Abstract
Description
本出願は、2008年3月24日出願された米国仮特許出願第61/038,799号の権利を主張する;該仮出願の全体を参考として本明細書に合体させる。
1つの実施態様においては、本明細書において説明する方法および系は、塗装の損傷を被っている車両の熱または他の放射線源を必要としない迅速補修法を提供する。
とりわけ有用なプライマーコート組成物は、以下
(a) 少なくとも1種のポリオール樹脂、
(d) 少なくとも1種のブロックトアミン(blocked amine)、
(c) 少なくとも1種のポリイソシアネート、
(d) イソシアネート/ヒドロキシル反応を促進するための、スズ化合物のような金属触媒、および
(e) 揮発性有機酸、
を含む溶媒系ブレンドを含み得る。
ポリエーテルポリオールは、エチレンもしくはプロピレンオキシドまたはテトラヒドロフランとジオールまたはポリオールとの反応生成物として調製し得る。また、セルロースのような天然産生物に由来するポリエーテルまたは合成エポキシ樹脂も本発明において使用し得る。ポリエステルポリオールは、ジオール、トリオールまたは他のポリオールとジ‐またはポリ塩基酸との反応によって調製し得る。ヒドロキシル官能基を有するアルキッドは、単官能性脂肪酸を含ませ得ることを除いては、同様な方法で調製し得る。アクリルポリオールは、アクリル酸またはメタクリル酸のエステルとヒドロキシ含有モノマー、例えば、アクリル酸またはメタクリル酸のヒドロキシエチル、ヒドロキシプロピルまたはヒドロキシブチルエステルとの重合生成物として調製し得る。また、アクリルポリマーは、スチレン、アクリロニトリル、塩化ビニル等のような他のビニルモノマーも含有し得る。ポリウレタンポリオールは、ポリエーテルポリオールまたはポリエステルポリオールとジイソシアネートとの反応生成物として調製し得る。
好ましいポリイソシアネートとしては、ヘキサメチレンジイソシアネート、イソホロンジイソシアネートおよびこれらの混合物のダイマーまたはトリマーがある。
プライマーコート組成物と同様に、ベースコート組成物の各層は、任意の通常の手段によって適用し得る;しかしながら、スプレー塗布が特に有用な手段である。
ある種の実施態様においては、最終ベースコート層として液滴コートを適用してベースコート組成物中に存在する場合の金属顔料の配向を助長するのが有用であり得る。この最終ベースコート層は、上述のようにして、ベンチュリドライヤーによって強制フラッシングし得る。
特に有用な実施態様においては、2層のクリアコート組成物を、ウェット・オン・ウェットで、補修表面に約38.1〜約50.8μm(約1.5〜約2.0ミル)の乾燥フィルム厚に適用し得る。

Claims (23)
- 基体のコーティーング方法であって、以下、
(1)周囲温度硬化ベースコート組成物の少なくとも第1の層を基体に適用する工程、
(2)前記ベースコート組成物を周囲温度空気によって強制フラッシングする工程、
(3)周囲温度硬化クリアコート組成物の少なくとも第1の層を前記ベースコート組成物の層に適用する工程、
(4)前記クリアコート組成物を硬化させる工程、
を含み、熱輻射または化学線を実質的に適用しないで前記ベースコートまたはクリアコート組成物の硬化を容易にすることを特徴とする方法。 - 前記少なくとも第1のベースコート層を周囲温度空気流によって約5分未満強制フラッシングする、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記少なくとも第1のベースコート層を周囲温度空気流によって約2分未満強制フラッシングする、請求項1記載の方法。
- 前記第1のベースコート層をベンチュリドライヤーで強制フラッシングする、請求項3記載の方法。
- 下記の工程、
周囲温度硬化ベースコート組成物の第2の層を前記ベースコート組成物の第1層上に適用する工程、および、
前記第2のベースコート層を周囲温度空気流によって強制フラッシングする工程、
をさらに含む、請求項1記載の方法。 - 前記第1のベースコート組成物層を周囲温度空気によって約1〜約5分間強制フラッシングし、前記第2のベースコート組成物層を周囲温度空気によって約1〜約5分間強制フラッシングする、請求項5記載の方法。
- 前記ベースコート組成物を着色して前記基体の現存色と実質的に一致させる、請求項6記載の方法。
- 前記基体が、車両パネルである、請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記各ベースコート層をベンチュリドライヤーで強制フラッシングする、請求項6記載の方法。
