポリエステル、エポキシ樹脂のうちの少なくとも1つを含む熱硬化性材料
のうちの少なくとも1つから形成されている、請求項1に記載の複合物品。 - 基材屈折率を有する実質的に透明な基材を提供する工程、
基材屈折率と実質的に等しい屈折率を有する少なくとも1つの実質的に透明な有機繊維を提供する工程、および
基材中に有機繊維を埋設する工程
を含む、複合物品の製造方法。 - 対象波長域を選択する工程、および
基材の屈折率の温度係数が対象波長域内において繊維の屈折率の温度係数と実質的に等しくなるように、基材および有機繊維を選択する工程
をさらに含む請求項9に記載の方法。 - 基材の屈折率と有機繊維の屈折率とが、温度範囲内の少なくとも1つの温度に対して対象波長域内の所与の波長において等しくなるように、基材および有機繊維を選択する工程
をさらに含む、請求項10に記載の方法。 - 基材の屈折率と有機繊維の屈折率とが、約−65°Fから約220°Fまでの温度範囲に対して互いの約1から3パーセント以内となるように、基材および有機繊維を選択する工程
をさらに含む、請求項11に記載の方法。 - 互いに実質的に平行に向けられている対向する一対の実質的に平面の面を有する断面に有機繊維を提供する工程
をさらに含む、請求項9に記載の方法。 - 基材および有機繊維のうちの少なくとも一方が、
フルオロカーボン、ポリアミド、ポリエチレン、ポリエステル、ポリプロピレン、ポリカーボネート、ポリウレタン、ポリエーテルエーテルケトン、ポリエーテルケトンケトンのうちの少なくとも1つを含む熱可塑性材料、および、
