多項質な金属インプラント、または多孔性の金属部を有するインプラントは、周囲の骨組織および軟組織がインプラントの内部へ成長することを促進するために使用される。金属の多孔率、統合性(integrity)および連続性(continuity)が十分であれば、多孔質インプラントは、組織が内部にて成長のための足場として機能して、宿主の骨に好適に固着する。例えば、金属の個体片をエッチングするなどにより、金属物質から断片を除去することによって、多孔性の材料を形成することができる。粉末などの金属微粒子を用いて、多孔性の材料を形成することもできる。
本発明は、脛骨トレイおよびその製造方法を提供する。例えば、上面をもつ基材を形成することができる。当該基材の上面に多孔性の金属材料を取り付けてもよい。基材の選択された領域を除去して、脛骨トレイの第一構造(first features)を形成してもよい。ポリマー部の選択された領域を除去して、脛骨トレイの第二構造(second features)を形成してもよい。
図1は、本発明の基材の前面図である。
下記説明は、本質的に例示のみを目的としており、本発明、その応用または使用を限定する意図は全くない。脛骨トレイに使用する多孔性の金属インプラントについての様々な実施形態を記載しているが、本発明のインプラントおよび方法は、図示されたものに限定されず、あらゆる適した基材または形状であってもよく、あらゆる適切な方法を使用してもよい。
Claims (20)
- 脛骨トレイを製造する方法であって、
上面を有する基材を形成する工程と、
上記上面上に多孔性の金属材料を接着させる工程と、
上記多孔性の金属材料上にポリマー部を接着させる工程と、
上記脛骨トレイの第一形状を形成するために、上記基材の選択された領域を除去する工程と、
上記脛骨トレイの第二形状を形成するために、上記ポリマー部の選択された領域を除去する工程と、を含む、方法。 - 上記多孔性の金属材料を接着させる工程が、上記基材の上記上面上に上記多孔性の金属材料を焼結させることを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 上記ポリマー部を接着させる工程が、上記多孔性の金属材料上に上記ポリマー部を成形することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 上記基材の選択された領域を除去する工程が、脛骨ステムの一部を形成することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 上記基材の選択された領域を除去する工程が、上記多孔性の金属材料の少なくとも一部を露出させることを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 上記ポリマー部の選択された領域を除去する工程が、軸受を選択的に固定するように適合された接合形状を有する脛骨トレイの上面を形成することを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 上記多孔性の金属材料と上記ポリマー部との間にホイルバリアを接着する工程をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 脛骨トレイを製造する方法であって、
上面を有する基材を形成する工程と、
上記上面に多孔性の金属材料を接着させる工程と、
上記多孔性の金属材料上に非多孔性の層を形成する工程と、
上記非多孔性の層にポリマー部を接着させる工程と、
上記脛骨トレイの第一形状を形成するために、上記基材の選択された領域を除去する工程と、を含む、方法。 - 上記多孔性の金属材料を接着させる工程が、上記基材の上記上面上に上記多孔性の金属材料を焼結させることを含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 上記ポリマー部を接着させる工程が、上記ポリマー部および上記多孔性の金属材料のうちの少なくとも1つを加熱することと、上記多孔性の金属材料上へ上記ポリマー部を配置することと、上記ポリマー部および上記多孔性の金属材料のうちの少なくとも1つを冷却することと、を含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 上記基材の選択された領域を除去する工程が、脛骨ステムの一部を形成することを含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 上記基材の選択された領域を除去する工程が、上記多孔性の金属材料の少なくとも一部を露出させることを含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 上記非多孔性の層を形成する工程が、上記多孔性の金属材料上へホイルバリアを接着させることを含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 脛骨トレイを製造する方法であって、
第一上面を有するチタン基材を形成する工程と、
上記基材、および第二上面を有する多孔性の金属材料のうちの少なくとも1つに対して、加熱および加圧の少なくとも1つの処理を行うことによって、上記多孔性の金属材料を上記第一上面に接着させる工程と、
上記第二上面上に、ポリエーテルエーテルケトン(PEEK)を成形する工程と、
上記基材の選択された領域を除去してステムを形成する工程と、
上記多孔性の金属材料の少なくとも一部を露出させるとともに軸受を選択的に固定するように構成された接合形状を形成するために、上記ポリエーテルエーテルケトンの選択された領域を除去する工程と、を含む、方法。 - 上記多孔性の金属材料を接着させる工程が、上記基材の上記上面に上記多孔性の金属材料を焼結させることを含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 上記多孔性の金属材料を接着させる工程が、上記基材の上記上面へ上記多孔性の金属材料を溶接することを含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 上記多孔性の金属材料がチタンである、請求項14に記載の方法。
- 上記多孔性の金属材料を接着させる工程が、上記多孔性の金属材料へ上記基材を拡散接合させることを含む、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 上記多孔性の金属材料を接着させる工程が、上記多孔性の金属材料へ上記基材を金属接合させることを含む、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 上記ポリエーテルエーテルケトンに軸受を接着させる工程をさらに含む、請求項14に記載の方法。
