Abstract
【解決手段】液晶装置は、第1基板(10)と、第1基板に対向して配置された第2基板(20)と、第1基板上に互いに間隔をおいて配列された複数の画素電極(9)と、第1基板と第2基板との間に挟持され、垂直配向液晶を含んでなる液晶層(50)と、を備え、互いに隣り合う画素電極間の間隔をs[um]とし、液晶層の厚さをd[um]とし、垂直配向液晶のプレチルト角をθ[°]とするとき、関係式 −1.6×s/d+4.4≦θ≦−2.6×s/d+5.6 を満たす。

第1実施形態に係る液晶装置について、図1から図5を参照して説明する。

を満たしている。
次に、上述した液晶装置を電子機器に適用する場合について説明する。ここでは、本発明に係る電子機器として、投射型液晶プロジェクタを例にとる。
Claims (2)
- 第1基板と、
前記第1基板に対向して配置された第2基板と、
前記第1基板上に互いに間隔をおいて配列された複数の画素電極と、
前記第1基板と前記第2基板との間に挟持され、垂直配向液晶を含んでなる液晶層と、
を備え、
前記間隔をs[um]とし、前記液晶層の厚さをd[um]とし、前記垂直配向液晶のプレチルト角をθ[°]とするとき、関係式
−1.6×s/d+4.4≦θ≦−2.6×s/d+5.6
を満たすことを特徴とする液晶装置。 - 請求項1に記載の液晶装置を備えることを特徴とする電子機器。
