Description
本出願は、2007年7月20日出願、出願番号60/951,095の米国仮出願の優先権を主張するものであり、その仮出願の内容は参照によりここに組み込まれている。
発明の分野
高温で運転される反応容器は、運転前の冷めた状態から運転中の加熱状態に向かって熱くなるにつれ、膨張(例えば容器の軸方向長さの伸長)することができる。このような反応容器は、一般的に、当該反応容器のベースの固定位置に装着されることで据え付けられ、1つ以上の別部品に配管接続によって相互連結可能である。しかしながら、上記別部品は、異なる温度状況下で運転されることもあり、反応容器と比べて膨張/収縮が異なる状態になりやすい。本発明は、装置内の部品間における上記のような相対的な位置変化が、配管接続に不良を生じさせる又は疲労不良を促進させるストレスを配管接続内に生み出すことに注目したものである。
上記問題を取り除くために、本発明者らは、下記に述べる螺旋配管装置を構築した。
Claims (14)
- 当該反応容器の内部と流体を通す第1のポートと、当該反応容器の内部に流体を通すように接続された出口ポートと有した反応容器と、
前記反応容器を支持したベースと、
前記第1のポートに流体を通すように接続され、前記反応容器の周囲を回るように配置された第1の螺旋管と、
を具備した反応容器装置。 - 前記容器の周囲を回るように延び、第2のポートに流体を通すように接続された第2の螺旋管を更に備えた請求項1に記載の反応容器装置。
- 前記反応容器は、前記ベースから第1の方向に膨らんでおり、前記第1の方向に沿って採寸された前記第1のポートと前記ベースとの間の距離は、前記第1の方向に沿って採寸された前記第2のポートと前記ベースとの間の距離よりも大きい請求項2に記載に反応容器装置。
- 前記第1および第2のポートは、前記第1の方向とは直交する第2および第3の方向に前記反応容器から延びている請求項2に記載の反応容器装置。
- 前記反応容器は、当該反応容器の壁に設けられた断熱素材を有した請求項1に記載の反応容器装置。
- 前記第1の螺旋管は、断熱されている請求項1に記載の反応容器装置。
- 前記第1の螺旋管と前記反応容器との間に設けられた隙間を有し、この隙間は前記第1のポートを除いて前記反応容器の全周に亘って広がっている請求項1に記載の反応容器装置。
- 前記第1の螺旋管は、前記反応容器が非加熱状態にあるときに、圧縮状態である第1の状態になり、前記反応容器が前記非加熱状態に比較した加熱状態にあるときに、圧縮が相対的に小さい状態である第2の状態になるように構成された請求項1に記載の反応容器装置。
- 当該反応容器の内部と流体を通す第1のポートと、当該反応容器の内部に流体を通すように接続された出口ポートと有した反応容器を用意し、
前記第1のポートに流体を通すように接続され、前記反応容器の周囲を回るように配置された第1の螺旋管を用意し、
前記第1の螺旋管を通して前記反応容器内に蒸気を流す、
ことを含んだ反応容器装置の運転方法。 - 前記反応容器の第2ポートと流体を通す第2の螺旋管を用意し、
天然ガス予熱器からの改質物を前記第2の螺旋管内に流す、ことを更に含んだ請求項9に記載に反応容器装置の運転方法。 - 第1の温度から、この第1の温度よりも高い第2の温度に前記反応容器を加熱することを更に含んだ請求項10に記載の反応容器装置の運転方法。
- 前記第1の螺旋管は、前記反応容器が前記第1の温度にあるときに、第1の圧縮状態になり、前記反応容器が前記第2の温度にあるときに、前記第1の圧縮状態とは異なる第2の圧縮状態になる請求項11に記載の反応容器装置の運転方法。
- 前記第1の圧縮状態は、前記第2の圧縮状態よりも圧縮量が大きい請求項12に記載の反応容器装置の運転方法。
- 前記第1の圧縮状態は、前記第2の圧縮状態よりも圧縮量が小さい請求項12に記載の反応容器装置の運転方法。
