Abstract
【解決手段】超音波手術用鉗子型凝固装置は、この装置の鉗子機構を関連する超音波エンドエフェクタと協同させることにより組織を切断、凝固、及びクランプ締めするように構成されている。装置のハンドルは、外科手術中に組織の切断、凝固、及びクランプ締めを手動で行えるように構成されている。装置をより便利かつ効率的に使用できるように、指先で操作できる制御部が、術者が手の位置を変えることなく装置を作動させられる位置において、使い捨て鋏のハンドルに直接設けられている。ハンドルに設けられた2つのスイッチにより、発生器から得られる2つの電力レベルを独立に制御する。

Description
本出願は、2003年6月17日出願の米国仮出願第60/478,984号について優先権を主張する。米国仮出願第60/478,984号は、参照により本明細書に組み込む。
本発明は、概して超音波手術用機器に関し、より詳細には、組織を凝固及び/又は切断するための超音波手術用鉗子型凝固装置であって、術者が容易に利用できるようにハンドルに配置された手動スイッチを有するものに関する。
超音波手術用器械は、その性能にユニークな特徴があることから、外科手術への応用がますます広がっている。具体的な機器構成及び操作パラメータしだいで、超音波手術用器械は、組織の切断と、凝固による止血を実質的に同時に行い、希望通りに患者の外傷を最小にすることができる。切断行為は、通常、器械の遠位端にあるエンドエフェクタにより、そのエンドエフェクタが接触する組織に超音波エネルギーを送って行う。このような特質を有する超音波器械は、開口手術で使用するように構成することも、腹腔鏡下若しくは内視鏡下外科手術用に構成することもできる。
本発明の原理を実施する超音波手術用鉗子型凝固装置は、手術中に、手動で、組織の切断、凝固及びクランプ締めができるように構成されている。装置をより便利かつ効率的に使用できるように、指先で操作する制御部は、術者が手の位置を変えることなく装置を作動させることができる位置において、使い捨て鋏のハンドルに直接設けられている。2つのボタンで、発生器から得られる2つの電力レベルを独立に制御する点で、従来の2つのフットペダルを有する構成のものと同じである。
本発明を詳細に説明する前に、本発明の応用又は使用が、添付の図面及び明細書の記載で説明する部品の構成及び配置の細部まで限定されるものではないことを特に指摘しておく。例示する本発明の実施形態は、他の実施形態、変形例、部分的変更例で実施したり、これに導入したりしてもよく、また、さまざまな方法で実行又は実施することもできる。さらに、特に断らない限りは、本明細書で使用する用語及び表現は、読者の便利なように、本発明の例示的な実施形態を説明するために選んだものであり、本発明を限定するために選んだものではない。
(1)超音波手術器械であって、
a)超音波エネルギーを供給するためのハンドピースを入れるためのハウジング、を備え、前記ハウジングが、
b)前記超音波手術器械の使用者とのインターフェイスとなるように構成されたハンドルと、
c)前記ハンドルに配置されている少なくとも1つのスイッチであって、発生器に電気信号を与えて、前記ハンドピースによって送られる超音波エネルギーの大きさを調整するために、前記発生器に電気的に接続されている少なくとも1つのスイッチと、を備える超音波手術器械。
前記ハンドルが2つのスイッチを備えており、第1の前記スイッチは、第1の電気信号を前記発生器に与えるために前記発生器に電気的に接続されており、第2の前記スイッチは、第2の電気信号を前記発生器に与えるために前記発生器に電気的に接続されている、超音波手術器械。
(3)実施態様1記載の超音波手術器械であって、
前記ハンドピースは、前記スイッチからの電気信号を受け取る導体を備えている、超音波手術器械。
前記2つのスイッチは、1.27cmから2.54cmの距離だけ離れている、超音波手術器械。
(5)実施態様2記載の超音波手術器械であって、
前記第1及び第2のスイッチの各々は、10°から30°の作動角をなす作動方向を規定する、超音波手術器械。

- 超音波手術器械であって、
超音波エネルギーを供給するための超音波ドライブユニットを備えるハンドピースと、
前記ハンドピースを入れるためのハウジングと、
を備え、
前記ハウジングが、
前記超音波手術器械の使用者とのインターフェイスとなるように構成され、前記ハウジングと一体となっている、ハンドルと、
前記ハンドルに配置されている少なくとも1つのスイッチであって、発生器に電気信号を与えて、前記ハンドピースによって送られる超音波エネルギーの大きさを調整するために、前記発生器に電気的に接続されている少なくとも1つのスイッチと、を備える超音波手術器械。