- 周囲温度において、前記クリアコート組成物を実質的に硬化させて、適用後15分内での前記クリアコートのバフ仕上げを可能にする、請求項1記載の方法。
- 基体の補修方法であって、
周囲温度硬化プライマー組成物の少なくとも第1の層を基体に適用し、前記プライマー組成物が周囲温度で十分に硬化して前記プライマー層の適用後20分内でのサンダー仕上げを可能にする工程、
周囲温度硬化ベースコート組成物の少なくとも第1の層を前記プライマー層に適用する工程、
前記ベースコート組成物を周囲温度空気流によって約1〜約5分間強制フラッシングする工程、
周囲温度硬化クリアコート組成物の少なくとも第1の層を前記ベースコート組成物の層に適用する工程、および
前記クリアコート組成物を硬化させる工程、
を含み、前記プライマー組成物、ベースコート組成物およびクリアコート組成物の硬化工程が熱輻射および化学線の適用を必要としないことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記プライマー組成物が、以下、
(a) 少なくとも1種のポリオール樹脂、
(b) 少なくとも1種のブロックトアミン、
(c) 少なくとも1種のポリイソシアネート、
(d) イソシアネート/ヒドロキシル反応を促進する金属触媒、および
(e) 揮発性有機酸、
を含む溶媒系ブレンドである請求項11記載の方法。 - 前記プライマー組成物を周囲温度空気流によって約30秒〜2分間強制フラッシングする工程をさらに含む、請求項11記載の方法。
- ベンチュリドライヤーを使用して周囲温度空気流を与えることを含む、請求項13記載の方法。
- 周囲温度において、前記クリアコート層を硬化させて、適用後20分内でのバフ仕上げを可能にする、請求項11記載の方法。
- 車両パネルのカラーコートに対する損傷のスポット修理方法であって、以下、
(1)損傷領域に、該損傷領域を取囲む車両パネルのカラーコートと実質的に一致するカラーを有する着色ベースコート組成物の少なくとも1層を適用する工程、
(2)前記着色ベースコート組成物の層を周囲温度空気で約1〜約5分間強制フラッシングする工程、
(3)必要に応じて、前記着色ベースコート組成物の少なくとも第2の層を前記着色ベースコート組成物の第1層上に適用する工程、
(4)前記ベースコート層にクリアコート組成物の少なくとも1層を適用する工程(前記クリアコート組成物は、周囲温度で硬化性であり、適用後の約20分未満でバフ仕上げ可能である)、および
(5)前記クリアコート層をバフ仕上げする工程、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記クリアコート層をバフ仕上げする前に、前記第1のベースコート層および前記クリアコート層の硬化に当てる総時間が周囲温度で約30分未満である、請求項16記載の方法。
- 下記の工程、
周囲温度硬化プライマー組成物の少なくとも第1の層を、前記損傷領域に、着色ベースコート組成物の前記少なくとも1層を適用する工程の前に適用する工程、
をさらに含む、請求項16記載の方法。 - 前記クリアコート層をバフ仕上げする前に、前記第1のプライマー層、前記第1のベースコート層および前記クリアコート層の硬化に当てる総時間が周囲温度で約45分未満である、請求項18記載の方法。
- 化学線を、前記プライマー組成物、ベースコート組成物またはクリアコート組成物のいずれの硬化においても使用しない、請求項18記載の方法。
- 周囲温度よりも高い熱輻射を、前記プライマー組成物、ベースコート組成物またはクリアコート組成物のいずれの硬化においても使用しない、請求項18記載の方法。
- 基体のコーティーング方法であって、以下、
(1)溶媒系ベースコート組成物の少なくとも第1の層を基体に適用する工程、
(2)硬化処理を前記第1のベースコート層に約5分未満の時間で施し、この硬化処理を、周囲温度空気、熱輻射およびこれらのブレンドによる強制フラッシングからなる群から選択する工程、
(3)必要に応じて、前記着色ベースコート組成物の少なくとも第2の層を前記着色ベースコート組成物の第1層上に適用する工程、
(4)硬化処理を前記必要に応じての第2のベースコート層に約5分未満の時間で施し、この硬化処理を、周囲温度空気、熱輻射およびこれらのブレンドによる強制フラッシングからなる群から選択する工程、および
(5)溶媒系クリアコート組成物の少なくとも第1の層を前記ベースコート組成物のトップ層に適用し、周囲温度において、前記クリアコート層を十分に硬化させて、適用後の20分内でのバフ仕上げを可能にする工程、
を含むことを特徴とする、方法。 - 熱輻射を前記クリアコート層に約5分までの時間適用する工程をさらに含む、請求項22記載の方法。
