Abstract
Description
以下の表1に表示された実施例Aは、直径4インチのCACホースの3つの構成の一般的現場体験(general field experience)を、限定的な実験室試験データとともに比較し、本発明のホースの改善された性能を示している。この図の3つの各ホースは、カバーにはEPDMゴム組成物を、チューブにはCPEまたはEPDM組成物のいずれかを用いて作成される。(CPEは耐油性が求められる場合にEPDMの代わりに用いられ、圧力や疲労性能の要因とならない。)比較例1は1980年代に開発された典型的な構造で、ターボチャージャーのシステムが45psiの最大システム圧を超えないときに長年利用されている。比較例1は通常の編上げ補強として1500デニールのTECHNORAヤーンを利用する。比較例2は、過度の振動を伴う低圧ターボチャージャーシステムのために1990年代に開発された改造構造を代表するものである。比較例2は、1200×2、すなわち合計2400デニールのNOMEXヤーンによる通常の編上げ補強を利用しており、初期のTECHNORAヤーンの構造物に比べて優れた耐疲労性が提供される。しかし、より高いピークシステム圧と増加した振動を含む最新のターボチャージャーに対して増加している需要の下では、両比較例とも実機において早期に故障する。
以下の表2に表示された実施例Bは、ラジエーターホースの実験室試験に用いられるときの本発明の長所を説明する。直径2.5インチの直線状のラジエーターホースが、内部チューブにもカバーにもEPDMゴム組成物を用いて作成された。比較例4では、1500デニールで69ポンドの引張り強度を有するTWARONパラ系アラミドヤーンによる通常の編上げ補強材が利用される。比較例5では、前述の比較例1と同様に1500デニールで78ポンドの引張り強度を有するTECHNORAコパラ系アラミドヤーンによる通常の編上げ補強材が利用される。実施例6では、前述の実施例3と同様に、積重ねられともに撚られた1500デニールのTECHNORAヤーンと1200デニールのNOMEXヤーンとを有する実施例3のハイブリッドヤーンが利用される。24本の針(needle)を有する4インチの編上げヘッド(knitter head)に1フィートあたり96の編目が形成されるように本縫いでラジエーターホース補強材が編上げられる。表2の3つのホースの例では同程度の破裂圧(125±10psi)であり、最小で80psiを要求するSAE J20規格20R4を満たすように設計される一方で、表2の結果は、実施例6のホースが80psi、302°Fにおいて試験されたときに比較例4、5のホースより遥かに優れた耐撃力疲労性を有することを示す。それゆえ、本発明は従来のホースより大いに改善された耐撃力疲労性を有するハイブリッドヤーンによる編上げ補強を有するホースを供給する。熾烈性を緩めた他の試験、つまり250°Fで45psiおよび60psiにおける撃力疲労試験において、実施例6では比較例4、5程の直径の増大化が示されなかった。しかし、3つのすべてが300,000回を超えて残存した。
Claims (16)
- チューブと、編物と、カバーとを備え、前記編物はコパラ系アラミド繊維の第1のヤーンとメタ系アラミド繊維の第2のヤーンとを有するハイブリッドヤーンを有することを特徴とするフレキシブルホース。
- 前記ハイブリッドヤーンの表面繊維は、コパラ系アラミド繊維とメタ系アラミド繊維であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のホース。
- 前記編物は前記チューブと前記カバーとの間において前記ホースに埋め込まれることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のホース。
- 前記第1のヤーンと前記第2のヤーンとは、インチあたり約5回までともに撚られていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のホース。
- 前記コパラ系アラミド繊維はパラ−フェニレン テレフタルアミドと3、4−オキシジフェニレン テレフタルアミドとの共重合体であり、前記メタ系アラミド繊維はポリ−メタ−フェニレン イソフタルアミドであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のホース。
- 前記第1のヤーンはTECHNORA(登録商標)繊維を有し、前記第2のヤーンはNOMEX(登録商標)繊維を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のホース。
- 前記第1のヤーンと前記第2のヤーンとは、インチあたり約1回から約5回までともに撚られていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のホース。
- 前記編物は、フィートあたり約50から約200の編目を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のホース。
- 前記ハイブリッドヤーンは、前記繊維同士の接着またはコードの本体への接着のための付加的な接着処理が施されていない基礎ヤーンを有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のホース。
- ラジエーターホース、冷却剤ホース、ヒーターホース、またはCACホースの形態である請求項1に記載のホース。
- ハイブリッドヤーンを形成するために、少なくとも、コパラ系アラミドである第1の基礎ヤーンとメタ系アラミドである第2の基礎ヤーンとの結合と、
チューブの形成と、
前記チューブ上への補強生地層を形成するためのハイブリッドヤーンの編上げと、
前記チューブと前記生地層とのあたりのカバーの形成とを備える
ことを特徴とする製造方法。 - 前記結合において、前記基礎ヤーンを5TPIまで撚ることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の製造方法。
- 前記編上げにおいて、フィートあたり約50から約200の編目を形成することを特徴とする請求項14に記載の製造方法。
- 前記第1のヤーンはTECHNORA(登録商標)繊維を有し、前記第2のヤーンはNOMEX(登録商標)繊維を有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のホース。
- チューブと、カバーと、主要補強として補強生地層とを備え、
前記補強生地層は前記チューブと前記カバーとの間に埋め込まれ、前記補強生地層はTECHNORA(登録商標)繊維である第1の基礎ヤーンとNOMEX(登録商標)繊維である第2の基礎ヤーンとを有するハイブリッドヤーンを有し、
前記第1のヤーンと前記第2のヤーンとは、インチあたり約1回から約5回までともに撚られ、
前記補強生地層は、フィートあたり約50から約200の編目を有する
ことを特徴とする低圧流体転送ホース。 - 前記チューブはEPDMまたはCPEを有し、前記カバーはEPDMまたはCPEを有することを特徴とする請求項17に記載のホース。
