(a)凝集表面を有し、坪量約140g/m2以下であり、孔径約100nm〜約20,000nm、平均孔径約20,000nm未満の複数の細孔を含む多孔質フラッシュ紡糸プレキシフィラメント状フィルム−フィブリルシートの表面材によって被覆された吸音材料のコアを含む吸音物品を提供する工程と、
(b)周囲音が物品に吸収されるように環境内に物品を配置する工程と、

坪量は、ASTM D 3776の方法で測定し、試料サイズに関して変更を行い、g/m2の単位で報告した。

厚さ13mm、坪量9.4kg/m3、単位面積当たりの通気抵抗120レイルの連続気泡メラミンフォーム(Illbruck Acoutic Inc.(Minneapolis,Minnesota)製)の層を使用して、本発明による吸音材コアを形成した。厚さ0.1mm、坪量17g/m2のナイロン6,6スパンボンドスクリムをフォームの両面に配置し、約11cm×11cmのダイヤモンドのパターンを使用してスクリムとフォームを一緒にキルティング加工した。後述の積層プロセスで実施例の吸音材を作製した。酢酸ビニル水ベースの接着剤(efi Polymers(Denver,Colorado)から入手可能なWA2173)をローラーで、キルティング加工されたフォーム層の一面に約0.3kg/m2の割合で塗布した。厚さ20mm、坪量0.33kg/m2、単位面積当たりの通気抵抗130レイルのメルトブローポリエステル不織布層を、キルティング加工されたフォーム層に積層して、吸音材コアを形成した。DuPont(商標)Tyvek(登録商標)スタイル1055Bの商品名でDuPontから入手可能なフラッシュ紡糸不織布表面材をコアの周囲に巻き付けて、実施例1の吸音材を形成した。DuPont(商標)Tyvek(登録商標)スタイル1443Rの商品名でDuPontから入手可能なフラッシュ紡糸不織布表面材をコアの周囲に巻き付けて、実施例2の吸音材を形成した。各実施例の吸音材の全厚は約25mmであった。製品仕様(AATCC TM 127, DIN EN 20811に従って、毎分H2O60cmの試験速度で試験した)によれば、実施例1のフラッシュ紡糸表面材は静水頭が少なくともH2O180cmであり、実施例2の表面材は静水頭が少なくともH2O24cmである。表は、実施例の吸音材に使用した表面材の特性を記載する。

- 前記表面材と前記コアの少なくとも1つの主表面の間に配置された接着剤層を更に含む、請求項1に記載の物品。
- a)2つの主表面を有する吸音材料のコア、
b)前記コアの少なくとも1つの主表面を被覆する表面材であって、凝集表面を有し、坪量140g/m2以下であり、孔径100nm〜20,000nm、平均孔径20,000nm未満の複数の細孔を含む多孔質フラッシュ紡糸プレキシフィラメント状フィルム−フィブリルシートを含む表面材、および
c)前記コアおよび少なくとも1つの主表面上の表面材を収容するための音響透過性硬質外被、
を含む、アセンブリ。 - 前記音響透過性硬質外被が、有孔金属、有孔プラスチック、および有孔の固体充填樹脂材料からなる群から選択される、請求項17に記載のアセンブリ。
- 約1200Hz未満の周波数での前記アセンブリの吸音が、前記表面材のないアセンブリの吸音より少なくとも5%高い、請求項17に記載のアセンブリ。
- 2つの主表面を有する吸音材料のコア、および
前記コアの少なくとも1つの主表面を被覆する表面材であって、凝集表面を有し、坪量140g/m2以下であり、孔径100nm〜20,000nm、平均孔径20,000nm未満の複数の細孔を含む多孔質フラッシュ紡糸プレキシフィラメント状フィルム−フィブリルシートを含む表面材、

前記コアの少なくとも1つの主表面を被覆する表面材であって、凝集表面を有し、坪量140g/m2以下であり、孔径100nm〜20,000nm、平均孔径20,000nm未満の複数の細孔を含む多孔質フラッシュ紡糸プレキシフィラメント状フィルム−フィブリルシートを含む表面材、
を含む、吸音性建築用表面被覆材。 - 1200Hz未満の周波数での前記被覆材の吸音が、前記表面材のない被覆材の吸音より少なくとも5%高い、請求項22に記載の被覆材。
- (a)凝集表面を有し、坪量140g/m2以下であり、孔径100nm〜20,000nm、平均孔径20,000nm未満の複数の細孔を含む多孔質フラッシュ紡糸プレキシフィラメント状フィルム−フィブリルシートの表面材によって被覆された吸音材料のコアを含む吸音物品を提供する工程と、
(b)周囲音が前記物品に吸収されるように環境内に前記物品を配置する工程と、
を含む、環境内の吸音を改善する方法。
